  1. Honestly, with all do respect, I think CNN has over done it with the shooting coverage. I understand that this isn't CNN International, but 72 people were just killed in a plane crash in Iran and that was BARELY covered. Also, 15 headless bodies were found in Mexico.

Larry King just tweeted something I love: "I don't know what caused the tragedy in Tuscon yesterday, but i do know that inflamed broadcasting didn't help any."

AND: "There is so much breaking news on cable TV that I get excited when it's not breaking news!"

I love CNN but I have to agree with Larry. The Breaking News banner is used TOO often. Hopefully with the new graphics that debuted today (which I'm not fond of), they will take their banners into consideration.

On a lighter note, I'm loving the updated, new pictures of the CNN personalities on the right column of the site! (Glad that my suggestion was taken from a previous post comment!) Now all you need is a new All Things CNN logo!

  2. I am wondering why none of the big names
    at CNN are in Arizona.

  3. I am hoping that 360 will be live for 2 hours
and no interview with Pee Wee Herman.360
needs to be a show that leads the way. Go
    for smart intelligent conversation. Anderson
Cooper is suppose to be on the level of Brian,
Katie & Diane.AC needs to be live in Arizona.

So far Tj & Kiran seem to be giving AM a little
boost.I think they should have a loft look for
the morning. Have an gathering area with a
table and chairs. Sort of a living room area.
A media room area and a coffee break area,
have the posters in a frame with headlines
from CNN. com each morning on the wall.
Hey they can even be updated during the
show it take no time to print a poster from
CNN.con or newspapers on a printer.
I think CNN is moving toward a more digital
look. So these are just my thoughts. Let's
hope that Zain gives the AM duo a boost.
Hooray for Zain.A fresh round of programs
beginning at 4 am could help as well.

  4. Any word on where Anderson Cooper will be
tonight ? The 360 blog has a bunch of crap on
it with Pee Wee Herman and Piers Morgan. What
is wrong with these people ? How about Anderson
talking with those doctors who saved lives, the
heroes who saved lives and the victims of this
shooting. C'mon CNN get real. Today not one
person I came in contact with talked about Pee
Wee or Morgan. We want to see the news that
matters. It is what happened in Arizona.

  5. @6:21PM "anderson needs to be in AZ. "360 should lead the way."
Absolutely, positively, no doubt about it and if they choose to do that silly, ridiculous Pew Wee Herman interview any time this week, please all, vote with your remotes!!
Haiti was first in our hearts and minds LAST YEAR. NOW ARIZONA, IS FIRST IN OUR HEARTS AND MINDS.
Sometimes in the news bizz plans need to be changed to suit the situation.
If ratings are low for Haiti, guess our interests lie else where.

  6. John King is in Arionza but I believe his eye is swollen or the entire left side of his face.
Maybe an allergic reaction to something he ate....like peanuts.
Jessica Yellin is also in AZ with him, but Anderson is scheduled to be in Haiti for the first anniversary.

  7. John King is live in Tucson tonight. I have
nothing but praise for his excellent reporting
on a tough subject. He is striking the right
tone. John King seemed to nearly tear up
last night when they spoke of the 9 yr who
was killed.CNN does need to think about
what it is broadcasting. They are a conduit
to the hostility that is out there. CNN is just
drawn to anger and hatred. Say something
    inflammatory about President Obama you
get booked on CNN. Make crazy and hateful
comments you get face time on CNN.CNN
is trying to downplay their role. Some of
the topics from Jack on TSR have been
scary lately as well. Why is cable news the
place for extremists and hate speech.
    Thank goodness millions of Americans
reject this and won't watch cable news.

  8. Jon Stewart is right. Stewart has been the lone
voice on television calling for a change in tone
and rhetoric on CNN, FNC and MSNBC. Words
are cheap but can turn out to be so expensive.
There are consequences. Jon Stewart is the only
one with credibility on this subject. It is time to
    dump the pundits.

  9. Jon Stewart is a gem BUT he is part of the problem too. There aren't many on the Right who can listen to him without wanting to throw a brick through the TV. He mocks and belittles the Tea Party and the Republicans mercilessly and he is divisive. He needs to tone it down too.

  10. 360 was not bad tonight, The interview with
parents talking about picking out a casket
for their daughter brought tears to my eyes.
However, I do have one criticism. The parents
asked that their daughters' death not be political
fodder. I think Anderson should have followed
their wishes. These parents were gracious enough
to give him an interview. It just did not seem right
to go to pundits right after that. Was the rude
woman really necessary. David Gergen was trying
to talk and she would not let him. There was
once a time when Anderson would stop that.
It just did not seem right. People have to bury
their loved ones.CNN could be more respectful.

  11. TO ALL: Guess who's splitting up?
The source is the NYPost and I know we all will be soooo upset!
This also, is unconfirmed by CNN, so therefore its TRUE....Eliot and Spitzer.
Eliot is staying and I knew he would because he might have been naughty, but at least he knows something and he did run an important state, and Spitzer knew nothing and she said, "he ran right over her." No, really??
Someone else will be chosen, maybe from Fox. I hope it is a SHE.

  12. It does not matter. It is the show that
people don't like. The show needs to
be canceled. Why is CNN trying to save
the show. It can be whoever Spitzer and
people are not going to watch.CNN just
needs to understand, if you say you are
a news channel hire people to emphasis
that. People know crap when they see it.

  13. @11:41PM: That rude woman is Dana Loesch and she is constantly on 360as a paid contributor.
You are right about AC's question on politics being out of place to the grieving parents of the nine year old child.
At this point, would the father really KNOW, whose fault it was?
All he knows is his child is dead and Anderson, should have been a bit more sensitive to the situation.

    ReplyDelete
  14. @2:16pm: "People know crap when they see it."
Wrong. Some people know crap when they see it.
And Jon Stewart IS a gem and he has toned down his rhetoric for his last two shows, possibly out of respect for the victims, but also because he found absolutely nothing funny about cable and their broadcasting this particular horror.

  15. Larry King tweeted: "I don't know what caused the tragedy in Tucson, but inflamed broadcasting didn't help."
OK. I was a Larry King fan and still am. But knowing Larry, if he were still on the air, the very first guest he'd have on would be the VICTIMS who were there in Tucson....LK has now become a hypocrite. He was part of that "inflamatory broadcasting" on CNN for 25 years and he needs to be reminded of that.
