For CNN’s Election Night in America, Wolf Blitzer will be in Washington providing live coverage of the returns as soon as polls begin to close, while Campbell Brown, Anderson Cooper and Larry King will center their programs on the elections. Additional members of the Best Political Team on Television, including senior political analyst Gloria Borger,senior political correspondent Candy Crowley, chief national correspondent John King, will appear throughout primetime programming to discuss the night’s election results and the one-year anniversary of President Obama’s election. CNN also will have correspondents, including national political correspondent Jessica Yellin,covering races throughout the country where close results are expected. In addition to regular primetime programming, there will be a special edition of Larry King Live at midnight with a variety of guests, including Mayor Cory Booker, David Gergen, BET host Jeff Johnson and Ben Stein. Other guest throughout the night include James Carville, Ari Fleischer, Gov. Tim Kaine (D-VA), Roland Martin, Mary Matalin, RNC chairman Michael Steele and former Gov. Jesse Ventura.
Throughout the evening, the new CNN.com will provide up-to-the-minute results of America Votes 2009, as well as commentary and analysis on specific races, initiatives and the bigger political picture. The CNN Political Ticker (www.CNN.com/Ticker) will have posts about political news of the day and iReporters will share their thoughts from the polls and from other places around the country. Twitter followers of @cnnbrk also will receive alerts throughout the evening with incoming results.
HLN will offer a full line-up of complementary programming to CNN's extensive election coverage, featuring its trademark News + Views with Nancy Grace, The Joy Behar Show, and Showbiz tonight.

Okay, I live in the tri-state area so I am interested in NJ's outcome, but what about the rest of the country??? What a total bore?

Even the west coast probably doesn't care but it's that Klein mindset. Let's redo what we did in 08 and bring in those numbers.
At nine I will watch DWTS Mr.Klein, regardless of where I live.
And by the way, if 360 was to be given a grade last nite it would have gotten a D. I'd have said F, but since AC is back, it went up one notch.

are not about Obama. CNN seems to think
he is up for re-election tonight and is sounding
like the Republican party word for word and
that is exactly why they are in trouble. There
is such a disconnect. Just take a look at 360's
ratings from last night on Tv by the Numbers.
Fans of 360 don't care for the tea party or
blah blah sessions that last for nearly 15
minutes. Where is the news?

time. I just don't think you can read much
into what is happening tonight with regards
to how things will be in 2010. Majority of
Americans did not vote.It is what it is.

because CNN will keep saying it is a referendum
on Obama.I am not sure that is true and of course
the Republicans are going to say it is a comeback.
I think CNN is overanalyzing the elections. I say
F for 360 as well it was live for 2 hours that was
just not necessary. It was not even a national
election. That is why old media is dying anything
for ratings.

more.CNN says this election matters. Only
if you live in Va or NJ.It is like the blind leading

ReplyDeleteI don't consider myself conservative, but at least I'm not alone, when it comes to this movement which has become, yes, annoying. Sorry if this offends, but not all of us approve of the use of the word "marriage" when it come to same sex partnership.
Accept the word "union" or move to a place like Denmark.

CNN is choosing to stick with something that
is clearly not working. Stevie Wonder can see
this. Maybe some kids fresh out of college
could take over CNN that could not do any
worse than Klein. Heck they would probably
do a better job.I say CNN will be # 4 again.
They can't help themselves and it is leading
to the downfall of CNN.
I live in the tri-state area and the elections had nothing what so ever to do with a referendum, one way or the other, on the Obama Administration. These were all purely local issues about high property taxes in NJ, and a third term for Bloomberg who outspent his opponent by leaps and bounds. He happens to be a good mayor runs NYC like a business and most of the city dwellers like him, so it didn't matter. But those issues had nothing what so ever to do with the rest of the nation.

Klein is at it again . There is an article in the
ReplyDeleteLA Times.CNN is likely to get a new challenger
when it comes to 24/7 news next year. Rumor
has that Bloomberg is becoming a 24/7 channel
next year and that they are adding more news.
With large chunks of international news. I have
seen former CNN people on Bloomberg. Ted
Turner is right and someone needs to listen.
They need to give Jack Gray his own show.

The recent ratings for 360 should be a wake up
ReplyDeletecall for CNN. 360 fans are sick of the politics.
People sitting on their butts saying blah blah
blah is just boring television and CNN viewers
obviously don't want that. News and information
that is the name of the game.CNN is one of the
top searches on Google with the tragic shootings
at Ft Hood. People like the content and info that
CNN provides. If you are a political animal you
will watch Fox or MSNBC. There is a wide open
field for people who just want to find out what
is going on in the world. That is the forte of
CNN, it can bring the world to you right in
your home. Perhaps it is time to shift the
power back to all of the journalists and staff
who go out and bring you the stories without
interference from management. At some point
you have to trust your people. The time is now
for someone to come up with a formula other
than ideological slants to the news.
Memo to CNN : you must drop the Twitter hour.
