1 - Fox's ratings for the 8:00 hour are based on four nights due to a special program on Tuesday.
2 - CNN's ratings for the 8:00 and 9:00 hours are based on four nights due to special programs that ran on Tuesday.
3 - MSNBC's ratings for the 8:00 and 10:00 hours are based on four nights due to special programs that ran on Tuesday and Friday respectively.

CNN needs to be 5th.I for one will not be
ReplyDeletewatching their coverage of Obama accepting
the Nobel Prize, Why did CNN think they needed
to to a poll on the topic and much worse, use
comments from Limbaugh and Lynn Cheney
when the decision was first announced. That
was low CNN and why you are tanking. CNN
is irrelevant as far as I am concerned.
Personally , I am watching the whole ceremony
ReplyDeleteunfiltered on CSPAN. Real news organizations
such as Bloomberg are now saying those polled
due to a little invention called the cell phone.
Verizon just announced layoffs in its landline
phone division. People are abandoning landlines
and even cable companies are now getting into
the wireless phone business.It is as if CNN is
on an isolated island shielded from reality.
There are historic moments that you step away
and let things unfold. The Nobel Prize is one
of those moments.It does seem that 360 is
starting to get back on track. Last night's
show was good and it seem AC was trying
to strike a different tone with the stories
featured on the show.
Has anyone noticed that all morning long CNN

or cell phones.It is called economics.
HLN is growing because it is the only thing
ReplyDeleteout there that is different. Both CNN & MSNBC
are in trouble.HLN is my protest.
Why CNN is in trouble? Just take a look at
ReplyDeletewhat happened on AM with regards to the
story about a Yale employee being missing.
Already on news sites on the web it was
known that he man had been found near his
home. Later John Roberts did come back and
correct it, but it should not have happened in
the first place.
Maybe CNN is making changes in daytime.

Today Betty is on anchoring. Earlier this week
it was Brooke Baldwin and even Melissa Long.
I think change will be coming to the prime
time lineup as well.
CNN has got to get away from ideology
and conservatives this and liberals that.
In 2010 the news channel who covers
politics differently and make the focus more
news and less talk will be the big winer.
FaceBook is likely to be the primary source
for news next year. News should be free of
the ideological battle with political types,
instead actually give people some stories
without trying to frame what they think.
The genie is out of the bottle. Viewers don't
have to take it any more.
I see nothing wrong with having a political
panel with a decent discussion just cut out
the verbal javelins.It makes me turn away.
I am a concerned that CNN is using the
word truth. Who says what truth is?
That is pretty arrogant since your truth
may not be my truth.
CNN needs a Nighline type program in it's
ReplyDeleteprime time line up. Nightline is beating both
Letterman & Leno across the board according
to TVN.Nightline averaged 4 million viewers
last week.I find it ironic that 18-49 year olds
want news instead of entertainment. CNN
should have went a Chris Cuomo instead of
Campbell Brown. Now it is too late.
Until CNN stops their little "dance" between what is news and what is entertainment, they will not improve their ratings or be taken serioulsy no matter what graphics are shown or who the anchors are. They did a good job covering the Tiger Woods story on 360 Friday nite, but now, give it a rest.
ReplyDeleteStop using fillers showing Michael Ware in the mist of street crime down in Jaurez,Mexico and stop replaying AC's adventures crawling around in different tunnels. After a while this too, becomes stale. It is not newsworthy. It is just overdone and the ratings show it.
And while we're at it, no more Roman Polanski. CNN needs to scrutinize what they are showing and stop substituting "any old piece" to fill time. Viewers notice.
To the poster who said Chris Cuomo would have been a good choice instead of Campbell Brown....you are correct. Anyone would have been a good choice other than Campbell Brown, but she isn't the reason CNN is failing.
ReplyDeleteThey are lazy. They show reruns of reruns to take up time and space. Producers need to be fired and editors need to be checked.
Whoever is in charge of "State of the Union" does a good job of editing, producing and splicing. If all the programming showed this kind of expertise and effort, there would not be a problem.
