CNN PRESENTS: WIKIWARS THE MISSION OF JULIAN ASSANGE– Airs Sunday 8:00PM – 9:00PM
CNN investigative correspondent Kaj Larsen reports on the whistle-blowing website that remains beyond the reach of governments and international authorities. Founded by 39 year-old, former computer hacker Australian Julian Assange, the virtual volunteer army of supporters that form the loosely organized WikiLeaks has unleashed an avalanche of secret documents, videos, and classified military reports on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and other matters. Assange, a self-appointed champion of free speech, says he is on a mission to expose secrecy, corruption and injustice. Critics say his revelations of detainee torture and previously unknown civilian deaths – including the identities of informants working with the US military – have put U.S. military lives in danger and compromised American interests.

Currently watching the CNN Presents doc
Wikileaks. It seems there is an new graphics
look. Where did Kaj Larsen come from ? Do
you guys have any info. I like his reporting
style. It is very modern and fast paced.
Great job Kaj. I have enjoyed his work on Current
TV for the last 5 years. I like the new hip look for
CNN Presents. I noticed that they ran commercials
for Amber Lyon next week. I just finished watching
WikiWars on the DVR and will set it for Amber next
week. Let's hope CNN gives us more documentaries
like this. Who cares about Mel GIbson or Amanda
Knox.If CNN goes with a Vanguard type series that
is a good thing. Maybe this can become a weekly
series by September. Of course, you would have
to start shooting and producing now to have
them ready by then.
Not sure of the ratings for CNN Presents.
TV by the Numbers has the some of the
ratings for the NBA Finals and they are
huge. I watched the repeat after the game.
IMHO CNN should hire the rest of Team
Vanguard from Current. I really like Kaj
Larsen's style of reporting as well as the
rest of his Vanguard colleagues. It is safe
to say he upped the ante for CNN docs.
A Nightlne type show for CNN each night
might not be a bad thing.
