Jon Stewart strikes again taking CNN to task
for their ridiculous over the top coverage of the
Queen Jubilee. What Jon Oliver said about Ted
Turner is probably true.
What, all this banal chatter about zombie invasions and bath salts isn't turning CNN around in the ratings? What a shocker.
Seriously, it is the dumbest story ever and I can't figure out why CNN won't let this story go. Next time an anchor or host says zombie, face-eating, or bath salt they should be tasered until they learn to shut up.
President Obama needs to take responsibility for Scott Walker's disgusting win in Wisconsin.
If Chris Christie could campaign FOR Walker so he wouldn't be recalled, Then President Obama SHOULD have supported LABOR, and supported Barrett, his opponent.
Instead of asking Michelle to send out campaign booklets asking for donations to former Obama supporters from 08, he could have been a big boy and done campaigning in favor for labor in Wisconsin. His "tweet" said: " I really don't care and am not getting involved."
We will remember in November that our movement was ignored by HIM.
It was a very stupid mistake Mr.President and you will pay for it, dearly. Save the charm.
What I don't understand is Phil Kent saying that AC360 doesn't get ratings because of 'lead ins', yet the ratings for the shows before and after Cooper have higher ratings than his show. His comments therefore make no sense.
Phil Kent has data you will never see like the 15
minute interval averages that break down when
and where viewers are tuning in and tuning out.
Most agree John King, Erin Burnett & Piers Morgan
are crappy lead ins. Lead ins do matter look at
what happens if BOR does not build up a big
lead for Sean & Greta. 360 is the only show that
has the obstacle of 2 hours of viewers losses.
Phil Kent is right.
360 is not affected by lead-ins and he knows this because at one time Anderson Cooper was the journalist in the know and everyone wanted to watch him, regardless of who went before or after.
Now you could place Cooper in any slot and no one cares.
Let's try it and see what happens, shall we?
In fact, let's put him on Bravo with his friend Andy Cohen and give him a talkshow like his friend Kathy Griffin, who is barely hanging on, and then let's blame his poor ratings on let's say the housewives, who are tops, right now.
If Cooper was that much of a draw, Disney would have spoken to him LONG AGO....about Live With Kelly.
They chose not to.
Need I say more??
Anon 9:02, I think you are confused... Phil Kent specifically blamed lead-ins. Not sure what that means since he then went on to defend the lead-ins but that is what Kent said. I don't like this presumption that AC is a news star and should just get star ratings. You gotta earn it like everybody else body. If you slack off like anderson has done, ratings will suffer.
Thank you for setting me straight 12:48PM about Phil Kent.
Then he is in denial like the rest of CNN Management.
And I agree about Cooper.
Either he earns his own ratings or he doesn't, but don't put the blame on everyone else.
When Larry King was his lead-in, it was Larry's fault.
Whose fault is it in the daytime?
Cooper is like a spoiled child, or he's treated like one.
Time to grow up and accept responsiblity. You can't always get what you want.
Anderson Cooper got an 89 in the 8 PM slot Wednesday, in the mid three-hundreds in totals.
It was a fairly big news day with the Tuesday nite recall.
So let me get this straight. Who should we blame his poor performance on...Burnett?
Sne got 100 at 8PM and did slightly better.
Or shall we just say if Anderson had done his job he would have been in Wisconsin reporting on the recall even if he took no position whatsoever.
Instead he attended some private event and then presided over a Gordon Parks tribute.
Now do we have HIS priorities straight???
I know I do that's why I stopped watching him.
Gordon Parks was a close family friend of Anderson and his mother and I think it's good that he thinks it's important to continue to honor him, even on a work night.
@2:45PM: Assuming you may have a public pension or any pension, and assuming you are amongst the middle class, please remind yourself, in November that both your President and your favorite anchor got their priorities straight and that's why there will be a Republican in office who cares very little about whatever class your in, except HIS.
How very thoughtful of Anderson to please himself.
