I always wonder why do all of the media writers
ignore the times when Nancy Grace beats Keith
on Countdown. It has happened more than once.
That said a change has to be made for CNN
and they can no longer ignore the problems
with Campbell Brown's show.

I am wondering if something is not up, Today
it was Jessica Yellin on TSR. That is the 3rd time
this week there was a different anchor subbing
for Wolf. What is up with that?

Looking at this demo chart CNN clearly is coming in fourth place...even in the 10PM hour. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the reason AC360 is taping Fridays.

What would happen if Kyra replaced Campbell in the 8PM hour? Put Campbell in her spot. She's certainly spunkier and her journalistic creditials are just as good or better. Her demos have no where to go but up.

I am wondering if these 3 are being considered
as a possible replacement for Campbell or a
possible co-host for Wolf Blitzer.Or possibly
a new dayside show.Ii would like to see CNN
hire Lisa LIng and Marianna Van Zeller. Marianna
studied at Columbia Univ and has international
credentials. Lisa Ling is serious and smart.CNN
has some very intelligent female journalists that
the network seems to ignore. Now they are trying
to find their Rachel Maddow.CNN should have
been thinking about this a year ago.I think
the first thing CNN should do is announce
that they are hiring a couple of female journos
to replace Erica Hill, Betty Nguyen and
Christianne Amanpour. The 2 I mentioned
will fill the void. They are highly respected
and fearless in covering stories. Both have
covered hot spots around the globe. One
thing is clear CNN does not need another
political/talk/opinion show. Come up with
a new and different news show. Not like
anything else that is out there.

Perhaps it time for CNN to try Don Lemon or
Tj Holmes in Campbell Brown's time slot. My
guess it they can't do any worse.Oh I forgot
CNN only wants Roland Martin in prime time.
True story : I was talking to someone who
actually thinks Roland Martin has a show on
CNN because he is on the network so much.
I tried to explain about TJ and Don. Would
you believe they did not know about the two
of them. We agreed that we don't like the
antics of Roland Martn. It made me think,
what if Don or TJ were shown to a larger
prime time audience. At least MSNBC goes
with Eugene Robinson.

@8:31AM: Chritiane Amanpour no longer works for CNN. As of August she will be doing a show for ABC.

I am hoping to see John & Kyra together in the
morning. The show was so much fun when she
filled in for Kiran. TV by the Numbers has a very
interesting item about CNN finishing 4th and
sometimes 5th. This can't continue. I say hire
as many people as you can from Current. Get
Conor Knighton to replace Larry King for the
hour and hire all of the Vanguard journalists.
It would give CNN a lot of fresh faces and help
them out in the demo. The one thing that MSNBC
& FNC did at 9 was to go for the younger demo
against Larry King. Sadly, it worked.

AC seems to have gained ratings wise by "giving his opinion" in last nites debate with Arizona's rep. Ash. He beat the repeat of Olberman and topped LKL. Yes, we want AC's opinion and it does matter CNN!! In fact we want more opinonated shows even if it smacks of "Mox News, Biased and unbalanced!!"

360 is doing better because it is actually
more focused these days. Opinion will
not save CNN. Better shows and credible
anchors will.

RATINGS WILL SAVE CNN AND IF IT TAKES GIVING OPINIONS THAT PEOPLE WATCH THEN DO IT! Name a credible anchor other than AC, Blitzer and King?? Maybe Crowley and Don Lemon, but you NEVER SEE THEM EXCEPT ON WEEKENDS.

I agree Roland Martin gets far more exposure ranting and raving than Don Lemon or TJ. Why?? Because they don't rant and rave.
Martin likes to rant and that's what CNN thinks he's good at. He's "stereotyped" and he should be "ranting about that."

Presentation is a huge problem for CNN.
Too often all you get are slogans such as
we are doing this or that . A good product
sales itself. Chances are if you have to tell
me what I am going to see I will not see it.
I see they now have a promo for TSR. It was
another promo mistake to have Rick Sanchez
face only in a promo showing the times for
Ricks List and TSR. CNN has some anchors
that just make you turn away for hours. I
just can;t take CXN from 1-5.It is just bad
tv. Wolf's ratings were not bad at 4 , so why
did he lose the hour for a show that never
made any sense and not worth watching, I
don't understand the changes at CNN. Why
was Kyra replaced by Ali in the afternoon?
Why was the twitter dumb show given an
extra hour? What is the point of John King
USA ? Campbell's show goes from bad to
worse. Larry King is just plain bad these
days and 360 's ratings are moving up but
not enough to make up for the ratings
deficits from 6-9.CNN does not seem to
have a vision, goal or mission. Where is the
leadership? You can't let Jon Klein fix the
mess he created. You need to hire somebody
to come in and clean it up. This had better
happen sooner rather than later. April is
coming to an end and the ratings for CNN
this month are going to be really bad.
CNN can't afford to do nothing any longer.
They have already waited to long.

CNN needs one good solid slogan instead of
several that does not convey what CNN is all
about. Every network has a slogan and you
see it all day long. CNN is all over the place.
CNN needs to promote the right people and
get back to being smart and intelligent talk.
Anderson was not giving his opinion, he was
asking tough questions and it is pretty obvious
what that bill is all about.CNN has added
opinion in Campbell's show with Roland &
Mary and you see how that is going.People
are so over spin and talk.Nightline does
not do opinion and it is doing just fine.
When it comes to Wolf, that is the problem.
Look at what CNN did to an outstanding
journalists in favor of one who does not
even know what good journalism is and
does Ali need to be on 7 days a week.

It is funny to see Rick & Ali try and convince
people that they are good. That signals to
viewers that something is wrong and that is
why they are turning the channel.Tv by the
Numbers has the ratings for yesterday and
there is no good news anywhere. Morning
Joe is getting closer to 500,00 and AM is
dropping to under 300,000.It is as different
as night and day.CNN has trouble all over
the place no matter where you look.

@1:21PM "CNN has added opinion with Roland and Mary and you see where that is going." Yes, we see where that is going because THEIR opinions don't matter to the CNN viewer but AC's opinion DOES...and he should be giving more of it, not less just to suit a view viewers. Any other outlet would MAKE him give his opinion or no show.

Good for Sanjay Gupta! His ratings on AC360 were almost equal to AC's and CNN made a wise choice in giving him the opportunity to anchor.
He is a man of many talents and now if only CNN would CENTER the show around HIS expertise, which is medicine, they would be USING THEIR BRAIN.
