As much as I have had doubts about this show and how Piers Morgan would be the one to replace Larry King, it actually seems as if his show just might work out. Even though most of us do not expect his show to be successful, let's hope that his mission to make CNN #1 again works out.
Boring. This won't work the same celebrity
interview only a different person. Nothing
new and the guests won't make people
tolerate Piers Morgan. Sick of him already
because of promo overkill.
HLN will be the big story. Dr Drew's show
begins on Monday at 9. I think he can hold
on to Nancy's audience.360 being up against
Joy Behar should increase their ratings. This
show is going to be 4th.
@11:55AM: You seem to be swayed easily.
One look at Oprah edited, spliced and diced, and you think the British import is going to get the
"Gets" Larry got??
Well, I know Bill Maher wouldn't be on, and Jon Stewart wouldn't be on and the list goes on, so I'm NOT watching.
I dislike smug people and he's about as smug as you can get...but there are others out there like yourself.
@anonymous 1:25, Dr. Drew's show on HLN isn't scheduled to debute until Spring.
A statement released today says:
Please join HLN in welcoming Burt Dubrow, who will be the Executive Producer of the new Dr. Drew show set to launch this spring on HLN.
CNN is overdoing it with Piers Morgan. There is
going to be a huge backlash.I think the suits at
CNN are wrongly thinking that Americans are
familiar with him because he is a judge on
America's Got Talent. I would say Nick Cannon
is more of the draw and the people. It is a dumb
assumption that people who watch America's
Got Talent want to see him beyond that show.
CNN is going to get a hard lesson just like NBC.
The hour long interview show does not work in
prime time.50 % of the viewers will flip the
channel right away when they hear the accent.
It is the same reason why you don't see
Americans doing news on the BBC. Right now
you can get Jools Holland and other similar
celebrity interview shows on BBC America
and they don't even measure in the ratings.
People regard him as a reality show personality.
CNN needs to keep in mind that people
will watch Modern Family on ABC, but not
them doing a show on CNN. People don't
like this guy and they flood NBC with calls.
CNN is forgetting that in order for people
to watch a show you have to like the host.
The guests won't win people over. TRMS
is going to be the big benefactor. People
know that the Oprah interview is nearly 3
week old and CNN will do some creative
editing.CNN better have a back up plan.
There is no positive buzz anywhere. It was
the same dumb logic that got us Parker
Spitzer.
