PEBS Anyone?

Are you ready for the 2010 or 2012 election coverage to start? Just can’t wait for the candidates to get back out on the campaign trail again?

If you answered yes to those questions, you’re in the minority- at least according to a recent report released by the Pew Research Center. They asked folks “Will you miss following campaign news?” Their answer was a resounding NO with 82% of the respondents.

Other questions that they asked: Who’s your favorite campaign Journalist? 50% said that they didn’t know or none. The next highest response was 5% for Bill O’Reilly, but CNN was had three entries in the top 10:

• 2% Anderson Cooper
• 2% CNN (general)
• 2% Wolf Blitzer

Other CNN names that didn’t make the top 10, but did make the listing in the final report:

• 1% Larry King
• 1% Glenn Beck
• 1% Lou Dobbs

Would you believe that Republicans and Democrats have different favorite journalists?

On the Republican side of the isle, 9% said their favorite was Bill O’Reilly. A few CNN names showed up on the top 10: 2% Glenn Beck and 1% Wolf Blitzer.

On the other side of the isle, the Democrats’ favorite was Keith Olbermann with 6%. CNN’s Anderson Cooper (4%), CNN (general) (4%), and Wolf Blitzer (3%) also made it onto the top 10 list.

How about their least favorite campaign journalist? Would you believe Bill O’Reilly with 6%? 60% of the respondents said None or Don’t Know. CNN didn’t make the top 10 on this list, but there were a couple of CNN journalists listed in the final report: Wolf Blitzer (1%) and Larry King (1%).
