  1. Why is CNN just letting Larry King fade away
and 360 stinks tonight.30 minutes of nothing
but useless information. the latest example of
how cable news only focuses on the same of
cast of characters who say stupid things that
only the people running these networks care
about. Way to tell your viewers nothing that
    is even close to newsworthy.

  2. According to this, CNN is off by approximately 300,000 viewers in the 9pm hour and 200,000 viewers in the 10pm hour, but last Friday, the day before 9/11, 360 was off by easily a million and a half viewers to FOX's special presentation on 9/11.
I happened to watch FOX NEWS on this 9/11, because they SHOWED reruns of the actual day, which for some reason, CNN did little of.
Yes, they did broadcast the tributes, but we wanted to see the real MCCOY.
Dr. Phil was on LKL and said he still hasn't gotten over that day, and liked seeing the visceral tape of that fatal 9/11. Guaranteed he didn't watch it on CNN.
Shame on them for not recognizing that that day is so very sacred.

  3. I still believe CNN should go with a women's news
show at 8. Have women from CNN, CNN I, HLN &
CNN. com and lady reporters do a fast-paced
news program like Morning Express. That is a true
alternative to Countdown,O'reilly and of course
Nancy Grace. Women are highly interested in the
news and executives are keeping their heads
buried in the sand on this one.3 or 4 women of
diverse ethnic backgrounds each night can have
a huge impact and be a ratings winner. Name one
news show that is targeting women on cable
news. The music would be tied to the news
subjects and songs you know women relate
    to and understand.

  4. I am willing to bet the ratings for 360 will
not be too good considering the lack of
news.An interesting study from Pew came
out yesterday and it turns out that people
are consuming more news than ever. Hint
CNN this is were you should invest heavily.
    Reporting and newsgathering. Does anyone
come close to CNN or Time Warner when it
comes to content and affiliates ? The answer
is no. Mashable has the whole study along
with an interesting item about social media
    and journalists.CNN should view their
viewers as a community to reach out to
and find out what the public is watching
when it comes to news. I am willing to
bet it is a goldmine for the news that
people are really interested in and not
the talking heads. At some point let;s hope
CNN will stop going at FNC viewers, who
won't turn the channel and go for the
tens of millions of potential viewers.
CNN simply needs to become a 24/7 news
source and the world''s largest content
provider courtesy CNN just spend some
    time with us each day.

  5. I too wondered why 360 had Donald Trump
on as the lead. It was a big mistake. 9/11
should have been the focus for CNN. In a
nutshell they really blew it.I really don't get
Larry King these days either.CNN did a
real disservice when it came to their 9/11
coverage. It was lacking in many ways. TVN
now has the Saturday numbers and it is
safe to say that football we affect weekend
ratings. It will be interesting to see what
happens during the week.I flipped the
channel to a repeat of Countdown right
away when it comes to 360. Last week
360 was disappointing and Monday was
    no improvement.

  6. True story. Some 19 yr old a Stanford makes
Youtube Instant in 3 hours and gets a job offer
from Google. These are the people CNN should
be looking to to set up a system on CNN.com
and the 360 blog. Just think about this what
if I could go to CNN.com or the 360 blog and
find out the exact time when a story would be
airing.CNN needs to go after people like this
and not pundits and former politicians and a
tabloid journalist. That is a no brainer ,who
is more valuable to your company,Elliot
Spitzer and Piers Morgan are generating
about as much excitement as catching the
    flu.

  7. Maybe if 360 steps up they can at least
top Greta in the demo. The Monday ratings
are in and there was a less than 100,000
in the demo. 360 had less than the half the
audience of Greta. I think Rachel is slipping
because she is getting more into opinion
and not doing much news. 360 has a golden
opportunity here and it can be a huge shift.

    ReplyDelete
  8. While it is true that demo numbers were down all across the board for Monday nite, FOX TOTALS still flatlined 360... and for the 11pm hour AC had 96,000
    people watching him.
We all could make a youtube video and get more than 96,000 viewers...that's less than 100,000 viewers! Very Sad.

    ReplyDelete
  9. 360 ratings won't go up if the keep giving
a crazy amount of time to panels. How many
times do people have to repeat the same thing
over and over again. 15 is enough already.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Youtube beats all of the cable channels hands
down because it gets a billion hits a day.
Cable news channels viewers are older and
shrinking..CNN needs to commit to journalism
like the NY Times. All of a sudden it is very
popular with people under 30 because it is
good journalism and you don't have to put
up with annoying people. Cable news is just
a extension of the left and right behaving
like a group of 5 year olds. It is getting old
and that is why old media is dying.

  11. It will be interesting to see if Anderson will
see a bigger bump in viewers when the new
10 pm show starts on MSNBC. 360 got too
repetitive last night. The ratings will be down.
If 360 starts beating Greta in the demo it is
a big deal. However, 360 won't get there by
not doing news.Is Anderson the face of news
or the face of chatter.360 should be the ultimate
news experience. Original reports, national and
international news and interviews that matter.
I even think the shot should be replaced by
at least 3-5 viral videos of the day.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I was wondering why Anderson never had a
conversation with John King. It makes me
wonder is CNN is kicking their reporters to
the curb and going with the pundits. That
is not a smart move. I think CNN is facing
the possibility of 2 shows in prime time
coming in with less than 100, 000 in the
demo.CNN has been doing talk talk and
talk and that is why people are turning the
channel. There should be someone who has
the job to develop shows for CNN. RIght
now it is just one failure after the other.
    No more crappy shows CNN.

    ReplyDelete
  13. CNN should listen to Bill Maher. Last night
Maher said he constantly uses his blackberry to
keep up with the news to find out what is going
on. Well, you won't get that if you watch cable
news. CNN is failing because they are forgetting
that they are suppose to be a news channel.CNN
has too much analysis that could be wrapped up
    in 10 minutes.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I do not believe that CNN is kicking "John King" to the curb and Anderson in fact DID have more than one conversation last nite with John King.
John King has political savy and CNN knows that and if you watched the entire program, which you obviously did not, you would have seen John King report to AC a few times.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Well the ratings are in for last night and I
don't think anyone really got a bump. I
think people will tune in on election day
    when things really matter.

I did think Larry King would have done better
with Bill Maher, but hey Larry has not seen
decent ratings in quite some time.So for him
    it was better than usual.

What is up with the Ed Show. He beat Wolf
by more than 300,000 at 6. If MSNBC ever
moves him to 7, John King will get smoked
    worse than he is now.

If Rachel builds up a million viewer advantage
at 9 against CNN, it will keep the 10 pm
show in front of 360. CNN should have
made better choices. The day the Spitzer
show starts look for CNN to lose big to
MSNBC.If CNN is down by the wide of a
margin against MSNBC before 8, things
    are not looking to good.

HLN is falling way back from the pack.
People just are not digging Nancy or Joy
these days. Things are heading south for
    both CNN networks.

Finally, is it me or does CNN seem to be
    having trouble booking decent guests.

    ReplyDelete
  16. We might as well stop watching CNN now.
It is very easy to see CNN will be 3 hours
of boring talk and overanalysis and not
worth wasting any time watching. WHy
would CNN try to connect 360 with the
2 new shows they have coming is beyond
me. You would think they learned that
lesson the hard way by trying to connect
360 & Campbell Brown. Judging by the
lack of comments on the blog tonight,
I am thinking it will not bode well for 360.

    ReplyDelete
  17. You are right. Eliot Spitzer, though bright, does not resonate with the viewers. He lacks punch and comes across as dry and humorless.
Why wasn't his co-host with him?
She also seems to lack something.
Spitzer is making appearances on 360 because it is/was the only show CNN had going for it, until now.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Anon 12:53 I thought it was just me.
Parker/Spitzer is lacking and will be
a flop. The questions is how long will
CNN take to pull the plug on this one.
Why would you even put another show
on politics for a full hour right after
John King.I too am wondering if CNN
is looking at the HLN model for CNN.
That is a disaster and CNN's latest
    moves will have huge consequences.
360 was truly bad last nght. It started
out strong but for 30 minutes after that
it was nor worth watching I watched the
Outlaw and kept turning back to see
if CNN would end the viewer suffer and
they kept going and going with this.CNN
is forgetting one thing about the tea party.
They have to be registered Republicans to
vote in primaries so these people are not
growing the voting numbers an there is
not proof that this is the public at large.
CNN falsely claims that there is anti-
incumbency but majority of the candidates
    are incumbents.I know I won't be watching
CNN much these days and 360 is trying my
    patience.

  19. My favorite morning show is the Daily Buzz.
I can't take cable news anymore in the morning.
IMHO the Daily Buzz is what CNN should be until
    noon.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I don't understand why management is
messing around with 360. Leave them
alone and let them do their own thing,360
is the only thing CNN has going for it now
and management can't leave well enough
alone. Man, what is wrong with these people.
The better have a replacement ready to go
when the Spitzer show does not even register.
C'mon, who are we kidding it's CNN. They
will think people want 3 hours of Rick Sanchez
again. Rick's List does not even need to be
    on CNN at all.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I would like to see a really fun news show
before 360. It would be cool though if CNN
would be just news, information and interesting
from 4 am to noon and have the packages for
noon and beyond, In the morning you love to
have music and news. On Daily Buzz the music
never stops for 3 hours and it is fun.If there is
a major news story, that is something different.
In the morning you are heading out to school,
work or whatever. The last thing on your mind
is politics and I am sure politics won't be the
center of your day.i say it would get higher
ratings than that Spitzer show. People need
a break from constant politics and talking
    heads. It makes boring television.

    ReplyDelete
  22. 360 was once a fun, informative news show with
cool music and CNN stopped all of the fun. That
would be one way to get people to watch the news
that would never consider watching the news. It is
all about presentation and innovation. No more
crawl. Have a video bar for all packages and just
look like an enjoyable news channel to watch.
Daily Buzz is the best morning show hands down.
Yes you do the news but make it a fun experience
for your viewers. Unfortunately, CNN has just
invested heavily in ideology and punditry. On
the last day of the primary season, Rick's
Lists was 4th. CNN does not seem to be
getting the viewers message. They don't
    like it and won't watch.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I will no longer watch TSR. Jack Cafferty has
endorsed the tea party. That is unprofessional
from someone who asks political questions.
That is exactly why the show in heading down.
People think Jack has turned into Lou Dobbs.
CNN is afraid of the tea party and it shows.
Let's see if they cover the Stewart/Cobert
rallies which is the truth and not some activists
who punk CNN into just focusing on them and
not what is really going on.

    ReplyDelete
  24. CNN should go with Conor Knighton at 8.
Just like the Daily Show he sticks it to the
media. Infomania even has a segment they
call news, not news. I think a fun news show
anchored by the women at CNN would be
great right before 360. Parker Spitzer &
Piers Morgan sound pretty lame.CNN needs
to really work on their reporting and facts.
Too much wrong information is being given
out by CNN. I think someone had a great
analogy the other day. CNN getting out of
the news biz is like ESPN not focusing on
sports. You can see this is not going to
    end well for CNN.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I think CNN will regret rather quickly having
opinion instead of going heavy with real news
in prime time. For months now, CNN has been
going deeper and deeper in opinion mode and
it needs to stop now. It is is absolutely horrible
and pretty pathetic. Journalism does not matter.
Looking at the ratings for Wednesday, CNN is
dropping below 500 thousand viewers for 3
hours of prime time. That's not a good thing.

    ReplyDelete
  26. It will be interesting to see how Lawrence O'Donnell will effect 360.
O'Donnell seems to have backing or they wouldn't have given him the spot. He says he'll probably not put a dent in Greta's ratings, but how he will fair against Cooper is up for grabs.
AC beat Olberman repeats about 50% of the time. But it was not live programming.
AC never seems to beat Olberman or Maddow and for the most part, they all have the same base.
We shall see. It is an alternative for those looking just for news.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Roland Martin must give Jon Stewart the credit for his "United State of Ascots" promo that he seems to be selling, as a "hot property item," according to TVN.
It was Jon, after all who brought his ascot wearing on his own show,
and subsequently called attention to it.
No one would even have cared what Roland was wearing or when.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Wish 360 had spent more time on the President's town hall meeting.
The only clip that was shown, was the one of the Afro-American woman who said she was disappointed that the "change" Obama spoke about during his campaign, has not yet happened. This same clip was also shown on John King's program.
I'm certain he had more to say than just what was shown.
    Hope MSNBC repeats this meeting.

    ReplyDelete
  29. CNN's 2 hours of yuck before 360 will make
it difficult for the show to top MSNBC at 10.
CNN is boring down 360 for Parker Spitaer
and Piers Morgan. CNN turned itself into a
network nobody wants to watch. The ratings
are in for yesterday and 360 had 610,00
viewers. 360 will not grow with panels and
it will be interesting to see if people will
still turn to MSNBC if 360 is way too boring.
The 2 news shows will trail MSNBC badly.
The new programs airing on the networks
seems to be having some effect.

    ReplyDelete
  30. There is a great article featuring Aaron Brown.
In the article he sums up best what is wrong
with cable news and why they are becoming a
turnoff. It is no longer news but politics and
fake debate. Only the ideologues and a regular
cast of characters are on cable news. It is no
realness or value to what CNN is doing right
now and CNN needs a correction course to
get back to journalism and reporting. They
are alienating viewers by leaving them out.
The recent moves made by CNN is a big
disaster and they may not recover.
