  1. Right now Ken Jautz has to rework the anchor
shifts and I think the weekend people will be
involved. Do you move Don Lemon, TJ Holmes
or Fredericka Whitfield to 3 ? Or maybe bring
John Roberts into the mix right before TSR. If
you move Don, will Fred or TJ get his time
slots. If you move TJ who replaces him in the
morning. If you move Fred to Don's time slots,
will you move TJ to Fred's current schedule.
It is as if everything is going wrong for CNN
at the worst possible time. The suits waited
too long to allow Jautz to turn things around
anytime soon. Also, CNN will have to deal
with a backlash from the recent hires. In
wake of what just happened with Rick Sanchez,
maybe opinion is not a route you want to
take. People saw the Sanchez meltdown
coming a mile away. How did management
miss this. Let's hope Ken Jautz is better at
    picking anchors and managing CNN.

  2. Sadly, CNN is about to become the talking head
channel and they are going to fall way behind
MSNBC as a result. TV news is about video and
news stories not opinion.I really don't get the
;logic at CNN these days. People don't react to
boring talk. I am not feeling the Pete Dominick
    show.

  3. CNN is now the cable no news channel.
CNN no longer will bring you the news.
CNN will now bring you 24 hrs of talk
& opinion and nothing of worth watching.
It is official I am turning my back on CNN
just as they have done me as a viewer.
Yesterday there was a rally in DC and CNN
completely ignored it. That's right if it is
not the tea party, Sarah Palin 's tweets or
Glenn Beck CNN does not think you need
to know about it.CNN is now irrelevant.
    Boycott CNN.

  4. CNN is so last century. The news and journalism
has died. The channel founded by Ted Turner
has thrown in the towel. Who will step up to
fill the void. Now there is no channel for people
to turn to for news.Oprah, Google, Apple, FB,
Twitter. Let's see who will make sure Americans
can find out what is going on and essential
information in an increasingly global society.
CNN has officially dumbed down the news by
    doing no news.

  5. If CNN is looking to get a Daily Show type
program, go with Infomania with Conor
Knighton. He is a Yale grad and the show
is called the kid brother of the daily show.
It is an all out assault on the media at large
and funny and smart. Pete from Jon King is
not funny. A Different Spin with Mark from
Blink 182 has a better show on Fuse than
    Pete Dominick.

  6. Newsflash : CNN Jon Stewart is the most
trusted man in news because he is truly
independent. He doesn't have pundits on
the payroll, nor is he interested in spreading
falsehoods. What Stewart calls out as not
news CNN tries to turn into a news story.
Question : have you ever heard anyone say
did you see the panels on CNN ? Television
is a visual medium. CNN will be giving you
people they choose to come on and run
their mouths and they wonder why they
are losing the credibility battle with the
Daily Show.. Just open your eyes.

  7. Okay CNN here is your chance. It seems CNN
is trying to get something new for the weekend.
Test a news show for women live from 9-11.
Have Fredericka, Brooke and Alina Cho as hosts.
I say this 3 because they are smart women in
the news and are fashionistas. If this show catches
on you have a show you can easily move to the
weekday schedule. During bumps have music
featured that you know are about women and
what women can relate to on a daily basis,
Women need a news show that is a mix of
    news, national and international. interesting
topics and the stories that all of these women
have done that are clearly aimed at women.
Also, topics you might see on Gal Time
other websites out there for women as
well as the topics in mags for women.
They can have guests and do interviews as
well and do some in studio fun things. This
is something that can be done as soon as
next week. Just use the people who work
with Don Lemon at 10 on weekends and
offer the show live on Saturday and Sunday.
Just an all around fun news show and not
    the norm.

  8. I hope we can get back the noon hour of
CNN International. i am with Ted Turner
on this one, global news is essential.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Alina Cho is one woman I would not watch.
You have to be very careful which women you pick.
They have to be like Soledad O'Brien, smart, educated, and non-threatening. When you get someone like Brooke, who is light and fluffy and was an entertainment reporter, the viewer doesn't take what she is saying seriously.
We found out one thing about Ken Jautz...he's not afraid to fire people, especially ones who cross the line and are an embarassment.

  10. CNN should bring us a new style and approach
to the news. There are photojournalists, writers
producers, etc.CNN is a large news organization.
Enough with talking head central. are you telling
me no news is happening and the only thing
we need to know each day is what people think.
That is called useless information and we
are not getting any satisfaction from CNN.
What does it take to get some real news.
Content is king and needs to be fresh with
new items constantly added into the mix
as the days progress.I am sorry laziness has
set in at CNN and it shows on the air big time.
How is that vital information.CNN should build
a set that is like a loft. A fun place to tune in
each day for news and information.I am tired
of regular people being ignored by cable news.
An area with books and monitors where you
can see the news coming in as it is happening.
Unless you are angry,a criminal or doing bad
stuff you will not be on the news, Are you
telling me there are not millions of stories
in a nation of 310 million. Arm all of your
staff with cell phones, every phone has a
camera these days. Iphones or Ipods for
live shots and face to face interviews. You
can stumble upon interesting things going
on but you have to find it and not limit it
to a few. The news is live on the streets
and it is not being televised. I want to see
    newspapers. Ipads laptops and desktops.
How about the ultimate news experience.

The coolest thing I have seen on CNN is the
grid they use on AM. How about making an
app that drags the video for stories to a
bin you add it to a timeline that is moving
and you can see each story as it plays.
Don't forget the media bar. i am sick of
the jumbo graphics and banner. Drop the
crawl when you run video or packages.
Adopt a crisp clean look like ABC. The
only thing they have on the screen most
of the time when a story is airing is the
ABC bug. Less is better. Don't cover up
the video or graphics. When you put a
graphic or video on the screen it is getting
lost and swallowed up by pac man graphics.

From 9-5, how about dropping the solo anchor
format. Go with 3-4 hosts and cover a wide range
of topics. Limit politics to TSR and John King, Don't
even get me started about Elliot Spitzer. Another
hour of politics is the last thing CNN needs, let
alone an ideologue hour.In the era of Face Book,
You Tube & Twitter not a smart move at all.
Increasingly people are putting news on the
web. Look like you enjoy the news and bringing
viewers the world into their homes. No more
divisive journalism. Just bring us news stories
we get it/Analysis and spin are 2 different
things. Peter Bergen is one who gives us
analysis. The pundits do not. There is a big
difference. Your viewers are not stupid.Stop
living in a fantasy world in which you really
believe if we do what FNC & MSNBC are doing
and talk all of the time people will watch.
Wrong. Try some fresh ideas. A wide range
of news stories mean more than a wide
range of opinion.BIg deal. In this day and
time people can have their own broadband
channel and live stream events. Cable
news is becoming dated and out of touch.
Face Book is projected to have more than
a billion users in 2011. FB did not blow up
doing what everyone else was doing. It
    offered people something they wanted.
Now even Google is concerned about FB.
CNN needs to be the news alternative and
quit manufacturing news stories that are
not news. Why do you insist on making
your viewers turn off CNN rather than
having viewers tune in to watch CNN.

We will be posting more later.

  11. I am watching Jim Walton more than Ken
Jautz. It is Jim Walton who will decide the
makeup of CNN. One problem for CNN is
continuity. I want the news fast and clean.
Starting tonight Countdown & TRMS ratings
will rise and CNN will be possibly 4th. Parker
Spitzer will not work.CNN just gave me 2
more reasons to turn the channel.

    ReplyDelete
  12. CNN should go with a Nightline type show
at 8 Instead of Parker/Spitzer. Keith & Rachel
thank CNN very much for sending their ratings
through the roof.CNN will now be 5th at 8.
I really don't understand why CNN can't do
one show without left and right.

  13. CNN is no longer live for 3 hours of prime
time. That is a national disgrace. Don't have
a promo calling yourself the worldwide news
leader if you are not even live for 3 hours is
    prime time.CNN becomes more o a laughing
stock each day. CNN fire Elliott Spitzer.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Boycott CNN.Parker/Spitzer is must skip tv.
Refuse to watch the new show.

    ReplyDelete
  15. One reason Rachel Maddow is successful is
that she constantly looks into the camera and
treats you like you are in the room. Watching
CNN, you are treated like you are not in the
room and being ignored. At some point CNN
management will understand this and end
the people talking over each other and
annoying viewers.I am just about to give up
on CNN. 360 is nothing but politics tonight.
Content is really not that good on the show.
360 really needs to get back to Tom Foreman
doing the packages on Raw Politics. I am
going to sleep now, 360 made me sleepy.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I am just not into CNN these days.CNN does need
a free format with the news from 6am-noon. No
packages until then and give your people time to
to add production elements to stories. You engage
your viewer by asking questions like: percentage
of Americans attend 2 year colleges or the average
cost of a 2 year community college. That is way
better than are you angry,do you hate someone.
CNN will not connect with viewers doing pov
talking head shows. Boring, boring and boring.
The negativity on CNN is a huge turn off. Have
a segment called real news all day long. A way
to work in more news. Presentation is a key
factor as well. They really need to fix the
graphics and banners that obstruct your view.
For goodness sake CNN, ever heard of full
screen video. Later today when the ratings
are in , I am guessing that CNN will badly
trail FNC & MSNBC. Come on CNN, Elliot
Spitzer. CNN does have a bad habit of
putting people on the air who are too full
of themselves. Is putting Parker Spitzer on
as your lead show the dumbest idea or
what. That is exactly why CNN is in such
big trouble. The network can't distance
itself from all of the silliness and discourse.
That means CNN is really a conduit to
spreading the ignorance virus. I am sure
this is not what Ted Turner set out to do.
Boy does CNN ever fit the definition of
what Einstein says it is. Repeating the same
thing over and over again and expecting
different results. No matter how CNN tries
to pass talking heads as news, it will not
work. CNN has been doing opinion/pov
for more than 2 years now. Judging by
the ratings, Stevie Wonder could see it is
    not working. Turn the channel.

    ReplyDelete
  17. The NY Post has the best article on the Spitzer
show. Arrogant and trying to get in the spotlight.
We all know Elliott is so jealous of Tim Geithner.
Wonder why ? TG is better looking and smarter,
speaks Chinese and Japanese. Beat Spitzer out
for all the jobs he ever wanted Somewhere, TG
is going Eliott who and LOL. Spitzer is the last
person Obama needs to listen to. This guy
spent thousands of dollars on hookers.CNN
has a disaster on it's hands.

    ReplyDelete
  18. CNN is confused between opinion and content.
They are not the same.CNN needs to be the 1
channel where you get it all news, international
    or global,science and technology,history, sports
and topics galore. This can be done by using
CNN reporters and the web. There is so much
content out there that is is virtually impossible
to get it all. That is where CNN should come in
and give you more news than you can handle
and every hour is jammed pack to hold your
attention and make you want to stay with CNN.

    ReplyDelete
  19. @8:01AM: Having read the Post article, I believe you're right, but the disaster isn't Spitzer...it's the guy who hired him and gave Rick Sanchez 3 hours only to be slammed with a racial slur.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Somebody better have a backup plan. The
tea party hour aka Parker Spitzer is not
going to help CNN. How is talk a good thing
for CNN. While CNN was in talk mode overload
Countdown had the story of the house burning
down because the guy didn't pay $ 75. Which
of these stories do you think people will care
about the most.If we don't see this story and
the toxic sludge disaster on 360 that is not
a good thing.I say go with a Nightline type
show for the hour. CNN would be wise to
go with a women's news show at 9 against
Rachel Maddow. Joy Behar is tanking.

    ReplyDelete
  21. CNN = Client Number Nine. Might want
to rethink that and consider dropping
Piers Morgan why you are at it. Parker
Spitzer needs to be canceled rather
quickly. CNN can't afford to wait this out.
This show is being panned all around.

CNN people will not like Piers Morgan
replacing Larry King. What in the world
were they thinking.ABC polling just out
today shows way it is dumb for CNN to
hitch on to the tea party bandwagon.
    CNN messed up .
