That's one of the best reasons to watch Don Lemon. My only issue with this Daily Show piece is that it didn't include Lemon's interview with Alvin Greene. It’s absurd that CNN producers require intelligent journalists to lower their journalistic standards to tabloid levels - i.e. Anderson Cooper's coverage of the royal wedding.

CNN needs to be on live until midnight. Give
Don Lemon the 11PM hour to wrap up the
news of the day. There is no excuse for Don
Lemon being on weekends.

Anderson Cooper 360º at 8PM, Isha Sesay & Hala Gorani at 9PM for international news, and Don Lemon at 10PM with the return of CNN TONIGHT. This is how it should be.

I love Don's candor and blunt reactions. CNN needs to get over it's issue with minorities having a prominent role on their prime time schedule and put him in the line up.

Jon's Stewart's point was not about Don Lemon, but what Don had to READ in order to be on this stupid network.

All I have to say is that this weekend CNN had
better have Don Lemon on live for 2 or 3 hours
in prime time. I there is no agreement by Sunday.
That evening President Obama will enact the 4th
amendment. He will have no choice. f he does
not act by then , the stock market will fall by
nearly a thousand points. Not to even mention
what will happen to the U.S. dollar. CNN better
be coming up with a plan for the weekend and
beyond. the Asian Markets will open around
7:30 PM on Sunday. Obama has to make the
announcement before the opening of those
markets. If there is not agreement he has no
choice. The world is saying now don't let the
default happen and he can't. This the world
economy that is at stake not just he U.S.

I agree Don Lemon should be involved in any
extensive CNN coverage. This is man made &
the rest of the world have been warning about
this for months. The rest of the world realized
that the tea party would lead to the downfall
of America. Yet CNN hitched on to the tea
party and took up their rhetoric. The rest of
the world knew this was crazy but CNN did
not and the network failed Americans and
CNN keeps bringing on pundits instead of
historians,economists and others, Finally,
360 did have on Jeff Toobin who did point
out that it is Congress' job to raise the debt
ceiling. The Los Angeles Times recently
reported how lame the house is and how
they are not doing their jobs. Did CNN miss
this or are they too busy following the noise
and not the news. Some places in the world
it was being called the rise of the stupids
because for the first time in history the
rest of the world could see America was
losing it's mind and basically destroying
their own government. The rest of the world
will tell you America is going to be the big
loser here for permitting extremists to hijack
politics and media. The debt ceiling and the
deficit are not the same thing. CNN has
been asking loaded questions to confuse the
public or perhaps they don't even know the
difference because they rely on pundits for
facts.CNN needs to clean this up now.CNN
helped cause this problem.CNN became
card carrying members of the tea party and
their feet needs to be held to the fire. The
finger pointing and game blaming on CNN
is crazy. We are were we are. Deal with the
real news CNN.CNN has no business being
this close to pundits with this story.CNN
is completely tone deaf. Mike Barnicle said
it best this morning. These people are crazy.
Wake up CNN.

You guys have to check out the Huffington Post.
They have a very interesting item on CNN and how
they don't even listen to what people are saying
but actually try to shape the narrative to anger
when that is not the people are saying. In other
words CNN is not listening or speaking the same
language. Too much beltway brain. It is so true
about CNN.CNN is stuck on stupid. :The comments
are even better.CNN is completely dysfunctional
and too full of themselves to get it. What has
happened to reporting on CNN. Is the network
completely broken. Ted Turner buy back CNN.
This what happens when you don't hire real
reporters. Like pundits can fill the void. The
public is so past this.

More Jeff Toobin on 360 and all of CNN. 360's bookers should avoid guests like Rep. Joe Walsh, especially since his credibility is shaky considering his own personal child support problems. I wish 360 would have more Democratic politicians on the show, there seems to be a surplus of Republican pols that they bring on the show and the Dems are fairly scarce on 360 for whatever reason. I'd prefer to see less Ron Paul (an extremist just like Rep Walsh) or Carly Fiorina, who's loose with the facts, but I am grateful Dana Loesch has been MIA for quite a while. The Tea Party is out of control and unlike Anderson, I don't find it "refreshing" and neither does most of the public.

CNN is so funny. That story is making it's way
all over the internet. My favorite lines from 1
of the websites was that the public is more
informed than CNN reporters.CNN has no idea
of how they have completely lost their credibility.
People know CNN is not interested in the real
story. They just make stuff up. Crash and burn.
Nothing done these days on CNN is based on
reality. CNN is on another planet along with
the tea party. That is what happens when you
abandon your journalistic soul and have no
ethics in reporting or hiring. As the saying goes
you reap what you sow. I all saw this CNN
train wreck happening. We are all seeing this
in HD. People are calling, tweeting, whatever.
Corporate media does not matter anymore.
Why do you think President Obama is telling
ordinary citizens to be involved. John King
thinks the tea party is principled, He can't
see they are crazy extremists. Heck yeah,
the public is smarter than CNN. Thank
goodness that means the ignorance virus
is just at CNN. CNN does not understand
5th grade government studies. A bill with
a balanced budget amendment does not
make it law. There is a long process to change
the Constitution so that crazies can't hijack
the process. House Republicans passed the
same bill before. What was that silly phrase
they were saying cut, cap balance.CNN is
the blind leading the blind. They have the
worst news team on television. CNN means
Cable Nonsense Network or Cable NonNews
Network. News has long been gone from CNN.

Are you kidding CNN has no brain cells.
If they did, Fareed Zakaria would be on
in place of Piers Morgan to actually have
an intellectual conversation about the
debt ceiling.CNN has no business letting
Piers Morgan handle a story of that is
this big. That is how we know CNN is
no longer a serious news organization.
The professor has been filling in for
Rachel this week and she is intelligent
and knows her stuff. Get ready for 4th
place status CNN.TVB has the ratings.

CNN will regret getting cozy with the tea party.
If foreign media outlets like the BBC & CBC
reported the truth about the difference between
the debt ceiling and deficit, why couldn't CNN.
That leads me to believe that management gives
the reporters at CNN talking points and they
are not permitted to do reporting based on the
reality of what they are witnessing.

That article from the Huffington Post raises a
very important issue. Can CNN reporters really
comprehend the complex world issues. You
have no idea what CNN & the tea party have
done. The debt ceiling was used to hold the
world economy hostage. Ask yourself this
question : would you want to trust or invest
in America. Canada is seen as more stable
and I can't say I blame them. Our reputation
is lost. Thanks for nothing CNN. From those
stupid loaded questions to outright lies. it
seems like CNN has a political agenda and
it is as whack as the tea party. Anger &
Outrage was not how the people they talked
with behaved So why did a CNN banner have
those words. It's irresponsible. By the way
the rest of the world is not to happy about
our politics these days. Questions are being
raised about the stability of our democracy.

Anonymous said...

"Canada is seen as more stable."
That's because Canada's economy IS more stable right now.
They never got caught up in the mortgage debacle and HGTV is all over Canada right now filming.
They have stopped filming in the United States because of the mortgage mess. Just watch the credits roll the next time you watch.
House Hunters is no longer being filmed in the United States. So much for the state of Democracy.

Poor Don Lemon. First he's called out by Joh Stewart on TDS, for reading silliness on the CNN teleprompter, and then Steven Colbert calls him out for not recognizing a vampire when he sees one.
In actuality however, this is all in fun, and is good exposure for Don Lemon. So yes, he must be doing something right to get both Jon and Steve to react.
Do agree that Don should have a major role in whatever CNN does, especially if they are reshaping their schedule.

"Anderson Cooper's coverage of the royal wedding."
I agree it did lower his standards of journalistic coverage, but there were those viewers right here, who said that they wanted HIM to cover the royal wedding.
Why was his presense necessary?
Would the royal wedding not have taken place if Mr Cooper was not reporting on it? CNN didn't win the royal wedding ratings anyway, if I remember correctly and if they did, it was a very close call.
If AC wanted to be there he could have gone on his own.
CNN is in hot water because of trivial matters of fashion etc. that was perfect for someone whose talent was that of fashion design and know how.
Not everything requires their star anchor. Let other people shine.
When that star stops glittering, they will be left with nobody.
It's called "over exposure."

I have to say that Jon Stewart succeeds with a great show because he doesn't surround himself with
kiss ass people who feed his ego.
He surrounds himself with good talented writers who are well versed in the news and if something isn't up to par he takes note.
No one is constantly taking photos of him sitting around joking and if they do, we are not privy to it because he's not constantly seeking publicity for his show.
He no longer has to. He has proven himself. He can go in and out of character at the drop of a hat.
We should all be this talented and intellectually stimulating.
Kudos to TDS and its host. A one in a billion who cannot be duplicated.
