They might start to rethink their strategy. So far they get an 'F'in PR.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6540471114822045290.post-18988866024803060972013-01-17T23:15:24.716-05:002013-01-17T23:15:24.716-05:00I enjoyed Mayor Bloomberg's interview on 360, ...I enjoyed Mayor Bloomberg's interview on 360, but I wish he would have been a bit more emphatic
when denouncing the motives of the NRA.
Yes, he said their statement about the President's children was 'outrageous' but when pressed, he seemed to back away from his original reaction.
He did however, emphasize how impractical it would be, to have guns in schools, locked in closets, out of the reach of children, and the adults who were their first line of defense.
It is pressure from Independents, like Bloomberg, who ultimately will help push some legislation through.
And to those who say it will be difficult, yes, but public attitudes are more anti-gun than ever before, and the time to act is now.
Take advantage of it, before there is another shameful atrocity.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6540471114822045290.post-72271332555990990712013-01-17T19:08:03.377-05:002013-01-17T19:08:03.377-05:00Any organization that stoops as low as the NRA to ...Any organization that stoops as low as the NRA to use the President's children in their pro-gun movement, are disgusting individuals.
Unfortunately, that type of ridicule is undermining to all reasonable gun owners, but the NRA doesn't care.
They are willing to use as many deplorable tactics as possible because they are on the defensive.
This is good.
There will be a "next time" and this time perhaps the NRA needs to be charged with "murder."
All it takes is a high profile attorney and loop holes.
Maybe this will teach them to be a little bit more respectful when it comes to this Administration and law abiding citizens who don't own guns.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6540471114822045290.post-48321780466041359882013-01-16T21:55:33.490-05:002013-01-16T21:55:33.490-05:00Piers Morgan had that horrible Dana Loesch on as a...Piers Morgan had that horrible Dana Loesch on as a pundit to debate the President's proposals on gun control.
Loesch is now a 'conservative radio talk host.'
Did we think otherwise.
She had the nerve to tell Piers that none of the POTUS's proposals suited her and that there is no difference between a semi-automatic rifle and an automatic rifle and the reason they were "picked on," was because they are scary.
Someone must tell Ms Loesch, that these weapons of choice have NO other purpose but to kill multiples of living things, like herself.
And as far as the way in which they look, these weapons are no scarier than she.
Piers, please don't have her on again. I posted my 4:16PM comment after seeing Joe Johns fill in for Wolf Blitzer, then went to class and came back only to catch the end of the 6PM hour of TSR where Joe Johns was co-hosting with Kate Bolduan! That was awesome!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6540471114822045290.post-14061569891400147102013-01-15T19:05:19.511-05:002013-01-15T19:05:19.511-05:00Why is it that when I run into an online article a...Why is it that when I run into an online article about Ann Curry wanting to come to CNN, they always mention in the article that they want to replace Anderson Cooper with her? I highly doubt that would happen. They may give her the 8:00PM hour (if she does move to CNN) but he can easily be moved to 9:00PM or back live to 10:00PM (which he would be able to because his talk show is ending), or what I prefer...CNN Mornings. I really do think Anderson would do great in the morning with a co-host. It would give him the opportunity to travel a lot more because he would have a co-host (I prefer Robin Meade rather than Erin Burnett who is reportedly moving to mornings by Jeff Zucker) that would be able to hold down the fort while he reports live elsewhere, and file reports for primetime and during the day. Anderson is better at field reporting and filing reports rather than doing broadcasting, in my opinion.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6540471114822045290.post-29711452237724173982013-01-15T18:53:33.309-05:002013-01-15T18:53:33.309-05:00I agree with the 4:16PM comment. They need to rename the program OR use the studio wall divider that I read somewhere, that was supposed to be used to split the new studio into two or three sets once the election ended, ending the CNN Election Center huge studio until next election season.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6540471114822045290.post-78812107540908218922013-01-15T16:16:18.452-05:002013-01-15T16:16:18.452-05:00I'm surprised at how Joe Johns has become a go...I'm surprised at how Joe Johns has become a good live anchor, filling in for Wolf Blitzer at times. In the past, I've found him a bit sleepy but he has changed for the best. I think it would be great for CNN to develop a new live afternoon program for him paired up with Kate Bolduan (perhaps 3PM) once Jake Tappers show launches at 4PM. Two solid hours of Wolf Blitzer is fine enough at 5PM. Lisa Sylvestor should be the primary fill-in anchor for Wolf Blitzer. She deserves to be. That's what she did for Lou Dobbs.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6540471114822045290.post-38686780739428438282013-01-15T10:13:17.310-05:002013-01-15T10:13:17.310-05:00I noticed that tonight AC is confronting Newtown C...I noticed that tonight AC is confronting Newtown Conspiracy Theories. I don't think that is a good idea. Honestly, I had no idea people could come up with such crackpot ideas but I certainly don't think they should be elevated to a national stage. Really, let's just ignore this garbage. Most people realize the theories are crazy and for those who believe it, well they should not get any ideas that spouting this stuff will make them famous. C'mon Anderson, you can do better than this. This is Piers territory now.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6540471114822045290.post-32473304711814890272013-01-15T10:08:50.706-05:002013-01-15T10:08:50.706-05:00Anon 7:40pm - I agree 100%!
