No doubt CNN got huge lift on Friday.
ReplyDeleteNot sure about to night until 360 CNN's
coverage was lacking.
360's coverage of Japan has been pitch perfect and for once, they deserve the ratings they've gotten.
ReplyDeleteAC, Sanjay, and Soledad were on the ground, and got as close to the disaster as they could get and for once the disaster was the story.
It was news in "real time," and the viewership appreciated the effort put forth by the whole 360 team.
Yes, Ken Jautz, the NEWS is the star, and don't you forget it.

are doing some fantastic work for 360. Real
time news is always a plus. I just hope Ken
Jautz does not touch 360. Charlie Moore has
a great team in place and 360 is right on point
these days. I think 360 might just be the top
demo this week even ahead of The Factor. The
one show that Ken Jautz does not need to turn
into an ideological shouting match is 360. Let
it be the news show that viewers are digging
these days.360 is CNN's highest rated show.
If it aint broke don't fix it. The viewers are
sending CNN a message.
You have to give all of the people involved in 360

For the 2nd hr 360 has more than 50 % of it's
viewers who are 25-54. Mind blowing numbers.
360 always bails out CNN. Yet the bosses are
higher on Eliot Spitzer and Piers Morgan. Do
they even realize what the have with 360 ?
360 is really standing out in the crowd those
viewers are making sure they tune in from 10
until midnight. The news gets no respect at
CNN.
Hopefully , Anderson Cooper and all of the CNN

360 is the best.
We say CNN should hire George Paul Mark

news show aimed at younger viewers for
the 8 pm hour. Next up 360 live for 2 hours.
We are talking Tosh ratings for CNN at 8.
AC 360 is already getting younger viewers
for the news. CNN would clean FNC's clock
in the demo each night and definitely give
them a run for total viewers.Strombo can do
breaking news and is has a cool interview
style. The first two shows in the lineup are
holding 360 back. We just saying the
Cooper/Strombo is just what CNN needs.

They have given some editorial decisions to the
tea party to get a debate.
I have a feeling that Wednesday's 360 will
ReplyDeletehave huge numbers. You were able to see
the helicopters dropping water on the plant.
That was something to see and I like that
Sanjay is there with Anderson providing
great insight about radiation so that we are
not all freaking out.
360's ratings always improve when there's a big crisis that Anderson can cover from the field. I suspect that things will go back to normal when he returns to the studio, but I've also noticed that prior to Japan, 360 had a nearly singular focus on Libya for a few weeks and they barely touched on other news that was happening around the country. I'm not sure if that has ever happened before on the program. I think this might have something to do with the producer changes and perhaps Anderson exerting more control over the content of the show (international news is very important to him). Anyway, I'm really happy that the ratings for the Japan coverage has been stellar - the coverage has been as well.

Disgusting. I refuse to watch CNN's political coverage. I used to enjoy when Anderson would moderate the big panel discussions during election coverage and I'll miss that part of it, but there is NO WAY I'm watching CNN when the election season really kicks in. They are catering too much to the Tea Party and conservatives in general and it's upsetting. I am in no way trying to say that the Tea Party and Republicans have no place on CNN, but I just want some fairness in the coverage and I haven't been seeing it lately. I'm actually glad AC's been overseas because it has kept some politics off the show with the exception of Libya. I find I'm not throwing things at the tv while watching 360 because there haven't been any political pundits and panels.
I'm having trouble giving Pierce Morgan credit for anything.
ReplyDeleteI think he USES people, like Anderson, calling him his "colleague" every chance he gets, as though star dust will rub off on him.
And according to "Morons" ratings, it has. He does not deserve the million plus viewership. He knows nothing about international affairs and it shows. He doesn't give any guest a chance to fully answer a question before he's on to another one. It is obvious he does not LISTEN.
I find him truly annoying and as far as the "royal wedding" goes, after he conducts his simplistic reporting, Piers should then resign, and stay in London.
Anyone could do his job, anyone.
If 360 goes international for a full hour, it will lose viewership.

Many teachers are fans of AC's and he should realize this.
After Katrina, many working class people became fans.
If he ignores them, his ratings will fall.
AC may be interested in international news and no one should undermind its importance, especially now, with things heating up in Libya, but domestically and politically, other issus are just as important. Especially when it comes to ratings.
I wouldn't count Greta out, just yet. Fox knows the score.
360 is still maintaining big numbers and even

tied with Eliot Spitzer & Piers Morgan. It is the
fine reporting that is driving the ratings for
CNN. 360's ratings are about more than just
the quake.360 could be on the verge of becoming
the go to program in cable news Yes, the crises
in Japan is a huge part of the surge but there
might be something else going on here. When
it comes to the demo, the 10 spot has been
tight at times. It is the hour to keep an eye on.
I think Anderson and Charlie Moore have
earned the right to say let us do our thing.
CNN has to understand content, storytelling,
video and no mindless chatter. The endless
opinion is what makes cable news boring to
millions.CNN needs to keep an eye on Youtube,
Facebook and Twitter for the news that
people are really care about. You won't
find the most interesting news on political
blogs and talk radio. Their content is such
a narrow scope and is just silly at best.
Is CNN considering going with all female anchors

diverse group of the female journalists from CNN,
CNN I, HLN & CNN Espanol. All week long it has

Delgado . Where is Stephanie Elam and Alina

I'm glad to see AC in Japan with Dr. Gupta and the others. I was disappointed that he wasn't there sooner but he may have been trying to get into Libya. I do think he should be out in the field as much as possible and out of the New York studio. His shows are so much better when he is in the field reporting. I also wish he would write more--he is a great writer.

can all understand. The news out of Japan
has exposed FNC weakness. Fox can't grow
beyond it's base or politics. Nor are they
considered to be a news channel. It should
be interesting tonight. Fox is going with Shep
at 9 putting him up against Piers Wonder
what sparked that move by Fox. Man, 360 was
1,2 again in the demo. Sometimes the ratings
will go down but they are holding steady with
basically the same numbers each night. That's
unusual. It will be interesting to see the
ratings for CNN for Thursday. There was just
news breaking out all over the place.
I agree that Anderson should be out in the field as much as possible, but I wouldn't want him to be placed in danger just because of ratings.
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling he will head for Libya or Yemen as soon as he is out of Japan. That said, this is a danger zone as well, and someone at CNN should know enough to tell the difference...but then we're talking about CNN which hasn't met a disaster that they couldn't use to their advantage.
Anderson Cooper might want to rethink his "talk show."
ReplyDeleteWhy would anyone with this much talent in the field, want to be a talk show host and waste their time just talking and to whom?
Wendy Williams has a talk show.
How do I know? I happened to bring my car in for maintenance and she was on in the waiting area.
No one cared. No one watched. She looked like a parody of someone from SNL and she has no talent.
AC has talent, so why waste it???
It will certainly cut into his efforts on 360 and make him unavailable for coverage like Japan, and the Middle East.
He has to know this, but everyone learns for themselves...the hard way.
