  1. I think October is shaping up to be a bad
month for CNN. With those ratings , what
is Campbell still doing on at 8.

  2. I have a feeling Christiane Amanpour might be taking over the 11PM Hour or at least CNN is trying her out, as they did tonite.
Interesting to see if her ratings are any better than Coopers instead of rerunning his first hour.

  3. It never made sense to me that CNN runs the
same program back to back.At some point
the management will have to fix things.Earlier
this year Amanpour did fill in on 360. However,
there are times when I think they are trying to
ruin 360. Anderson's viewers are younger and
don't care about all of the political crap. Since
that is pretty much what is dragging down
the numbers why does CNN keep doing it.
I think there needs to be an huge mix of
stories and not the same all thing over and
    over again.

  4. I am glad that AC was the first major journalist
to talk about what is going on in Chicago and that
360 will be in Chicago tonight. Now other news
organizations are picking up the story. Youth
violence is a huge problem in America it is all
over the country. The same thing is happening
in Los Angeles, Baltimore and others. I know
people who have relatives who send them
articles from their hometown newspapers this
is well beyond Chicago.I happen to like when
AC is the renegade bringing you stories that
others in the media don't cover. Just because
you don't see it does not mean it is not
    happening.

  5. Christiane's show was also on at 3 in the
afternoon. I am not sure she would do that
    well at 11.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Don Lemon has also done some great work
on Chicago. i can't believe the man is only
    on weekends.

  7. CNN better drop the pundits like a hot potato.
The numbers are on Tv by the numbers and it
was bad from start to finish for CNN .

Just give us the information and knock it off
    with the pundits.

  8. There is a huge backlash against CNN these days.
The latest blunder : SNL skit. CNN apparently did
not get that it was a comedy skit and thought it
was important to fact check satire. Does anyone
at CNN have a clue. The thing that bothers me
about Brown's show is the first 10 minutes. It
is a waste of time. If you are calling yourself the
world news leader, why use clips from other news
organization. The clips should be form CNN
people. Also, Lou Dobbs and Rick Sanchez just
make up fake news.I'm starting to wonder if
the suits even watch what goes out on the air.

  9. @11:13AM: "Anderson's viewers are younger and don't care about all that political crap." According to TVNewser, which all media outlets adhere to, AC's viewers are NOT younger. Greta beats him repeatedly in the demo. All you have to do is look at the demographics on this blog and you'd see the inaccuracy of your statement. Corporate may want them to BE younger, but they are not. Jon Stewart has the demographic everyone wants, the younger more intelligent viewers ARE interested in that "political crap." It all depends how the pundit or anchor relates to his audience. The mere fact that CNN used an SNL skit to try to relate in both TSR as well as on 360, shows that they are truly pathetic. SNL has the demo they crave but they too are not the news. CNN has lost its way and can't seem to find an identity. Let's just say they have an identity crisis and need to "clean house," top to bottom.

  10. Young viewers are not 25-54.. The young
viewers fall into two segments according
    to Nielsen. 18-34 and 18-49. The 25-54
is used for news because they tend to have
    older viewers.

  11. Two words Conor Knighton to go head to
head against Beck and revamp the lineup with
the exception of Larry and Anderson.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I am upset that they took away the cool music
on 360.TV Newser has the numbers for last
night and CNN is 4th in the demo again. People
are so over the talking heads. Larry King had
a dumb show last night too with the is Obama
keeping his promises. Wake up CNN and get
a clue. You are losing viewers.I really don;t
get why CNN feel they need the fake debate
instead an intelligent conversation on serious
matters. Using the same people responsible
for divisive politics to speak on the issues is
just dumb and lazy. CNN is in self-destruct
    mode.

    ReplyDelete
  13. CNN might be in fourth place in the prized demographic category, for last nite, but in TVNewser totals, it was third. It was also third at 10pm where 360, live from Chicago, came in after a rerun of Olberman! That is the most distressing part. AC360 often fails to beat live Olberman and Maddow and sometimes even the reruns of Olberman. So the problem isn't just what comes before LKL. It is the entire line-up.

    ReplyDelete
  14. It is the content of the shows. There is very
lousy story selection on CNN.I agree about
too much politics on 360 people think AC
should do other stories and not the gabfest.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Someone must tell Anderson Cooper not to make mention of his troubled ratings on R&K. He probably thought nothing of it, but it should not be advertised. People usually publicize the good and let "bad news" die a silent death. I'm sure CNN Heads wanted to just "die" as well.

    ReplyDelete
  16. 360 numbers are in and they are not good
for Thursday because it was a bad show.I
dare one of the cable news networks to
just air the stories with just debriefs from
the reporters or people who know the facts
and end the dumb ideological talk. Ideology
is getting old it is past it;t 15 minutes of fame.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Boycott CNN. Their coverage of the Nobel prize
with regards to President Obama is disturbing
and shows a CNN does not think it has to respect
Obama in any way shape or form.CNN will fall.

    ReplyDelete
  18. According to TVNewser, CNN is now pitching 360 in a new way. One is a voice over of a woman saying she is a life long Democrat and the other, a man's voice saying he is a life long Republican, and both get their news from AC360. I susupect this is to counter Fox's and Greta's outstanding performance at the 10PM hour.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Nobody considers Greta to be a journalist.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I was just on TV By The Numbers and CNN
is clearly in a downward spiral. Last week's
numbers show CNN 4th in the demo in prime
time and struggling in the demo for daytime.
Not only that the audience is shrinking to
lows in prime time. If this keeps up CNN will
soon be trailing HLN. I can tell you this people
are not digging 360 these days because a show
that once tried to be unlike the others by
conforming to the politics 24/7 365 mode.
Enough CNN, you viewers deserve better.
Quit getting your news from Huffington Post
Drudge and talk radio. Get off your butts and
actually look for news stories that people
care about. I for one am tuning into CNN less
and less and going to the internet because I
can't tolerate the dumbing down of the news.
The BCC is a real news organization and has
high journalism standards that once mattered
at CNN. The network is too heavy on pundits
and does not has intelligent discussion about
serious issues facing this country. Come on
CNN and become the first free cable news
organization to can the political back and
forth. It is this simple the act is getting old
and all too predictable, I turn the channel
because you are failing as a news channel.
Jon Klein has managed to ruin a network
will dumb decisions and no vision. At some
point Jim Walton will have to fix the problem
before it is to late. Management needs to
stop the bleeding before it is too late.

  21. @4:07PM: No one ever considered her a journalist, but she is an attorney and she is getting them to watch and listen to her, by the millions. So all in all, she's doing something right which is more than I can say for AC360 or any of AC's specials for that matter.

    ReplyDelete
  22. CNN messed up by going with Lou Dobbs,
Campbell Brown and Rick Sanchez. All of
them are bad actors/anchors. They are 3
reasons I no longer watch CNN.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I am not sure if CNN knows what news is anymore.
The SNL fact check is the latest fiasco.CNN seems
to be trying to copy Fox by bashing Obama and
it is not working. People do not watch CNN to
see Fox.I have a feeling something big is about
to happen with management. Let's hope it is
someone like a Frank Sesno, Rome Hartman
or David Neuman. Anyone who can restore CNN.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Look for 360 to have another night of bad
ratings. Their lead story is not even news.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Be prepared, be really prepared, Jon Stewart tonite, SLAMMED, CNN and ALL of its anchors, including John king, Wolf Blitzer and its star Anderson Cooper and ALL THE day anchors as well....for LACK OF
FACT CHECKING. Stewart says the CNN logo should read CNN: The channel that "Just leaves it there." Every anchor quoted with clips, just as guests either made up statistics or facts or were about to make a point, said and "We'll have to leave it there."
AC in particular was denounced during a debate between James Carville and Ari Fliesher, on health care, were both at each other with supposedly "made up stats," when Cooper cut them off.
Stewart's point, well taken, CNN does not fact check anything and he's right. They go with whatever and then have the nerve to quote a fake news show like SNL as a source. What a laughing stock of credibility!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Jon Stewart is so right. He tried to set CNN
straight years ago about the pundits. I really
don;t think they realize how much damage
they have inflicted on themselves.CNN is
a laughing stock and they really need to fix
things. The 1st 15 minutes of 360 was really
bad and shows a problem with all of the news
channel. The media is too obsessed with itself.
It is not about them.I wonder is Jon Klein is not
being asked to leave quietly something is going
on when you look this bad on the air. There is
not reason for all of the channels to waste time
talking about each other and other media like
talk radio and blogs.I really would love to know
what Ted Turner thinks when he now watches
CNN. Jon Stewart would do a better job as
boss of the network than Klein.I am waiting for
the day when Mr Time Warner, aka Jeff Bewkes
actually takes a look at what is going on at
CNN.I know he has been busy focusing on
other part of the media giant. I happen to
believe he is not pleased with the way things
are going. It is really going to be interesting
to see who would be a successor to Klein.
There is no way this can continue.I really
wish Bewkes would buy Current and put
    their programs like Vanguard,Infomania and
Current Tonight on CNN and actually do
some news. Hey maybe Laura Ling could
be the next news president. Vanguard
was actually her idea. Brett at Current was
great with politics with a segment he did
during the election called campaign update
and he is really a good writer.

    ReplyDelete
  27. CNN please go for Conor Knighton and
all of the Vanguard team because Current
is due to have a round of layoffs.
