In small towns…across the Midwest…several young girls went missing. Some were found murdered. Others were never found at all. And all of these cases went unsolved. Investigators believed only one man knew what happened. To get answers, it would take a risky, unusual plan: send a convicted drug dealer undercover into a dangerous prison to befriend an alleged serial killer. At stake: answers, peace for grieving families, and one man’s freedom. CNN’s Brooke Baldwin reports.

  1. Kudos to CNN for covering the dolphin story.
That is made for TV. You can go there and get
viewers to experience the efforts to save the
    dolphins.

  2. Hi, we are back. We ran the numbers so far this
week and it's not pretty for CNN the 1st week of
Feb 2012. There are some red flags. Last night
MSNBC had a big night in comparison to CNN.
Both ED and Rachel were just 16,000 away from
Greta in the demo. Are viewers turning away from
CNN ? Will this be a very bad month for CNN ?
Is CNN falling behind ? We have so many questions
that it could be a doctor thesis so we will stop
with the questions ? We emphasize it's just WK 1
but we can't ignore some concerns. We will end
this post and the data will follow next.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Here are the numbers. TV NEWSER is the data
source. Of course, no data for today.

    At 8, 360 is averaging 538,000/169,000

    ED is averaging 1,123,000/257,000

    BOR is averaging 3,260,000/684,000

Anderson won't top ED in the demo this week

    360 Replay is averaging 680,000/250,000

    TLW is averaging 1,014,000/249,000

    OTR is averaging 1,781,000/424,000

To Be Determined if 360 will place 2nd in
    the demo

We have an alarm about OutFront. It is
    likely she is trending downward.

    OutFront is averaging 421,000/138,000

    Hardball is averaging 931,000/216,000

    Fox Report is averaging 1,893,000/469,000

She is starting to drag down 360. Last night
she was under 400,000 viewers and had only
107,00 in the demo. Not a good sign.

    PMT is averaging 737,000/214,000

    TRMS is averaging 1,107,000/285,000

    Hannity is averaging 2,203,000/510,000

    CNN PT is averaging 746,000/253,000

    MSNBC is averaging 1,059,000/260,000

    FNC is averaging 2,439,000/565,000

MSNBC is growing at 6 & 7 PN while CNN
continues to lose viewers. In 2 weeks we
will see if Erin's numbers drop more.

    Stay Tuned.

  4. Erin Burnett strikes again. She used a chart
tonight saying Obama lost 8.7 million jobs.
Wrong he was not in office in January 2008.
So how could he have lost 8.7 million jobs.
She has no clue what she is doing. On TSR
Ali Velshi had real figures when Obama took
office.CNN apparently has no problem with
her lying to viewers. I will never watch any
show with her on CNN again. CNN keeps on
ignoring it's obligation to viewers. She can't
    make up her own facts.

    ReplyDelete
  5. @7:37PM:
Here is exactly what she said, according to the transcript, you may have misunderstood:

"In January of 1984 months before Reagan was reelected, the unemployment rate was 8 percent. Compare that to today's 8.3 percent. Now by the time Election Day 1984 rolled around the unemployment rate under Ronald Reagan was 7.4 percent even though it was the highest unemployment rate for a reelected president since World War II. Voters simply felt a recovery was in full swing.

But this president in 2012 still has a tough road ahead. Take a look at the pie of how many people have lost their jobs since this financial crisis began, 8.7 million people since the recession began in 2008.

Now under President Obama we have regained 3.2 million of those jobs. That's about 37 percent of the pie. It's significant, it's a trend that if it continues could be morning in America for the president. But it is not easy. There's a long way go and GOP presidential hopefuls are seizing the opportunity to remind him of that."

    ReplyDelete
  6. So Erin Burnett hears positive news about the economy but then tries to dig up some way to diminish it and thereby diminish the President's policies? Gee, we didn't even have to wait until tomorrow's Caucus for that because you KNOW Gergen is gearing up for it right this minute. AC360 tweeted a half-hearted promo about the new lower unemployment number and said they'd discuss the "politics" of it and how it may affect the election, but instead they stuck it in the Bulletin for the briefest of mentions. It is sometimes hard for me to not believe that AC360 and CNN in general would rather gouge their eyes out than report something positive that involves President Obama. If the numbers had've been negative, I bet that report would've been front and center at the top of the hour while they found some way to say how the Republicans will make it all better. The President said that the numbers will go up and down this year, but it seems to me that we're headed in the right direction, but you'd never hear that from CNN. I think Erin Burnett knows EXACTLY what she's doing because clearly her intent is to be as anti-Obama as possible and she and some others on CNN are succeeding at that.

  7. Is it possible that George Stroumboulopoulos will
be coming to America and possibly CNN ?

Just finished watching the episode with Pam Grier.
Awesome interview. When she first came out she
asked him why he wasn't on in the States. He said
he might be. Can't believe Jackie Brown is on the
bring Strombo to America bandwagon. Who is he
possibly in talks with for the show be seen here
in the States other than CNN ? Has there ever
been a better fit for CNN ?

Now we don't want to get our hopes up but
that is why we came here. Thank you very much.
Maybe we did catch the attention of CNN via this
blog, Hope this happens really soon. It is not
like they have to create a show. Dude can hit
    the ground running.

    ReplyDelete
  8. That's the point ,why was the stats from 2008
included to make the Obama numbers higher ?

If you are going to compare their reelection bids,
use the same data points for both. Otherwise you
are skewing data. Did you see any Carter stats
tied to Reagan. 2 weeks ago Business Insider
ran the stats for Obama and Reagan, You guys
are way off. It is your right to stand up for your
show but don't skew the data. By the way that
is a Republcan talking point. Just look at your
video and see how often it comes out of the
    mouths of the GOP candidates.

  9. CNN needs to fire Piers Morgan. I constantly see comments on the website saying for CNN to hire George Stroumboulopoulos. Yes, he is GREAT at interviewing but why should CNN keep the interviewing style of Larry King going? Why did CNN feel the need to keep a talk show going on in primetime? To be honest, could you see George covering major breaking news? He would be good on some other network, but not a major news network, sorry. CNN should just develop a new 9PM news show not involving interviews, and just bring Larry King back to do maybe one show a week airing Saturdays with a Sunday repeat.

    ReplyDelete
  10. It would be cool to be able to turn to CNN
and to see George each night. He did act
like something was up. He did say might
be. George is more like Daily Show with a
news slant. His show is more news flavor.
I'll believe it when I hear Sloan blasting on
CNN each night. George has done some
docs as well. If CNN does get the show,
that would be great news. He does have
the personality to take on Rachel.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Good . For once CNN would be thinking out
of the box. Anon 2:37 PM have you seen the
show. Anderson Cooper & Isha Sesay can do
breaking news. Strombo's style and format is
totally different from Larry King. Strombo can
bring in a whole different demo to CNN. There
is more than 1 style of news. Let me know when
to set the DVR. CNN needs a show that can draw
viewers when there is no big news story. Perhaps
it would get 360 to up it's game. It would be the
hippest cable news lineup in prime time.Cooper,
Sesay & Storumboulopoulos. it would be worth
it just to hear Isha say his last name.

  12. The ALL THINGS CNN website CNN personalities banner on the right needs to be edited. A few people are gone.

  13. Hiring George Stroumboulopoulos could be
a game changer for CNN. The show is critically
acclaimed. If I am not mistaken, his show is
under the news division of CBC. Canada is in
the middle of a big debate over government
funding for the CBC. It's a 1 billion dollar price
tag. So the timing seems about right. Maybe
they can split the cost for the show and CNN
can get the rights to air the show in the States.
Lets see if CNN can pull this off. He is strongly
    committed to Canada.

  14. We know but thank you for drawing attention to it. Our tech person has been out of commission since the holidays. As soon as she's able it will be updated.

  15. Can I just say how disappointed I am from Anderson Cooper? He used to be my favorite CNN personality but it seems now that all he is focusing on is his daytime talk show. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I wouldn't be sad to see him leave CNN. The main show I enjoy watching on CNN now is The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer and Don Lemon on weekends.

  16. All Mitt Romney is doing is bashing Obama. That's ALL he talks about during his primary/caucus night speeches! SO ANNOYING! Has anyone else noticed this? I am not speaking as an Obama supporter but seriously?!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Romney has no ideas, so bashing the President is all he can do. He feels he's the nominee already so he focuses on President Obama so no one forgets it. Now he's getting Secret Service protection. Please.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I'd miss Anderson, but I don't miss Dana Loesch. Haven't seen her around the old pundit table lately. Hope she's gone for good.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Anon 1:48am,
I don't know that she is so much anti-Obama as she is Pro-ErinBurnett. She is very defensive of wall street and the banks. Right now, all those new york corporate elitist democrats that supported obama in 2008 are really miffed at him right now. That's erin's base so that means beating up on Obama to protect her constituency.

    ReplyDelete
  20. 360 was really good Friday night. No politics.
Anderson started the show with a guy who
was brave enough to show his face from Syria
but 360 called him Danny. Anderson Cooper
can handle both 360 and his daytime show.

Strombo does a very smart show. He could
possibly win the 9 PM hour for CNN. Strombo
    would draw 18-29,18-34,18-49 demo viewers.
Strombo knows the news and he can handle the
news. Stroumboulopoulos Tonight is top notch.
I watch it all of the time online. I could see Jon
Stewart giving him props for his show.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Are you guys sure CNN is involved ?
ABC,NBC & CBS are full with a lineup.
CNN could use some good shows.FNC
and MSNBC are full. It could be HBO .
The Post said CNN was looking at a
    new 11 PM show.

    ReplyDelete
  22. How soon can Strombo start at CNN ?
    At least I hope it's CNN. I watch 360.
It would be good news for Team 360
to get a complementary show. It has
to come right after the 8 PM edition
of 360. The ratings for 360 at 10 will
go through the roof if CNN has a show
that is in the game at 9. Try the repeat
at 11 to see how is performs against
a BOR repeat. Cooper & Strombo will
get the demos that advertisers love.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I agree with Pam Grier. It would be such a joy
to see George Stroumboulopoulos. He is cute
and smart. There is a reason why he says it's
your boyfriend. Ladies love him. He is the guy
that shows up every night at the same time on
the same channel He is always there. Guys are
cool with him too. The show has been on for 8
years in Canada. Smart move for CNN.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Roland Martin is being accused of making homophobic comments on his twitter page. Let's see how quickly CNN gets rid of him and whether or not they make a public announcement about it instead of doing this stealth firing of Loesch. If he did indeed make offensive homophobic remarks, CNN needs to get rid of him. There's no place for that kind of behavior, even when you're doing on your own time. CNN doesn't need that type of person representing their network.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I must say that I am skeptical that it is CNN.
George is not a pundit, tea party member or
a mean/divisive figure. He is on a different
level than CNN. He won't dumb down his show.
The show is too smart for CNN management.

CNN messed up big time by hiring too many
pundits and Erin Burnett. No doubt his show
would easily become the # 1 DVR'ed show in
cable news. I don't think CNN wants to give
us anything other than PUNDITVISION and all
around terrible shows. Viewers will never take
the pundits being heavily involved in news on
CNN and that is why Soledad's show will fail.
You are CNN, meaning you are supposed to be
news oriented and not opinion central. Who
cares about what these talking heads have to
say other than CNN's out of touch management.

CNN management messed up 360 by turning
the show into Crossfire for 30 minutes. I just
don't believe CNN management wants smart
shows that make you think.CNN is not smart
enough to get rid of Piers Morgan either. Look
for Rachel Maddow's ratings to blow up.

    ReplyDelete
  26. CNN leaned so far to the right that they are
about to fall over. Even Tea Party leaders are
admitting they are done. Say goodbye to TEANN.
Cable news is taking a beating for their coverage
of the 2012 campaign. It's hideous. I had to turn
the channel when Kyra Phillips said the other big
storying being Nevada. Really ? The public is not
too interested in Romney and Gingrich. Get a clue.
Super Bowl, commercials, Syria but not Nevada.
Can you say old news ? Once President Obama
starts actively campaigning CNN is toast given
how badly they just bash Obama. Most of the
time with loaded questions or made up topics.
Cenk is right. S*** Erin says is the truth. She
has zero credibility and so does CNN.

    ReplyDelete
  27. CNN do yourself a favor and drop the pundits
before it is too late. TVN has the ratings for the
    Nevada Caucus. Yawner.

Clint Eastwood just got Obama re-elected. I find
it funny that the same media that gives too much
time to Donald Trump is talking about M.I.A. I get
the feeling that most of the people on cable news
have no idea who she is. Her Born Free video was
removed from You Tube. M.I.A. is widely known
media. Does the song Paper Airplanes ring a
bell. There is video of the finger incident. It
was all over social media long before MSM
    even caught on.
