This Week's Guests for Piers Morgan Tonight + More

Breaking: CNN's Piers Morgan interviews CNN legend Larry King... live this week

"The new 9pm" Piers Morgan will interview the former 9pmET CNN host, Larry King, later this week as part of Hollywood Week on "Piers Morgan Tonight." Says Piers: "'I can't think of many people I'd rather interview than Larry King, and I'm sure people will be fascinated by the dynamic between us, for obvious reasons.”
King hosted "Larry King Live" for more than 25 years, before stepping down last year. The live interview comes in the wake of a much talked about King interview last week on London's Radio 4.

  1. If these are Pier's guests for the week before the Oscars, I feel sorry for CNN.
Why not the Oscar contenders or their directors or producers??
Or perhaps the the Oscar hosts.
Larry would have gotten the Oscar hosts because that was must see television.
Just tonite Scott Brown chose to go on 60 Minutes to plug his book.
    He didn't choose Piers Morgan.
Everyone chose LK to plug their books...no one is choosing Morgan.

  2. What do Kid Rock, Hugh Hefner, and Rod Stewart have to do with the Oscars?...

  3. This lineup has nothing to do with the Oscars
and is a ratings disaster for CNN. That is the
problem with CNN these days. The advertising
is not truthful. Anyone can see this has nothing
to do with the Oscars. Except for the people
who are running CNN. I think people are already
realizing this guy is no Larry King and he does
not get the art of the interview. At some point
someone at the network has to realize you just
can't keep making stuff up.CNN thinks viewers
are to dumb to understand the Oscars. The
promos for the show have always been lies.
Piers Morgan is just not good tv.It is really
    bad and boring.

  4. CNN needs to hire a couple of 20 & 30 somethings
to show them how to use social media. You don't
ask questions on Facebook and Twitter and Youtube.
You use them to spread video, news and info.

The questions do not work on CNN. Why respond
to a question on Facebook from CNN. You do that
when it is a live event like the Oscars or Super Bowl.
Not for questions. If I am on Facebook & Twitter,
why would I answer a CNN question. Like they
can read all of the responses.CNN what you are
doing is so last decade. Nobody needs CNN for
an outlet. Besides what makes them think the
dumb questions is what people are talking
about. It is not showing up on Google.

  5. At the end of March it will mark the end of the
1st quarter of 2011 for CNN. CNN can't afford
to keep wasting time on Parker/Spitzer or PMT.
CNN always waits too late to fix anything. CNN
needs promos showing they now are live at 4 am,
a promo for AM, a promo for Newsroom, TSR,
John KIng, USA and better 360 promos. All during
the day you never see a promo for the show
that will be coming up next, absolutely not but
you have plenty of PMT promos. I thought CNN
was a 24/7 news channel. News is the only
thing that will keep CNN in the game. Not
ideology or celebrities. Please tell me that
CNN is not counting on PMT being their
    signature show.CNN is too contradictory
against itself. If you have a banner saying
you are the world news leader, where are
    the news promos ?

  6. Now Piers Morgan is interviewing Larry King.
Too late for this. CNN botched the handoff.
Piers Morgan is in big trouble and CNN knows
it. Already they are moving away from Rod
Stewart and talking about Hugh Hefner. In
the age of the internet, Playboy is irrelevant.
I think Piers is having trouble booking guests.
FNC & MSNBC have already started pools to
see who can guess how soon CNN will pull
    the plug.Ha ha.

  7. I think it is very nice of Larry to even consider being on Piers Morons show.
Piers should have studied him before he even attempted to do what he's been doing for the past twenty-five years.
I'm certain he'll ask him, "So how am I doing?"
In todays USA Today, there is a whole listing of those who are attempting to talk the talk, and so few who will actually make it.

  8. CNN needs to return to it's roots and hire
the worlds best and brightest. They are
losing ground because of recent hires.
CNN was once America's premiere news
network because the news was important.
Now CNN has fallen behind ABC,CBS & NBC.
Ben Wedeman is in Lybia. Try doing that
with Eliot Spitzer, Kathleen Parker or PIers
Morgan. CNN can't be taken seriously on
the big stories anymore with their anyone
can do be a news anchor mentality. Also,
this is causing CNN to lose ground to the
BBC and Al Jazeera. Guess what you can
now get tot see these 24/7 networks on
the internet for free. CNN needs to wake
up before it is too late. If you diss your
viewers, how can you expect them to
watch your network.CNN needs to have
higher standards. In the words if Jon
    Stewart : you're CNN.

  9. Long ago I posted that CNN was using an
outdated template for news. Right now in
any journalism program you have to be
able to write, shoot & edit your own stories.
This is the norm at USC,UCLA & even in CNN's
own backyard at NYU, Cornell, etc. CNN could
have hired 25 new up & coming journos to
    revolutionize news altogether.CNN has some
of the most stellar journos in the biz. Couple
the seasoned journos with the new style. CNN
has Anderson Cooper who was pioneered this
style of journalism.CNN has Candy Crowley,
hands down one of the best writers in tv
news. These kids learn to be storytellers
and are a whole lot cheaper than Eliot
    Spitzer,Kathleen Parker & Piers Morgan,
but way more valuable to your news org
when it comes to resources.CNN also has
someone like a TJ Holmes who could help
them grow at a network like CNN. I thought
CNN understood this by hiring Amber Lyon
& Kaj Larsen, not sure if he is still around.
CBS seems to be getting it right. They
are going with experience and youth
to come up with a balance.CNN has to
realize the game is changing.CNN can't
keep going down the same road. Right
now NBC is the only network with an
actual digital journo. Okay CNN, what is
taking so long for your network to hire
digital journos ? Upgrade to the 21st
    century .

  10. The problem for CNN is that they have lost
touch with reality. Since when is Piers Morgan
a rising star. Now that's funny and CNN is just
good for laughs these days. I for one hope to
have a real 24/7 news channel sot I will never
have to see those stupid Piers Morgan promos
    again.

CNN doesn't get new media. They think they
can control what people are talking about. I
am willing to bet that CNN doesn't have any
new media employees. If they did, the content
on CNN would not be from the tea party.

  11. If the rumors are true about Al Jazeera
expanding it's reach in America, CNN
will be done for not doing real news.
According to TVN, they are talking to
Comcast.CNN needs to be pushing to
    make CNN International available to
more viewers. It is amazing how you
hear about Al Jazeera & BBC pushing
hard for the news while American
companies are failing to fill the void
and refuse to give us a 24/7 news
    channel. Comcast listens to it's
    customers while CNN continues to
    tell viewers you don't matter.

  12. Rachel Maddow is blowing Piers Morgan
out of the water. Rachel is starting to
almost double or triple his ratings.CNN's
lineup is benefiting MSNBC even with MSNBC
not doing as well at 8.An hour long celeb
interview show is not going to cut it these
days. It had nothing to with Larry King, it
is the format and the host. I really don't
understand why CNN decided to go with
Joh Klein's ideas given the track record.
Neither Parker Spitzer or Piers Morgan
should have made it to air in the first
place. The shows don't belong on CNN.

  13. Looks as though Anderson is right.
People are not interested in foreign affairs, until it effects them.
Though there are some that say ratings don't count, unfortunately, in the real world, they do and the Ed Show proves it.
Ed keeps reporting on the labor union protests, both in Wisconsin and now Ohio and jobs matter.
When there's a real oil shortage, and viewers feel it, they will tune in to foreign affairs.
Until then CNN will place third in totals.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Ed was not on Friday. Those numbers are for
    Lock Up.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Oil prices affect all 50 states the union
protests do not. Both stories deserve
coverage but Libya has far more impact.
If the oil supply gets interrupted, that
    makes the situation even scarier.

    ReplyDelete
  16. @4:59PM: They were Mondays ratings and ALL of last week.
Lock Up wasn't the issue and if it was the issue, that is still troubling.

    ReplyDelete
  17. 360 is doing well this week because it is presenting really breaking news out of Tripoli.
It is a shame that time and again the issue of labor, and the forces against labor in our own country is overlooked and not acknowledged, except in a bulletin.
This is one reason why 360, lacks loyal viewers.
Many viewers are union members and they too, need an advocate, and need to be heard.

  18. Piers, Please wipe that smurky grin off your face.
No one is the least bit interested in Sharon, Has Been, Stone.
You deserved the low ratings you got last nite.
