Christiane Amanpour was the keynote speaker at the International Center for Journalists Awards Dinner which were held Wednesday night at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington D.C.Each year, the International Center for Journalists Awards Dinner honors the achievements of colleagues who demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to the highest professional standards. This unique event brings US headliners together with overseas journalists working in dangerous and difficult conditions, and demonstrates how a passionate commitment to excellent reporting makes a difference in the lives of people everywhere.A cocktail reception will precede the dinner and awards ceremony. Our photo exhibit, called The Power of Elections, will also be on display. These images, donated to ICFJ by award-winning photojournalists, will be available for bidding at silent auction during the dinner. The proceeds will be used to fund our programs and to buy equipment for photojournalists in developing countries.
