Since when do CNN anchors get 3 weeks off? I'm confused. Whenever Wolf Blitzer or Anderson Cooper or any other anchor goes on vacation, they are usually gone for a week. Ashleigh Banfield's last day at Early Start was on Friday July 13th, and she said she would be taking over the 11AM timeslot (because Kyra Phillips is moving to HLN). I was expecting to see her on today, but it seems like she is on week 3 of vacation. I kind of expected it because Kyra didn't say goodbye on Friday. I think because CNN Newsroom is based out of Atlanta, she might be moving there from New York? We will just wait and see. I just wish CNN would make up their minds already of how their programming will go. Not sure why the 11AM anchor only gets one hour.

Soledad O'Brien needs to move to prime time. Her morning show is a bomb. I do feel she is a strong anchor. I just hate all the blah blah blah talk on Starting Point. I enjoyed her a while ago filling in for Anderson Cooper.

I disagree about Soledad. I couldn't watch when she filled in for Anderson Cooper. I don't think she's anchor material at all. She needs to go back to her documentaries and realize that although she's been given several opportunities, she's just not anchor material.

There seems to be a love her or hate her quality to Soledad. I like her but the morning show sucks. I thought she did a good job filling in for Anderson. She is a very strong interviewer.

Yeah, I feel Soledad O'brien is better at doing documentaries instead of anchoring. She would do great at co-anchoring Election Night coverage though, as well as the upcoming conventions. CNN In America is already done. She should begin a new documentary trend series.

CNN really needs to consider a re-launch of their domestic network. Their July ratings were bad according to TV Newser. 2012 just isn't their year. They need to think of something quick, especially with the upcoming election. Why can't a group of people at CNN just sit in a room, brainstorm, come up with a decision on what to do, sleep on it, and finally change what is wrong? They need to hurry up.

According to TVN poor Anderson got an 87 in the 8PM hour and a 50, in the 10PM hour. His demos. (More trash talk)
Yes, the Olympics are really doing him in but might I also point out that Greta got over a million and MSNBC did what they usually do anyway...I'm just the messenger.
Sorry.

The only reason CNN continues to be likened to a "cash cow" is because it is entwined with Telecommunications and Time Warner.
It has nothing to do with the fact that as a news organization, it deserves a resounding F.
If as all other networks, it depended merely on its ratings, and not on its parent companies, it would no longer be in existence.
So no, it is not a "stand alone cash cow," as it is referred to in a TVN article.
Perhaps the article should be rewritten with an explanation of what a financial cash cow actually is or better yet, have Erin Burnett, the finance whiz of CNN, tell us.
At least it would, on a slow news day, give her something to do.

The article CNN's Anderson Cooper Pulling Double Duty, Not Having Any Trouble Yet, on TVN, is very telling.
Even more telling are the comments.
