The National Cable & Telecommunications Association 2009 Vanguard Awards ceremony will be held in Washington, D.C., on April 3rd. Jim Walton, CNN's Worldwide President will receive the Vanguard Award for programmers. Walton has been with CNN since 1981, starting at an entry level position. Fareed Zakaria:

• Fareed Zakaria will speak in Dallas on Friday, April 17th as part of the World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth's speaker program. The event will be held at The Fairmont Dallas, 1717 N. Akard St., Dallas at 11:00 AM. For tickets follow the link.
• Zakaria is also slated to open the Ringling College Library Association Town Hall 2010 lecture series with two lectures on Jan. 11.

James Carville and his wife honored outstanding women in Louisiana government on Saturday, March 28th for the Louisiana Center for Women and Government, which is based at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux.
