Good to see that Don Lemon will be on with
ReplyDeleteWolf. CNN needs to be live all hours of prime
time for the entire weekend. I hope CNN will
add more hours. A Constitutional crisis has
been created and President Obama is being
urged to invoke the 14th amendment. Has
anyone ever seen a Constitutional scholar
on CNN ? That amendment was added after
the Civil War so that the South could not
get out of paying it's debt. U.S. history is
being ignored here. Where are the history
professors.
CNN has so many problems these days but
they have some really strong anchors & reporters.
Don & Wolf are good examples. Some could
use improvements but don't drag them down
with pundits that CNN has on the payroll.That
is out of their control.
Lawrence O'Donnell has banned Rep. Joe Walsh from his show. Walsh is a deadbeat dad who owes thousands in child support and yet he has the gall to bring up how his children will suffer because of the debt crisis. Instead of indulging "this guy" (as Walsh disrespecfully referred to the President on 360) Anderson should decimate him the same way O'Donnell did for his astounding hypocrisy.

are too biased. Or should I say fake reporters
because that is non existent on CNN as well as
asking tough questions to the tea party. CNN
is nothing more than the tea party channel.
Last I checked Republicans only control the
House so why is CNN ignoring the rest of the
government. CNN is just as crazy as the tea
party. There is zero logic. CNN won;t even
report this was created by the tea party. Why
are they ignoring this glaring fact.
MSNBC is surpassing CNN as a news channel.
CNN is in a downward spiral. Luke Russert
beats the worst political team on television
hands down, He does not repeat talking points.
CNN continues alienating viewers and you
can't diss your customers.
I thank MSNBC for the intelligent coverage
they have provided on the debt ceiling with
Lawrence O'Donnell and Prof, Melissa Harris
Perry.CNN does not understand the story.
I know Rachel Maddow will do the same but
I have a feeling the professor will have her
own show.. MSNBC is taking dead aim for
those 18-34 year olds who are multi-cultural.
CNN will never put intelligent minorities in
prime time.
I don't get CNN's coverage as well. It makes

Gloria Bolger say that they should do what
Republicans want with the balanced budget
amendment. You don't tie that to the debt
ceiling. Thank goodness for BBC,Bloomberg
and other foreign media outlets. These news
organizations are doing a much better job at
reporting and informing their people because
their economies can be taken down as well.
Worldwide news leader my foot. Keep in mind
that CNN is now being run by Ken Jautz, the
man gave Glen Beck his first tv gig, So that
tells you what direction CNN is headed,

for CNN to report that ADM. Mullin has told
troops in Afghanistan that he does not know

is rooting for a default. They are so desperate

If MSNBC (the liberal network) can bring in conservative politicians and pundits to debate issues on a regular basis, how is it that CNN (the self-proclaimed "neutral, balanced" network) can't seem to book liberal voices on their channel? Whenever I watch them they are talking to a conservative and allowing their viewpoint to be the pervasive one on the network. On 360, Anderson lets the conservatives like Carly Fiorina ramble on and on and he always lets them get the last word. No matter how they try to appease conservatives, they will always be seen as a liberal network so why not be fair? I was happy to see Steny Hoyer on 360, but when you watch MSNBC you realize just how many liberal politicians don't get a voice on CNN and 360 in particular. Melissa Harris-Perry of MSNBC had Barbara Lee on and I've seen Barney Frank on other programs there. Where are these people on CNN and why is this happening. The best thing on 360 last night was Fareed Zakaria saying that the Tea Party is holding this country hostage. This is an important point that should be made on CNN continuously, instead they cater to conservatives/Tea Party.

about reaching out to regular people. That
is living proof and real and not ideological.
Cable news has got to modernize. They are
a good 20 years behind. Ask viewers to go
out with their cameras and capture what is
going on in their communities. Viewers are
being left out and old media like CNN are
going to be the real losers. There is new
media in which anyone can participate.
Why can't regular people be contributors
for CNN instead ? I think you would have
much better content than pundits. Any
smartphone has a camera.
Why is cable news so exclusive ?
I'm not particularly an admirer of Ali Velshi, but he spoke the truth about the reckless and irresponsible stance the conservatives are taking with the economy and the debt ceiling on 360 last night. He was blunt about how wrong they are and it was very refreshing.
ReplyDeleteGloria Borger and David Gergen are fond of saying both parties are to blame for this debt ceiling crisis, but as Paul Krugman points out in a great NY Times article, it's the Republicans who are being completely unreasonable and stubborn. Anderson spoke mockingly about the "grand bargain" that President Obama tried to present to the GOP without acknowledging how far to the right the proposal was and STILL the Republicans rejected it. I don't like that the president is ignoring liberal policies to please the right, but for the press to say that liberals are equally to blame for this mess is preposterous. The reporting on this on CNN is ridiculous and unfair.

starting to be the highest rated show on HLN,
CNN is headed to becoming 4th and it can all
be traced back to lousy shows. Right now the
big mistake they are making is not canceling
PMT. CNN has to drop a celebrity interview
show. It has no business in prime time on a
so-called cable news network, Every night
CNN sets aside an hour for tabloid journalism.
What they have done is like ESPN dropping
sports as their bread and butter. Only ABC
Disney is not run as badly as CNN. ESPN has
respect for their viewers and know what they
like and why they watch ESPN.CNN could do
news they are just choosing not to do so and
decided to morph into FNC. Viewers know
where to find FNC. So if you are watching CNN
that means you have made the decision not
to watch FNC or MSNBC.
CNN should have 1 hour of global news in
ReplyDeleteprime time instead of Piers Morgan. It can
be Fareed Zakaria, Isha Sesay, Hola Gorani
Dr Gupta as rotating hosts. International
news matters; we are in a small world. The
best way for CNN to really attract younger
viewers is to add more international news.
Google, Apple, Microsoft and other big
companies would sign on in a heartbeat.
CNN needs to showoff with CNN I a whole
lot more and bring their shows back to
CNN on weekends as well.;When I say
global I also mean the Untied States but
no talking heads just as much news as
possible that you can fit in an hour. Add
music and production to every segment
and story. If Karmaloop can explain Sudan,
CNN should be able to do the same thing
as well.I am talking about 7 nights a week
at 9 PM on CNN.
Don Lemon did his shows on Saturday without

talking points. Good to know that there is 1 at
CNN actually doing their job as a reporter not
letting people slide with talking points, Way too
often CNN is afraid of right wing criticism. CNN
is suppose to bring us the news not agendas.
I hope Don Lemon starts a trend at CNN no
pundits and let's get to the heart of the matter.
I still say that CNN should hire Mark Kelley form
CBC in Canada. He has done a remarkable job
of reporting on the debt ceiling.
I could not agree more about CNN devoting an
hour of prime time to global news. Events in
the world matter more to people's lives than
opinion. I hope this happens.
I don't want to hear from "regular people." It's the "regular people" that got us into this jam in the first place. The Tea Party is a grass roots party is it not?
ReplyDeleteAnd they know nothing about government procedures, only that the focus of the nation is now on what THEY want and what THEY were elected to do.
They weren't elected to make a mess and to make a gigantic gridlock, so huge that absolutely nothing can get done.
Supposedly the "regualr people" who knew nothing about anything elected all these far right wing conservatives to stop Social Security payments and medicare payments, and Veteran payments and the list goes on.
So NO I don't want to hear from these "regular folks." Even the pundits are better than hearing from people who know even less than they do.
Pundits may be boring but they are harmless. "Regular people" from the Tea Party" can STOP GOVERNMENT that we need in its tracks!
I think over the years CNN has lost it's way. Rather than being "the most trusted name in news" they tried to be "the best political team on television". This was a turning point that left them dead in the water. CNN by nature is not and will not ever present a story showing any bias to either side of the political spectrum. Competitors have done well because they have either taken and extreme right or extreme left approach and therefore cater to their respective audiences - audiences who are so extreme they wouldn't ever watch CNN in the centre.

- CNN lacks a proper business show on it's US network. This would be a great opportunity to move Ali to primetime and have him cohost with Poppy
- PMT just doesn't work. I don't like Piers for so many reasons but the biggest issue with him is that I can't take him seriously. I watched him on Friday for 10 minutes while he was live talking debt ceiling before I had to change the channel.
- AC360 re-ran at 10 pm is a terrible idea. Mark my words.
- what the heck is going on at American Morning? American Morning needs to be blown up and started from scratch. More news, weather and flight delays on screen at all times, and less commercials!
- Don Lemon has really stepped up his game in the last couple of weeks. I have always liked him but for some reason I think he is in someway auditioning for something or is part of a big plan at CNN. "No Talking Points" screams CNN show title or at the very least tagline (think keeping them honest and no bias no bull)
One person I would love to see come back to CNN and so an international news hour would be Aaron Brown - intelligent and well spoken, he was always on point.
