King of the (Capitol) Hill

It's a toss up as to whether I should begin with the serious CNN news of the day or the laughs. I'm always a sucker for a funny man so John King and Stephen Colbert win hands down. Here's King's appearance on The Colbert Report from Monday night.

I'm voting for 'King of the Hill' (as in Capitol). I'm guessing the suits at CNN would have some issues with that since the name of John King's new CNN program has been entitled 'The State of the Union with John King'. The show will launch January 18 the weekend before President-elect Barack Obama's inauguration. The first show will preview the January 20 inauguration, and examine the upcoming Obama administration.

CNN has released a list of the 10 most read stories on CNN.com and their corresponding page views. Makes our 1/2 million hits for the year look like chump change.

Thanks for the schedule for this weekend. I am
always confused about CNN's weekend programs.

I hope John King's program is beyond politics.
Everything is not through a left vs right prism.
I hope it is a mixture of news, the big stories,
the internet and pop culture. and I hope it is
everything the Situation Room was suppose to
be the merging of old and new types of media.
When I say pop culture I do not mean celebs.
I mean people like the artist who designed the
Obama poster, the music Obama has inspired
as well as authors and writers about the latest
hip thing.
