The rotating anchor show CNN Tonight will be interesting. Not sure I like that taped programs are at the prime 9pm hour but at least they are getting back to live news at 10pm. At 10 it's rotating anchors at 10 PM. John Walsh is a bad idea. No such luck with CNN canceling Crossfire.

It's also been announced that Stephen Colbert as the successor to David Letterman. At least late night TV realizes it is time for a change.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6540471114822045290.post-21043709033248230042014-04-10T09:27:17.263-04:002014-04-10T09:27:17.263-04:00IMHO, AJAM should do an extended sports highlights...IMHO, AJAM should do an extended sports highlights show with the social media of The Stream. Sports is widely discussed on social media. Put it on at !0 AM instead of doing a repeat of Consider This. John Henry Smith and Ross Shimabuku would be great with a couple of other people from their social media team. They can look forward to the games and sports stories for the day and recap at midnight for 30 mins.
Consider This is fine a 10 PM in prime time but a repeat the next day is outdated. AJAM has yet to make itself an alternative to the others. Same thing goes for Inside Story. Repeats of The Steam and Tech Know work because they are not dated. Personally, I am leaning towards AJAM these days. For me the others are a turnoff. AJAM has all of the right elements but the network needs to learn how to work it. I noticed that ABC NEWS was finally covering the crisis in C.A.R. With that much content, it's a simple motto for AJAM. We know you all have lives so we want waste your time. You will get you all caught up on the news and stories you may not know about. We bring the world to you.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6540471114822045290.post-11069731125027687262014-04-09T12:28:28.704-04:002014-04-09T12:28:28.704-04:00AJAM was the 1st to report the breaking news on th...AJAM was the 1st to report the breaking news on the the mass school stabbing this morning. TVN is wrong it was not FNC. CNN will pivot to this story. 360 will likely get a ratings bump. Breaking news does nothing for MSNBC these days. On second thought CNN will give just as much time to the Malaysia jet story.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6540471114822045290.post-14514273620034813672014-04-09T09:09:23.617-04:002014-04-09T09:09:23.617-04:00We can only hope that CNN has decided to finally d...We can only hope that CNN has decided to finally ditch Crossfire. Wolf Blitzer is dong much better. Content matters and endless ideological food fights will just not bring in viewers for CNN. Do some news.
According to the latest Cable Network Ranker CNN ws behind MSNBC in primetime. OF course Anderson was off last week. When AC is on CNN gets better demos.
Right now they have Al Jazeera at 18,000 viewers for primetime. I'm not sure that cable news watchers flip channels anymore. They are entrenched so that means Al Jazeera has to build it's own audience. It's likely a 3-5 year project.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6540471114822045290.post-67276275290503335032014-04-08T12:52:17.291-04:002014-04-08T12:52:17.291-04:00Jake Tapper does not do well in primetime.
CNN do ...Jake Tapper does not do well in primetime.
CNN do a women's show or else you will
continue to fall behind FOX & MSNBC at 9.
Why do you think FOX went with Megan
Kelly ? Hannity was losing ground to TRMS.
Try someone like Aisha Tyler. SHe is very
smart when discussing news events and
interesting stories. She could be the female
Jon Stewart for CNN. She actually did once
do that type of show on Comedy Central.

It really should be no surprise that the big
networks watch Al Jazeera for news stories.
That used to be CNN when the network was
about rock solid journalism.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6540471114822045290.post-44256830549093023642014-04-08T11:12:44.149-04:002014-04-08T11:12:44.149-04:00Looking forward to watching Tapper's week at 9...Looking forward to watching Tapper's week at 9pm. I think he would do well in primetime.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6540471114822045290.post-79320065754534359732014-04-08T08:15:57.499-04:002014-04-08T08:15:57.499-04:00I see that CNN has hired a digital correspondent ...I see that CNN has hired a digital correspondent from Bloomberg. Digital newrooms are becoming vital. AJAM just picked up a Shorty award for best Twitter news feed. I have noticed that when media writers talk about cable news they only mention CNN, MSNBC & FNC. NBC NEWS is covering the herion crisis, AJAM did an entire week on the subject about 2 months ago. Also, AJAM did not ignore climate change and other important stories largely ignored by cable.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
