  1. Is CNN trying to tell us something having Lance Bass co-hosting?
With all the people looking for promotion, this is the only co-host they could find?
Also hope Kathy learned her lesson last year and doesn't feel the need to go "blue," during her routine with Anderson. People who are really funny, don't need to go that far for laughs.

  2. Our favorite 360 producer now has more than
1 million followers on Twitter. Jack Gray and
more of the crew need to get on the air along
    with Anderson and Erica.

There seem to be a lot of anonymous posters
who just like to complain. Nobody is forcing
    you to watch CNN.

I for one will be watching on New Year's
Eve. It is a New Year's celebration. No one
is thinking about news during this time of
    year.

  3. Happy New Year to all of the people at CNN.
While I don't agree with some of things airing
on the network, CNN is still my favorite news
channel. Hoping for an amazing 2010 for CNN.
I think maybe it is year 5 for the New Years
special. I will be watching it instead of all of
    the others.

  4. With some programming changes CNN will be
just fine.MSNBC is finishing ahead of CNN in
the demo in prime time not viewers. If CNN
brings in some new show and refocus on new
innovative ways of story telling they will be
just fine. Clearly changes will be made and
we just have to wait and see what happens.

  5. CNN follow the news and not the noise. Less
talk and more news and pictures. Bring back
the noon international news hour but do it
7 days a week. Also let your reporters and
photojournalists travel the world and hit the
streets to bring us stories we can't get from
any of the others. In a nutshell be original.

  6. @11:46 AM: In case you didn't notice, there are ALL anonymous posters here, both positive and negative and if CNN was doing that great, it wouldn't be in fourth place. I guess people are taking your advice, in droves.

  7. The ratings on NYE for CNN is usually good because they really have little competition from the other networks.

  8. "Our favorite 360 producer," I for one, don't even know who Jack Gray is, so don't assume he's my favorite, and if he's the reason 360 usually has such a poor show, he definitely isn't my favorite.

  9. Spud says it best at ICN both CNN and MSNBC
have problems. CNN at night with the demo,
MSNBC during the day. Only 2 networks grew,
that would be FNC and HLN. I personally don't
think the place for politics is working for the
people over at MSNBC. That said I hope CNN
just keeps the politics on TSR and SOU and
definitely give each show it's identity and not
the same re-hash over and over again. Let
American Morn and all of the news hours have
their own correspondents to give each show
it's own identity, Let's hope CNN drops the
crawl and go with real time news. All day
long as they get news in, real time is
where things are going.I hope CNN has
a logo and banner redo. Too often things
interfere with the video. If you say you are
the worldwide news leader show me, give
the goods and live up to what your ads say.
IMO CBS has the best digital look and no
one comes close. At this point it will come
down to the moves that management will
make at both CNN & MSNBC. They need to
give way less face time to the pundits and
more to their very own people. One reason
why I feel there is so much confusion on
health care is that right after you see a
story or discussion a commercial airs and
is throwing out all kinds of accusations.
That is a problem : if your network is
making millions on health care, can you
be objective ? The world we live in now
people actually create media and trust
the main stream less because they play
with the facts and don;t keep things real.
Personally, I never liked the solo anchor
because that can be tricky. I hope CNN
also I hope CNN become the first fully
    aggregated news channel. For example,
the big health stories of the day. Have an
info graphic in and out of commercial.
CNN has to re-invent itself and send
really strong signals that they have done
this. Let me explain how I envision real
time working : if Mac is coming out with
a new tablet and the news happens at
11 am slide the anchor over and show
the news that is happening every hour
as soon as it gets in and is confirmed.
Also to have the digital look use the
texting look that people relate to,
who doesn't send a text these days.
People are also talking less on phones
    dot to this.

Also you notice that whenever you go
on line there is always pics with banners
of what might interest you. Also use this
as a format to get more news by simply
running this before the break. Develop
a multi-media player for all of the
packages that air on CNN. Think about
in terms of I-tunes , there is a media
bar. On the left the total time and to
the right the remaining time. This also
applies to anything you watch on line.
TV news looks like a dinosaur.

  10. In answer to your question, Who doesn't text these days?" I don't and a whole generation my age....baby boomers don't. I think I'm tech savy compared to my neighbors who don't even have cell phones. Yikes, in this day an age, but they do exist, and to make matters worse, they watch CABLE NEWS....

  11. Poor Erica Hill had only 90,000 viewers in the demo watching her on 360 Friday. True it was a bad nite for cable news all the way around, but when you have less than 100,000 viewers, fade out.

  12. Well it looks as though MSNBC will be trying
imitate HLN. They will be going to solo anchors
after the morning political shows and have opinion
starting at 4 and hour before HLN starts. Morning
Express finished ahead of MSNBC on Friday.
HLN is now clearly # 2 in the demo when it comes
to morning shows. Some of the things being talked
about here are already happening on HLN. Heck,
even Diane Sawyer now has a hip digital look.
I think ABC is going for the BBC look that seems
more of a theatre experience.. CNN has to
    upgrade with graphics, banners, etc.
I also hope that in 2010 CNN will stop trying
to politicize everything. People are so over
this. On the 360 blog today there is a very
interesting post from Dr Gupta about the
e-mails he received during CNN's coverage
of the health care vote.He said the people
could care less about the politics they wanted
to know what i meant for them.CNN should
    really listen.
