TDS 'Ragging' on CNN......Again

CNN's 'Early Start' with Ashley Banfield and Zoraida Sambolin was mentioned on The Daily Show earlier this week. Here's Jon Stewart's report:

  1. Ouch but brutally honest and true. CNN
management must not be watching their
own shows. CNN gives TDS more material
    than they can handle.

  2. As Jon said, "How can you help it.
    CNN is just "terrible."
This show with Ashleigh has to be far worse than Fox and Friends.
She's awful waking people up at all hours of the early morning just for ratings.
I say, before you pull Erin, pull Ashleigh. No one will notice because they're SLEEPING.

  3. Jon Stewart is always pointing out just how bad
CNN has become. Ironically, CNN keeps doing
the same stupid junk over and over again.

This is what happens when you have more pundits
than journalists, lack intelligence or substance. You
get stupid stunts. Where is the person in the room
who says, we are CNN we are suppose to be about
news. We don't have to be idiots.

CNN never leans anything. CNN is suppose to be
gathering news and they are a national joke and
a blazing example of how not to run a news
organization. Jon is a CNN viewer like many us.
He knows it is pure torture.CNN is terrible by
choice.CNN is in bigger trouble than ever.

  4. Hello, CNN stopped being a news organization for
quite some time now.. I was just trying to watch
Kyra and these words came out of her mouth : how
did Casey Anthony get pregnant. Why even bother
watching CNN. Jon Stewart was once a fan of CNN.
He expresses the frustration and anger for CNN
    viewers but CNN doesn't care.

    ReplyDelete
  5. The only silver lining is that Jon Stewart is being handed plenty of material for his show by CNN. The sad part is watching a once esteemed news organization become a parody of itself.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Preach on brother. Stewart is right. The real
journalists are being replaced by people on
the Beck, Breitbart & Red State payroll. They
are in the misinformation biz so Ken Jautz
decides to hire them for CNN because the
man hates news and has zero commitment
to serious journalism. Pundits should never
be a part of news coverage. That is why you
have reporters. We get a PTI ESPN knockoff
for pundits and more pundit games, It is an
    insult to viewers intelligence.

CNN dissed their viewers. Now they are about
to pay the price. If you try watching CNN for 5
minutes you know they stink. Yet they keep
repeating the same mistakes. It will take years
to fix this mess and CNN has not ever started
to fix problems. They are in denial. Do we
really need to see Erin Burnett as the dumb
cute chick ? The only reason she gets away
with that horrible show is because her bosses
    think it's cute.

  7. How come Anderson Cooper is not in Nome,
Alaska ? Back in the day 360 would have made
the journey. CNN does not have a reporter but
Ben Tracy from CBS is there. Go to NBC,CBS &
ABC News. CNN is terrible. Jon Stewart is 100 %
    correct. Content is terrible too.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Anderson Cooper is not in Nome Alaska because he got "bored" with the news.
He's too busy making funny faces with his friend Andy Cohen and acting stupid.
Come to think of it, he's just what CNN is looking for now.
    He fills the profile.
You get bored, follow your "bliss."

  9. I think I will soon be switching over from CNN to Al Jazeera English. They are doing what CNN used to do and what I miss. I will get to see Tony Harris too!

    ReplyDelete
  10. I am mad at CNN for ruining 360. Just call the
show pundit 360. 30 minutes of mindless talk
of the same crap you hear all day long on CNN.
Last night 360 finally lead with a news story.
The controversial pardons in Mississippi. The
uniqueness of 360 is gone it used to be about
the news but now CNN management has made
360 a dumping ground for dull pundits. Cmon
are we suppose to believe that there are is no
news worth reporting but politics and crime. I
am glad that CNN is a national joke.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Can Lizzie O'leary replace Erin Burnett now ?
Burnett is juvenile and immature. What is up
with the giggling ? Obviously, Erin Burnett
thinks she is funny but the rest of us know
better. Jay Rosen has the perfect description
for Out Front, wretched, embarrassing, nails
on chalkboard. CNN management should be
forced to watch CNN for 24 hours.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I hope Jon stewart starts taking Anderson to task
for using pundits for Keeping Them Honest. On
360 tonight Anderson claimed to be doing a KTH
segment on Bain . Yet he had James Carville & Bay
Buchanan. No joke, this really happened. That's why
KTH is also a national joke. Why not have Henry
Blodget from Business Insider. He is qualified to
talk about private equity firms. Anyone who says
the are interested in creating jobs is lying . They
are in it for the money. So now 360 are suppose to
be stupid. This is the lead on 360 on the same
day as some really big news from Pew Research
on income inequality. It looked like Anderson
    was defending Mitt Romney.

  13. You would think that CNN would listen to Jon
Stewart by now. Remember he went on Crossfire
and absolutely destroyed the show. What does
CNN do ? They keep trying to revive Crossfire in
2012. Jon Stewart has been doing this for years.
Spotlighting how terrible CNN has become. The
problem is that CNN does not realize it is terrible.
I hope he finally gets the attention of Jeff Bewkes.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Disgraceful CNN "Contributor" Dana Loesch has made some typically disgusting comments about the actions of the US Marines in Afghanistan. Amazing how CNN is not the least bit embarrassed that they hired Loesch, who's a loose cannon and a disaster waiting to happen.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Anderson Cooper could have talked with Lizzie
O'leary as well. It boggles the mind how CNN
has managed to convince themselves that the
pundits are the future of their network. Facts
are not essential nor is reporting or intelligent
conversation.. The pundits are what is sinking
CNN. They clearly are not a news channel. CNN
is an opinion/talk and misinformation network.
Just make stuff up and try to make it news.

Soledad's show will be a major league flop.
Instead of going with reporters from CNN,
CNN I & other news related publications,
writers, filmmakers, people who are actually
out their doing something, Soledad is having
    breakfast with pundits. America collectively
yawns. Look at the ratings for Starting Point.

You are right CNN tries to do Crossfire all day
long to stupid to realize that shows like that
have played out.No regard for content or news
events.CNN did not even bother to send any
reporter to Alaska. The only thing you will get
all day long is pundits. CNN is headed for a
    ratings disaster.

The news is not important to CNN. Neither are
viewers. No one will watch that crap. CNN needs
to drop the pundits. Try doing some news. If
CNN is not embarrassed by Outfront, they need
to be. On second thought , Lizzie is making a
big mistake coming to CNN. She will regret her
decision really soon. CNN management hates
their own journalists. Pundits are given a high
status and the journalists might a well be
refugees.Bloomberg is a much better operation.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Paling around with pundits worked so well with
John King that he can't even beat Rev Al. CNN
is terrible that is why no one watches CNN. You
know you are terrible when Rev Al beats your
entire prime time lineup. Just like pundits CNN
    is a dinosaur.

    ReplyDelete
  17. CNN fire the pundits now. I have a huge
headache after being subjected to pundits
arguing during a segment with Don Lemon.
It is a blazing example of how annoying and
obnoxious CNN is . CNN is too lazy. Relying
on pundits show a lack of ideas. MSNBC &
FOX have nothing to worry about. CNN is
great material for comedians. From bad to
worse and getting worser minute by minute.
You have to be pretty desperate to book Bay
Buchanan for 360. The ratings will be low,
    very low.

    ReplyDelete
  18. CNN doesn't care about Dana Loesch's behavior outside of their studio. They issued a statement saying that "her views are her own", but they FIRED Rick Sanchez for his comments that he made off of the network, her comments are just as bad but they are letting her slide, they don't care that her actions rub off on their reputation as a news organization. I'll be watching closely to see how they handle their other contributors if they say something controversial off of the show. What's going on with CNN management? It's disgusting.

    ReplyDelete
  19. CNN needs to understand that when regular
folks talk about CNN and Dana Loesch they
say CNN. You can't hide when you have her
on your so-called Best Political Team on TV.

Not only have you ruined the reputation of
your network, you are ruining the reputation
of CNN reporters.CNN made some bad hires
and now it is coming back to bite them.CNN
is not exactly doing itself any favors.

Bad decisions have consequences. I knew
when CNN announced Ken Juatz would be
replacing Jon Klein that CNN would self
destruct. He hired Glen Beck & Nancy Grace.

Who did you think he would hire for CNN ?
That's right, Crazy people. As Joe says on
MJ . What are they doing ? CNN is a joke on
MSNBC and Current TV as well. CNN gives
them plenty of material. Not to mention
dumb ideas like In The Arena & Out Front.
Now add Early Start & Starting Point to the
list of failures. Don't forget what Jautz did
to American Morning . Why does he still
have a job at CNN ?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Jon Stewart needs to take on Anderson Cooper for more reasons than just speaking to pundits every nite.
    I'm waiting patiently.
David Lettermen missed his opportunity when AC said to him, "pundits know nothing."
Then why have them on your show????
One thing about Jon, he knows just when to pounce, like a wild animal waiting for its prey.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Love Jon's expression on the clip...like "what's up with them?"

    ReplyDelete
  22. So now Piers Morgan thinks he can be like Jon
Stewart. There is something seriously wrong with
CNN Piers Morgan is trailing Hannity and Rachel
Maddow badly. He can't even be Larry King.

    CNN hire GEORGE STROUMBOULOPOULOUS. Dude
is as close to Jon as CNN can get. As a Jon Stewart
fan, I am ticked. Piers Morgan you are no Jon
    Stewart. What a jerk.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Dana Loesch needs to be given the boot like
yesterday. If Rick Sanchez and Octavia Nasr
lost their jobs at CNN so should she. How can
CNN defend those comments? You can't have
    her on your network.

CNN should be doing what CBS is doing with
the brand new morning show and CBS Evening
News. They are getting a lot of praise for their
strong commitment to news. It would be great
to see the news back on CNN.. It is about the
news, story-telling and the art of journalism.
Yes, skills are required. The Eye Opener & the
Closer are refreshing. Long ago I said CNN
should do news trailers. Television is a visual
    medium. Camera angles. writing, production
    content, music, photography, editing, etc.
are components that matter.CBS is being seen
as the defender of news. CNN is terrible.

    ReplyDelete
  24. CNN reporters and contributors are speaking out anonymously on Media Matters regarding Dana Loesch's outrageous remarks. One contributor made the point that CNN has been trying so hard to appeal to the Tea Party that they won't make any attempt to reprimand someone like Loesch or apologize for her ludicrous comments, so they definitely wouldn't consider firing her. Jausch hasn't helped CNN, but he's made things worse as far as credibility goes.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Prediction : CNN is coming apart at the seams.
If CNN is giving her money, they can't say it did
not happen here. This is a PR nightmare. This
is now at the level of Jim Walton. CNN is in the
middle of a reporter revolt. Walton will decide
if the reporters win. CNN is going to feel the
heat for this one. You have not seen anything
yet, The press is about to have a filed day with
CNN. Why are they afraid to fire her ?

    ReplyDelete
  26. This is what happens when you give pundits more
airtime than real journalists. She is being called a
CNN journalist. When you put them alongside CNN
journalists and have them commenting on Iraq and
other topics, viewers don't recognize the difference
between pundits and reporters. They are not
equals and never should have been at CNN. Can
you blame them ? No. Viewers are assuming that
    CNN uses journalists.

CNN has been widely criticized in the media for
questionable ties to the Tea Party. It was dumb
just like the ridiculous decision to turn CNN into
FNC . We know were to find FNC is we want it.
CNN is supposed to be a responsible, respectable
news organization, Not anymore after today.
This is the last thing CNN needs.

  27. Jan. 12 1:08 & 7:49 are both right. Burnett needs to go, pronto. She is a master self-promoter who has managed to parlay a cute girl routine into a primetime CNN gig. Shame on any CNN exec who enabled this empty suit to play dress-up TV anchor on the "worldwide leader in news" channel. Her shallowness suits CNBC but she is a joke on CNN. Ken Jautz had is chance - I can't believe he is still there.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Dana Bash is of the Jewish faith and Ron Paul made some outrageous remarks in the 90's, that he refuses to recant,
now. Dana misspoke but she is a great correspondent and a tireless worker.
Ron Paul knows he will lose the Jewish vote and most of the media will not support him in their editorials.
Newspapers such as the NYT will not endorse him even if he is chosen as the frontrunner, which personally, " I hope he is not."
Respected him before, no longer a supporter.

    ReplyDelete
  29. CNN is in total disarray. Where is
    the leadership ? Fire her.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Please don't confuse her with Dana Bash. This
confusion does seems to be out there. It would
be a real shame if people see Dana Bash and
think she is responsible for those comments..
Dana Bash is a real reporter and not Loesch.
Reporters and pundits don't mix. Do you really
need pundits all day long on CNN. They should
only be on Sit Room, John King and SOU. Use
CNN reporters or real journalists for other shows.
CNN touts Dana Loesch at one of the members
of The Worst Political Team On Television.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Thank you 5:47PM.
The Loesch woman is obnoxious, always was.
Dana Bash is a real reporter, always on the beat, always tracking down the story.
Loesch just has a very large mouth,
who just happened to stick her stinky foot in it.
    fire HER.

    ReplyDelete
  32. While I agree with many of you about the pundits and maybe creating more talk then news, I'm not sure how that is any different from FOX and MSNBC?? They do the EXACT same thing and yet FOX's ratings are in the stratosphere. Someone mentioned Al Sharpton (who is such a bad anchor, SNL reamed him last month, which was brilliant) was doing better than John King, but he too has nothing but pundits as well. The SAME pundits who appears on all the other MSNBC shows daily! I dont watch much FOX news, but exact same thing the few times I can stomach to turn it on.

So why is CNN lagging in the ratings when its doing exactly what these networks do?? At least CNN actually does international news. MSNBC and FOX will do it for a day or so if its big breaking news like Egypt or an earthquake and go back to the same dribble when it subsides. CNN is the only one that still has daily reports on Syria. So I agree, it has its problems, but give them some credit too.

That said, cant stand that Ashley Banfield anchor at Morning Start. God help us, she's waaaay too annoying at 5 a.m. Cant tell you how much I miss AM. Funny this was suppose to be an 'improvement'. Yeah...

    ReplyDelete
  33. Why does Ashley Banfiled took Kyra's place??? This anchor is annoying and conceited! Let her go CNN and take Piers Morgan along with her.
