  1. 360 needs to stop letting itself be used by
local politicians in the Gulf. It seems to me
that whenever things don't go their way they
    run to Anderson.

  2. Anderson Cooper was played by Billy tonight.
The dredging was shut down because LA
officials violated the agreement and was
pumping sand from an area that they are
not suppose to. LA TImes has the article.
Anderson should have at least tried to get
a quote from the Interior Dept. There are
    coastal environmentalists warning against
the dredging because of what it would do
to tidal movements and basically will do
more harm than good.I really don't think
    Anderson Cooper is being objective.

  3. I have to agree with you about AC not being objective. He certainly has to get out and speak to those "giants" he referred to, rather than "hang" with the celebs and all those that want air time and are easy to interview.
Jon Stewart pointed out tonite, that Michael Hastings from Rolling Stone, did what those in the media, couldn't...Get THE STORY. It's very easy to stand and rant about BP and recite the obvious. It's a lot harder to think "outside the box."

  4. It is rather sad the RS has better news judgement
than CNN. Original, raw reporting matters. Michael
Hastings could not get a job a CNN because he is
    a rock solid freelance journalists.Hastings is a
gifted writer and has a passion for reporting.CNN
is a victim of talking head syndrome. CNN is
afraid to do some real reporting. You just don't
give a former politician your lead prime time show.
That's right CNN is in a race to the bottom.CNN
is about to be on the receiving end of a backlash
and this will bring down CNN's prime time
numbers. CNN needs a leader that has passion
for the news and a curiosity for information
and knowledge.I don't think CNN management
really cares about the news. Before this year is
out you will see countless articles about how
Jon Klein completely destroyed a once great
network and I don't think you should let his
bosses off the hook either because they stood
by and let it happen. More importantly who
will be Klein's successor. It is obvious that
Jon Klein is not the right man for the job.

  5. The amazing thing is that Hastings simply
sent an e-mail and they said okay.CNN is
trying to fool people into thinking this is
not Crossfire but people are not buying it.
I just hope CNN journalists are not forced
to be guests on the Spitzer program. CNN
simply is giving him a show for controversy.
The thing is there is this is a stupid move
and is not a good fit for CNN. Now I will be
watching CNN less. I need real journalists
like the people who report for Vanguard.
This is the future of news not some
former governor who had to leave office.
An article in the NYT says it all.CNN is
    now associated with gutter journalism.
This show will be DOA as Jay -Z would say.

  6. I am hoping that CNN will hire Conor Knighton
and Team Infomania. I actually think it is better
than the Daily Show. Parental discretion is advised
but it is a look at the media be it news or tv shows
or mags. Knighton is smart and witty and a Yale
graduate. It is edgy and could be a game changer
for CNN.In fact Esquire calls it the Daily Show's
wise you know what kid brother. Knighton is
funny and likable. Having Conor Knighton do a
daily version of Infomania for CNN would be
ratings gold. I stress that CNN should let him
do all the segments that Infomania is known
for and no censorship. Please go on line and
have a look and tell me if you can stop laughing
but will be saying that is so true.

  7. Here's a thought. Jon Klein just "loves" his star. If he goes, so goes the CNN "star." Don't tell me that he'll be OK. We know AC will get another job, but Klein has made it really, really easy for him. Anything he wants he gets. The two are like two peas in a pod.
Do you know any other anchor that can stay any place he wants to, for weeks at at time? I don't.

  8. Keith Olberman has a very insiteful comment on TVN about his NEW 8PM Competiton.
And Jon Klein is a liar. He is quoted as saying "he has not encouraged his anchors to insert their opinions," on what their reporting on. Well, what does he call Anderson Cooper's continual ranting about BP's lack of transparency and their ignoring his personal requests to be interviewed??? He does this nightly. Evidently "the boss doesn't tune in either."

  9. Geraldo Rivera has to be the stupidest anchor on Fox News and there are a lot to choose from. I thought CNN had the stupidest anchor, but I was wrong. Yes, Geraldo has Rick Sanchez, beaten by a mile. TVN has a clip of Rivera saying Michael Hastings did a terrible thing by writing what he did. What? He's an investigative journalist. That's what they do Geraldo. I know, great Fox News commentator that you are, knows very little about actual journalism, since you've never done it, but that's how Woodward and Bernstein became famous.
But why wake him from his coma. Rivera's only claim to fame is the time someone hit him in the nose on air, by the way he deserved it, and during Katrina he pushed an old lady down the stairs while she was sitting in a wheelchair. How can we ever fit all that achievement on his tombstone?

  10. CNN better have a back up plan for the disaster
that it is about to bring upon itself with the choice
of the Spitzer show at 8. Morale has got to be real
low at CNN. I am willing to be that the reporters
are dismayed and concerned about the damage
this will do to CNN. You can see this is a train
wreck and CNN will be severely damaged. CNN
is headed for a complete collapse. Since MJ had
the news smarts to stick with the Rolling Stone
story as earlier as 6:30 am the other day CNN
was talking about the SC governor primary
and the BP CEO on has yacht, it is whipping
CNN by some 100 thousand viewers. It will be
interesting to see how Soledad's documentary
performed last night. 360 was boring I just
changed the channel. That is the problem for
CNN as people find more reasons to either
turn away or not watch you are not likely to
get those viewers back and this move will
sink 360. The ratings will likely go down
for John King and Larry had Anderson will
not overcome a huge deficit.CNN will have
a hard tie finding someone to come in and
fix the network because the Spitzer move
will make it very hard to fix CNN's troubles
anytime soon because the fallout will be
huge. People are so over the pundits and
CNN is about to learn the hard way that
there is a high cost for stupidity.

  11. I did think of someone stupider than Geraldo Rivera and Rick Sanchez. In fact, Jon Stewart has poked fun of her/them, many times over and of curse he's right. Gretchen, from Fox & Friends, who just happens to think her job is just as important as the Presidents, amazing!
Which gave me the idea that Bill Maher, for his next season, must do a segment called "The Stupidest Anchor," instead of his Stupidest State segment. There are just so many to choose from.
