  1. My friends and I just played on the new and
improved CNN.com.CNN knocked it out of the
ball park with this. No other news website comes
    even close.

  2. I am not an efcionado of websites, but to me, the new look is the old look displayed in a different way. Yes, you can play games with your favorite CNN personalities, their wording not mine, but I'm not into games when I look for news.
Anderson Cooper takes you on a musical voice over tour of the new website to wet your appetite just a little.
    Whatever happen to his podcasts?

  3. I like the social media elements and the clean
look. You can go in set up a profile and now
comment on stories in the News pulse of
course not just yet because it really does not
start until Monday..I just spent a couple hours
on CNN.com World and it is amazing. I think
so far CNN is just giving us a same taste to
make people come Monday in big numbers.
I love the new media player and I think the
look should be adopted for the network.
CNN is just too busy on the air.I would like
to see CNN use this wealth of material on
    television. The photography and storytelling
is cool. CNN should use a lot of this stuff
to become a 24/7 cable news network.
Originally is that not what the Sit Room was
suppose to be a combination of old and new.
One difference I noticed is the hip look for
CNN International. I love would view and
they tech savvy edge. I believe the are Mac
people because you see the huge mac
screen for computers. I really wish they
would have Josh Levs at an actual Mac
and not touch screen.CNN International is
way ahead of CNN domestic in social media.
Anon 1:26 unless you click on those items
it does not come up. Trust me the podcasts
will not go away and the site has way more
material than games.I get a look of my news
via the internet. For people like me it is a hit.

  4. It is getting a lot of positive buzz on the internet.
The only problem is that people want to be able
to send the material to FaceBook or YouTube and
Twitter. CNN please provide links. You have got
to hand it to the CNN tech team. You guys rock.

  5. Have a question. Does this mean that as
of midnight the new and improved CNN.com
will be available with all of the elements?
You are being directed to CNN World. Not
    much going on with US.

  6. Can someone tell CNN and other media outlets
that Fox News is not a news story. Do stories
that actually matter to viewers people. Outside
of the political blogs and 24/7 cable news
channels nobody cares. That is why people do
not believe the news.I think the new CNN.com
    means goodbye to old media.

  7. I hope they get a web series featuring Jack
Gray.He has tweeted about CNN.com and
is getting a lot of attention.I would like it if
CNN would make 360 available to watch
without having to download a podcast. That
is why Hulu is so popular all you do is click
to watch your show. Add full episodes of
all of the big shows on the website too.
Remember millions of people don't watch
CNN everyday so they may not know about
a lot of the shows that CNN has. This could
be a great way for CNN to increase viewers.
On the other hand there is this :
CNN might have created a problem for itself.
The content is so rich and good that people
might avoid CNN television and go to the
internet instead. I think we can look for
changes coming to CNN in 2010. First,
there is the app now a slick hip website
to match the CNN App somewhere along
the line CNN television will have to become
compatible as well.I definitely like the shows
and music on CNN World better than what
is on CNN domestic. It is a real shame that
we can not see more material from CNN
    International on CNN.WR could easily
become a hit show in America.

Anon 1:26 think of it as online gaming.
Test your news knowledge against others
from around the world. Anderson also talked
about the news feature way before talking
    about the game.

  8. I still don't get what all the hype is about as far as the "new and improved website." It's like everything else, if its new it's a novelty for a while, but I don't see anything really New. I'll pass final judgement on the 26th.

  9. The 60 Minute website is also new and it is improved. You see right away what's coming up for Sunday. Since their both owned by Time Warner, maybe CNN will have a design change soon.

    ReplyDelete
  10. The upgrade was much needed.CNN gets
    props for this.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Anon 6:55 Time Warner does not own
60 minutes it is owned by Viacom.CNN
is right to step it's game up on the web.
They are already # 1 for internet news.
    Anon 6:17 I don't think this is a novelty.
That is the same attitude from Myspace.
They did not take Facebook seriously since
it was a college kid. Now Myspace is nearly
out of business and will not be around much
longer and Google is trying to stay in the
game as well by trying to stay fresh.

  12. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Phebe and her crew for making ATC so much more user friendly with their new format. Much more interesting than a rehash of what was on the old CNN site and love the stick figures talking to one another. Thanks again!

  13. Is CNN changing the look for Newsroom.
I am watching Don Lemon and it seams
the color blue is more prominent.

  14. @8:14PM: Sorry, I meant to say that 60 Minutes is PART of the Channel 2 organization which is a parent company of Time Warner which in turn is owned and operated by Viamcom. As one who often deals with stock certificates, I should have been more precise in my elaboration but I thought the connection would automatically be made.

  15. Here's my take.CNN is now Youtube and Facebook
for news junkies. It is definitely different.

  16. I am so hooked. They got me when I clicked
on the story about test of conviction. When
you get to the end of the article it says the
conclusion comes on Tuesday. I think I will
check it out again without a doubt. It is
already one of the most popular stories on
News Pulse.I love the writing and the story-
    telling.

  17. CNN's promo about AC360 is confusing. The
ad is clearly political. Does that mean that 360
is now a political show and not a news program
since there is no promo for the news that is on
    360. A lot of people think they are changing the
show because of the promo.I have a hunch that
is why the ratings is down.CNN really needs to
step up it's game with regards to promos for
the show.MSNBC is way better at doing this.

    ReplyDelete
  18. @919AM: I'm with you on this one. It is confusing, but sadly I don't think it is a news promotion or a political promo. I think 360 has lost its way. Too much thought is being given the website, and not enough thought is being given 360. Maybe their getting more revenue from the website.
It is possible that certain cable news outlets will go out the way news print has. Less and less people are reading the actual paper.

  19. TVNewser is reporting that CNN fell way behind Fox,MSNBC,HLN and most repeats at the 10PM hour. The show that took the biggest hit was AC360...a first for the cable network.
Friday's numbers were dismal for 360, which came in behind Olberman and Maddow. Och!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I will tell you why 360 is in trouble to words :
talking heads. Tonight I will not even turn my
television to CNN at all in prime time.360 has
Gary Tuchman with the Tea Party. They can't
even garner enough support nationally so
they are just going to certain cities. Since CNN
now thinks like local tv they think it is a story
We have 14 Americans killed in Afghanistan
including DEA people, Deadly bombings in
Iraq with elections coming up in both countries.
Also, a rumor has protesters coming out in
Afghanistan. Not to mention the public
option now being a part of health care and
the idiots at CNN think the Tea Party is
a story that matters.CNN means Clueless
    Nonsense Network. About CNN finishing
4th look no further than Jon Klein for
going with Lou Dobbs and Campbell Brown
and the useless twitter and hiring pundits
to do opinion , dumbing down the news
and the network in the process. People
expect better from CNN. People are
betting how soon before Klein gets the
ax , my answer is soon real soon because
I is doing nothing to fix the problems.

    ReplyDelete
  21. CNN is not letting you comment on stories
but there is a comment section, what is up
with that ? I do hope CNN will drop the
opinion section a go with a guest writer each
day. Also, let viewers connect with the anchors
and reporters who do real news for CNN.

    ReplyDelete
  22. MSNBC is really trouncing CNN. I have to say Rachel Maddow is an interesting personality and so is Keith Olberman and their shows move quickly from topic to topic. They're not stuck on one topic, like Balloon Boy......for days on end.
