CNN's SCOTUS Coverage on Thursday

CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, Candy Crowley and John King will lead the network's live coverage when the U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday morning issues its decision on health care reform. Coverage will begin at 9 a.m. ET.

After listening to the rulings inside the courtroom, Jeffrey Toobin, CNN senior legal analyst and author of “The Nine: Insider the Secret World of the Supreme Court,” will join congressional correspondent Kate Bolduan and John King on the steps outside of the Supreme Court. Candy Crowley will report live from Capitol Hill. Chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta will be on hand to break down potential medical implications and what the decision will mean for doctors and patients.

Chief political analyst Gloria Borger and senior political analyst David Gergen will provide insight and analysis on the ramifications of the decision. Chief White House correspondent Jessica Yellin will report live from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and national political correspondent Jim Acosta, who is covering Gov. Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign, will report on the decision’s impact on the 2012 race. CNN contributors on hand to weigh in will include: John Avlon, Donna Brazile, Margaret Hoover and Roland Martin.
Congressional action Thursday on whether to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt will be covered live by CNN’s team of anchors and reporters, with crime and justice correspondent Joe Johns joining the ensemble.
Online, CNN.com /ThisJustIn will provide up-to-the-minute updates and reports as news develops.

  1. Very excited to see Candy Crowley is part of the leading team. She has been under-utilized in the political coverage this year. Overall, I think they have the right people to tackle all aspects of this big news. I would drop the "contributors" though. In a lineup like this, they are un-necessary and will most likely be counter-productive. Borger and Gergen can handle the political analysis themselves, who needs partisan hacks. Besides, you have Crowley and King there as well - they are two political powerhouses and know how to play it straight.

  2. I don't care for Candy Crowley, Gloria Borger, Gergen or John King, to me, they are nearly as bad as the pundits lately. Completely biased and against Obama. ALL of them tend to play up the conservatives and act as though they have been blameless and not responsible for blocking and obstructing the President. CNN has lost millions of viewers for GOOD reason, maybe if they stop being so biased against President Obama, they'd get back some of their viewers.

  3. Soledad did a good job taking down one of those Fast and Furious conservatives on AC360 last night. He had no facts and didn't even want to HEAR the facts. 360's been pushing this phony story for a while and it was good to see that report in Fortune get the real facts that Katherine Eban uncovered out there. I wonder what Drew Griffin and Anderson think now about Fast and Furious - hopefully they won't give credence to agenda driven conservative conspiracy theories any longer.

  4. In the process of trying to be first CNN got the decision wrong. The went too fast and furious to be first. Their excuse the Chief Justice delivered the negative first, they should have waited but no they once again proved the point CNN no longer is interested in News only ratings.

  5. I found it very interesting to see Fredricka Whitfield being a reporter for the Health Care Ruling coverage rather than an anchor. I was surprised to see it happen. It was just random, but good for her.

  6. CNN messed up their coverage by reporting that
the individual mandate had been overturned. CNN
just knew President Obama was going to lose. Yet
again CNN gets it wrong. You can't trust what you
    see on CNN.

  7. CNN was just imitating FNC. Both made errors in
reading the Supreme Court ruling. So MSNBC was
the only network to get it right. CNN has been
talking forever about the ruling. Maybe it is time
for the talking heads to shut up and follow the news.
Get away from pundits. CNN looks stupid. TVN is
pointing out that CNN was prepared to go with a
certain script and likely didn't have other plans.

  8. Heads will roll because of this. I don't think we'll have to wait for more than a week.

  9. Jeff Toobin had said a while back that it was unlikely that SCOTUS would uphold the health care law and he KEPT saying it. I can't remember the case, but there was another time when Toobin was very definite about an upcoming decision that the Supreme Court would make and he announced it on 360, but he was wrong about that too and I was thinking about that and wondering if he/CNN could've gotten the health care decision wrong. I like Jeff Toobin, but he's not right about everything.

  10. Do we really need Piers Morgan, a Brit, taking an in depth look at ACA? For this they need someone like Sanjay and Jeff talking about it. Oh and I am waiting for Bo the dogs take on it CNN has talked to everyone else.

  11. Anon 12:54 CNN never waits for the facts to come in when there is Breaking News they just report what they hear. I remember there was a plain crash or something horrific like that and they announced the name of the victim before the family was even notified. CNN has to stop the we are number one mentality, they may be the first on the air with news but they aren't always right.

Time to clean house I'd say.

  12. It's unlikely that heads will roll. The CNN memo
has leaked on the web. CNN is wasting too much
time trying to build up Erin Burnett and Piers Morgan
that no one is minding the store. CNN is too heavily
relying on pundits and not news gathering and news
reporters upgrades. Jon Stewart was at his best last
night all at the expense of CNN. This is what will
happen when you hire pundits. The news system at
CNN has collapsed. What happened to the news
monster that Ted Turner built that was once a very
    prestigious news network.
