CNN Election Express Yourself Tour

According to a Turner Press Release released today the CNN Election Express Yourself Tour will be kicking off this weekend at the Iowa State Fair.

CNN ‘Election Express Yourself’ Visits Iowa State Fair

Customized Airstream Crosses Country to Encourage Political Participation with Interactive Activities

The CNN Election Express Yourself – the network’s customized Airstream trailer designed to give Americans across the nation an interactive political experience – will pull into Des Moines, Iowa, on Friday, Aug. 17, and Saturday, Aug. 18, when it arrives at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. The fair marks the first stop in the 2008 political season for the traveling exhibit as it makes its way across the United States visiting cities and events leading up to next year’s presidential election.

“The CNN Election Express Yourself gives our audiences the chance to express themselves on a whole range of issues that have an impact on the American political scene,” said Scot Safon, senior vice president of marketing and promotion. “In this new age of independent thinking and self-expression, Election Express Yourself gives people a chance to share their perspectives with CNN’s entire global audience.”

As it rolls across the country, the CNN Election Express Yourself tour educates citizens about current political issues using online interaction and numerous on-site activities, including tests of political trivia and the chance to design personalized election memorabilia.

CNN Election Express Yourself also includes a fully equipped “Internet Café,” which provides visitors with direct access to some of CNN.com’s most impressive online features. Two stations, each equipped with two computers, will be available for visitors to view CNN.com Live video and to navigate CNN.com’s comprehensive Election Center 2008 located at www.CNN.com/Election. The Internet Café also enables visitors to access CNN.com’s archive of CNN i-Reports – compelling content captured by CNN viewers with personal cell phones, cameras or other devices.

If you are in Iowa or the surrounding areas I really encourage you to check this out. If you do go please send us your "I-Reports" and photos.

When we hear of more cities and dates for the "Election Express Yourself Tour" we will pass the information on to everyone

Thanks for that Sapphire! I'm right here in the area, in fact, about 10 mins from the fairgrounds :)

I don't know if I'll have a chance to check this out, but if I do, I'll be sure to let you ladies know :)

I wonder who's going to be riding the bus this year? During past campaigns there have almost always been a few CNN correspondents stuck reporting from the bus. Although this year's bus sounds nice!
