  1. Happy New Year to the ATC team.
Keep up the good work on this blog.
It's great hearing other viewers views.

  2. Happy New Year all. This morning just out of
curiosity, I decided to see if any of the news
channels changed their look. MSNBC is doing
something very interesting and something that
is right. IMHO not having a banner while the
anchor is talking is smart. That means I have
to actually watch and listen. MSNBC now just
has the banner over video and interviews.
Smart move. Also, they are using music going
to all breaks. Even ad agencies understand
you have to use modern music for commercials..
CNN has to do something about the clutter.
Single banner would serve CNN well. The
problem with CNN is that you don't know what
you should be reading and after a while it
gets annoying.MSNBC is no longer blocking
the video. MSNBC gets it and is not afraid to
lose the banner.MSNBC is serious about taking
down CNN. Right now CNN is making it really
    easy for MSNBC.

  3. Let's hope that CNN will not miss a golden
opportunity. So many people want a real
news channel. If CNN does not want to be
a non factor they need to change corse
like last year. The plans for the new lineup
are a disaster in the making. Somebody at
    CNN better have a remedy.

  4. The 2011 cable news season officially kicks
off tomorrow. I will be looking to see if there is
a drop off of viewers for all of the cable news
networks.I have a feeling that January 2011 will
be ugly for CNN.I think more and more viewers
    will turn off CNN.

  5. I believe that CNN will be greeted with cheerful news, for the New Year.
Despite all the KG complaining, I bet a large number of viewers tuned in just to see what Kathy "didn't say."
And that will be the new "gimmick" going forward. Everyone will watch, not because she's talented, we know she's not, but because AC walks a tight rope with her, on a very short leash.
Sadly, this will become the "new reality show, for New Years Eve."
It can be called: What Will Kathy Not Say To Anderson?

  6. You guys really should take a look at a really
interesting post on TV By The Numbers. It turns
out that CNN was biggest loser when it comes
to viewers in prime time & day in all of cable
for 2010. That is exactly what happens when
you make a dramatic departure from the CNN
brand. Viewers don't like what CNN is doing
and are protesting. If that is not crystal clear
from the data provided by TV By The Numbers,
I don't know what is. Viewers don't like the
changes night or day.CNN owes it's viewers an
apology & should take to the airwaves to say
we let you down and we are recommitting to
the highest quality journalism that viewers
have come to expect from CNN over the years.
Enough already with the talking heads and
no news in prime time.FNC was also in the
top 5. Get the message. Viewers are so over
the left vs right crap about everything. CNN
should be finding ways to upgrade their
news resources instead of dumbing things
down to the lowest level. Content, in depth
original reporting and storytelling will set
    CNN apart from the others.

  7. Breaking News : John Roberts is jumping ship
to Fox. We now know why he has not been on
CNN for a couple of weeks. Something happened
between Roberts and CNN. At this point I have
lost count of the number of journalists who are
    bolting from CNN.

  8. CNN blew it. They should have gone with a
diverse group of women anchors & reporters
from all CNN properties. No politics or pundits.
Just a fast paced news show with interesting
topics thrown in the mix.A show like this
before 360 would be ratings gold. CNN goes
with Piers Morgan and nobody cares. Rotate
the hosts and quit ignoring women. Just like
Parker Spitzer, people are so not watching
Piers Morgan. Too bad CNN missed their
chance. Oprah gets that there is nothing for
women to watch on tv. She is already getting
ratings topping CNN.52 % of the population
    is the missing ingredient.

  9. The first 360 for the new year was pretty
decent and had various topics. What is a
surprise is that 360 is not re-airing at 11.
CNN had to decided to repeat Parker
Spitzer. C'mon CNN. If people aren't watching
at 8 they won't watch after 360. Cancel
Parker Spitzer already. Go for Conor Knighton
or George Strombolopolous at 11. A Parker
Spitzer rerun really CNN.A show that can
clearly be considered to be a flop gets to
run twice. Why is CNN torturing the few
    viewers they have left.

  10. Anon 12 :57 you are right. The duo of Anderson
& Cathy beat FNC for New Year's according to
TVN. I really enjoyed Isha Sesay working the
crowds. Is she coming back to 360. I'm hoping
that Isha becomes a part of 360. She would be
a great replacement for Erica Hill. I was wondering
why she is not doing the news headlines on 360.
