From ABC comes the news that Barack Obama won't participate in a proposed debated to be hosted by FOX news on Sept. 23rd in Detroit. He is the second democratic candidate that refuses to be included in the debate. John Edwards was the first to declare FOX's debate too bias.
According to his deputy campaign manager Jonathan Prince said last week that "there's just no reason for Democrats to give Fox a platform to advance the right-wing agenda while pretending they're objective."

Good for Sen. Obama! Its nice seeing that there are few politicians that aren't going to kiss up to FOX simply because of their ratings.
I'm not a FOX fan so I'm already biased but I'm also glad that Obama and Edwards are taking this stand. It will also be interesting to see what happens with MSNBC and Imus' show and whether the politicians will go on his show considering his recent remarks.
I agree with bookasylum and anon928 that it's great that Obama and Edwards are not going to be a part of this. It would be great to see Hilary follow suit... :D
Now I'm not a big fan of Don Imus, nor do I condone those awful things he said about the Rutgers women's basketball team. However, I am a big fan of FREE SPEECH, so, in spite of the 2 week suspension (I'm shocked that they're running scared), I do hope that Imus will continue with his show. He's gotten himself into deep doo doo before with his not-so-PC remarks. I'm as liberal as they come, but I can't stand Al Sharpton. Is it just me, or did anyone else find it shameful that he paraded his daughter in front of Imus and the media today. She looked equally uncomfortable. Imus' apology should have been enough.
I can't blame BO for not participating. If the network wasn't fair to him before how can he expect Fox to be objective in the forthcoming debate.
GOOD FOR YOU, OBAMA!!! Way to let 'em have it!! Maybe they will see that all the crap they pull on Fox does come with a price!
Cindy
FOX? Biased? Shut up! :-O
@lori I agree that Al Sharpton dragging his daughter into this debaucle was cheap. I don't like Imus or anything he says, so guess what, I don't listen to his show. Pretty simple. All this media bruhaha is only giving him free publicity. If noone listened to him, none of these big corporate media outlets would give him a platform. It's all about the bottom line.
