First tonight, this news:
CNN anchor Campbell Brown and husband Dan Senor celebrated the arrival of their second child on Monday, a boy, a rep for the cable news network confirmed to E! News.
Asher Liam Senor weighed in at a healthy 9 pounds, 4 ounces and measured 21½ inches. Both mom and tot are said to be doing well.
Asher joins older brother Eli James Senor, who was born in December 2007.
The 40-year-old Brown and the 37-year-old Senor, a partner in Rosemont Capital and a former White House adviser in the Bush administration, swapped vows in April 2006 when the CNN journalist was previously the weekend anchor on NBC's Today show.

Last week's ratings shouldn't be a surprise to anyone at this point... FOX had the highest Adults 25 - 54 demographic all five days during every hour of primetime.
CNN's average rating for the week gets better as the hour gets later: 8PM (with Roland Martin anchoring)- fourth place; 9PM - third place; and 10PM - second place.
MSNBC did better this week during the 8PM hour than last week with a second place finish. The 9PM & 10PM hours remained the same with second place at 9PM and fourth place at 10PM.
HLN took third place at 8PM; fourth place at 9PM; and third place at 10PM.

One last item for you tonight, I came across this article on the Opinion page of BYU's NewsNet. Below is an excerpt from the article that discusses opinionated journalism:
... Others believe they are more qualified to speak on the issues because they research them more thoroughly than most citizens who vote on them. After all, who better to comment about the Mexican border drug war than Anderson Cooper after he camped out on the border. And who better to comment on Obama’s budget than Campbell Brown, since preparation for her story involved hours of picking the numbers apart.
But those arguments miss the point. Assuming you know what’s best for the people because of some deeper knowledge is an elitist mentality, almost as elitist as claiming your competitor is straight opinion and you’re the real reporter. Neither one of those attitudes stresses the importance of balance, fairness and objectivity, and neither one is likely to produce stories with the real public interest at heart rather than ratings or outside opinions.
So public, watch out. Don’t complain the news is slanted and then subscribe to one of the personalities who’s slanting it. If you want objective, straight news, don’t support the opinionated hosts who taint it. And journalists, be even more careful. Don’t let your fan base let you forget what you are: a mirror, not a commentator. There are plenty of people ready to badger for hours about everything from endangered species to what the moon’s made of. The public doesn’t need any more talking heads. What they need are the stories, the window to what’s really happening. Don’t lose sight of that window and remember where to keep the camera pointing.

I think CNN made a mistake going with a pundit
for the 8 o'clock hour. I really believe that CNN
really needs to build a news oriented social
network.I am so in favor of a viewer contributed
news program with TJ Holmes and Erica Hill for
the 8 pm hour.CNN needs to find an answer and
stop the bleeding. Changing the 6 and 7 pm hrs
is needed as well.I still think Conor Knighton
could do wonders for CNN right before 360.CNN
needs to find a way to show that they are now
repeats over and over again from 7-11pm.
Each individual show needs it's own personal
style. I am still pulling for an all female news
program with all of the women who work for
CNN. Let's say Kyra, Soledad,Candy , Fredericka,
Carol and others.I hope CNN is smart enough
to form so sort of partnership with Current TV.
I am starting to noticed that they are having
some people for the network on CNN.
I would like to see CNN buy Current.It would be
a great fit and give CNN more ventures and a
greater reach.I would love to see AC talk to
some of their journalists for 360.I am not to
sure a the stability of Current these days. But
I would be willing to bet many of their people
would love the opportunity to work for CNN.
I am not sure if Current has even made a
profit yet.At least look for the network for
talent that is up and coming.

CNN is doing a great job with it's coverage
of the pirate hijacking.I hope that CNN becomes
an alternative to MSNBC & FNC who resemble
talk radio. There is a huge news void in cable
news these days. The only thing wrong with
CNN's coverage is I wish they would not let
opinion talker like Dobbs and Martin handle
breaking news. Why not go with a special edition
of AC360 at 8 Let;s see the journalists more.
I was just on TV By the Numbers.CNN must
make changes for the 7,8 and 9 pm hours.
MSNBC actually is not that great these days.
If CNN had a range of different stories instead
of talking head central maybe their numbers
would go up and not down. The goal should
be to top FNC.I do wish HLN would move
Showbiz to 9 I think it could help bring down
MSNBC's numbers.I don't mean to sound mean
but maybe it is time for CNN to move Larry
King into the weekend lineup with 2 new
shows on the Saturday and Sunday. CNN
really needs to ignore the chatter on talk
radio and stop letting them drive the news
stories or topics of the day. Come on who
listens to talk radio or am.
OMG,they need to get rid of the 8 EST program and put something,anything else there!Campbell Brown and/or Roland Martin suck,and that show needs to go,it is boring as hell,and seems to be bringing everything else down along with it.
Why not something with Tom Foreman,David Gergen,or Candy Crowley in that time slot?Or perhaps a combination of all three of them,with a discussion board or call in,whatever.
Either that or John Roberts,who is much better suited to nighttime than he is on American Morning.
I would be more in favor of some of the CNN veterans and long time journalists with the experience getting a shot at that slot,not the recent newbies like TJ Holmes or Anderson's sidekick Erica.
To think they wasted the talents of Miles O' Brien before eventually getting rid of him,and briefly hired DL Hughley for primetime.How insane was that?
The decisions being made lately are basically of a what the he** variety.
I agree that there are way too many talking heads being shoved down our throats as well.Seems they hired these folks for the election,and they decided to stick around until the next one in 2012.
Can we at least mix it up a little,sometimes the overused Breaking News is for something that has been on all night by the time we get to AC360.Not only that,360 is a rerun of Campbell Brown's stories.Not very original.
It is hard to believe this was the same network that used to make 360 a two hour program not too long ago,with plenty of news to go around,from all over.
Where did that formula go?
Nothing is working,why can't these folks get out of denial and start fixing things,surely it is not that hard to figure out.Or are they going to continue on as is,with a crappy lineup that is going nowhere fast?
If there is anything that IS worth saving in that entire nighttime lineup,IMO,it is AC360 ONLY.
Sorry to all. Wolf Blitzer is worth saving. He has shown that and he was the front man for AC during the Campaign and analyzing the election results with John King on election night. AC is a good field reporter, but his interviews often lack depth and he needs help in analyzing political data. King and Blitzer know political analysis blind folded.
Jack Cafferty would be great in the 8PM slot. Remember in ratings everyone in that time slot is against the 800 pound ratings gorilla, Bill O'Reilly. Rough time slot for anyone.
Bring Soledad back into the picture, not Erica. She's much too light weight, speaks too quickly, and is only good with voice overs.
Soledad has depth, is good with documentaries and knows her way around the business. Very under used.
Another alternative is Don Lemon. Get rid of Roland. Now!
