(courtesy: ASU)Well since Aaron Brown was finally released from his contract with CNN, I know a lot of us wonder what Aaron would do. Would he go to another network or just take some well deserved time for himself. Well today we got our answer.
According to KVOA Tuscan in Arizona, Aaron Brown will make a permanent switch from the anchor desk to the head of the class in January.
Brown, 58, has accepted a teaching position at Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication which has been counted among the nation's top journalism schools.
Although Brown, a Hopkins, Minnesota native, lacks a college education and has little academic experience, he covered some of the country's and world's biggest stories in his 15 years at ABC and CNN.
"I've been in a lot of places and there aren't many major stories in the last 15 years that I didn't have a piece of," he said.
In the spring, Brown taught a seminar on the history of broadcast journalism at the university's Barrett Honors College, and in January, he will begin at the Cronkite school full-time.
"I'm really aware of what I lack. The journalism part I got, I know how to do that, but I need some help acclimating to the academic life," Brown said from his home in New York City. "I'm thinking of buying a corduroy sport coat with patches and a pipe, and see if I can become more academically oriented."
Brown, who with his wife is building a home in Scottsdale, said he knows he still has a lot to learn about teaching, but that he's got "street cred."
