What's Happening

The biggest CNN related headline in recent days had to be the controversy over AC360's ratings, a story that first broke at TV Newser. Nielsen is posed to make a decision on the matter in late July and we'll keep you posted.

I have no idea how American Morning's ratings have changed since the anchor switch, but I am enjoying the direction the new Executive Producer has taken the program. The banter of those at the desk has lightened the mood considerably, which I find very enjoyable first thing in the morning. Adding lawyer Sunni Hoston, the quirky Richard Roth and the triple trio (Zain Verjee, Tom Foreman and Jamie McIntyre) racing segments from Washington are just a few of the things I look forward to, besides a healthy dose of what's new in the world.
AM has also added great camera work and terrific bump music. Here's a short example from Wednesday's program.

I've got one more thing from Wednesday's American Morning for you. Have you noticed those T.Boone Pickens' commercials teasing his strategy for saving our country from dependence on foreign oil? John Roberts did an interview with Pickens and the plan was reveled for AM viewers.

The LEAGUE National Awards & Recognition Luncheon that was held on June 11th in New York City, hosted by Queen Latifah. CNN Anchor, Nicole Lapin, was among the celebrity attendees as were actor Stephen Baldwin, singer Melinda Doolittle, Henry C. Lozano, and Senator Harris Wofford.
The LEAGUE in NYC honored the top schools, classes, districts and students for their accomplishments during the 2007-2008 school year.

There you have my take on who or what made my list of CNN news for today. I'll see you back here next week. ~ Phebe

  2. About the medical waist that you were talking about, if the goverment put restrictions on them we wouldn't have this Sorry that is insurance fraud. If you or i comitted insurance fraud we would be in jail. the people that are billing it out or sending it to billing should be charged with insurance fraud, this might help put a stop to over billing & high insurance cost.
