10PM^

CNN208,600
MSNBC256,200
HLN171,200

Last week's ratings in the Adults 25 - 54 demographic didn't have a lot of surprises. FOX dominated all prime time slots for all five days.

At 8PM, MSNBC came in second, HLN took third, and CNN followed behind in fourth. All three networks were consistent in their rankings for all five nights.

At 9PM, MSNBC comes in second place for the week after four nights in second place. CNN comes in third place after coming in third four nights out five. HLN was consistently fourth in the ratings.

The 10PM hour is almost an exact repeat of the 9PM hour. MSNBC comes in second place after coming in second four nights out of five. CNN finds themselves in third place after three nights in third place and two nights in second place. HLN came in fourth place after coming in fourth four times and third place once. Now, if you're paying attention, you may be wondering how MSNBC came in second place four nights out of five and CNN came in second place two nights out of five- you're probably thinking that I can't count. No, the reason is that on Friday night, both networks had the same Adults 25 - 54 demographic numbers for the hour.

I am so over CNN these days.

What is with all of the talking heads on 360?
I really am not into the show lately. I am considering
taking it off of the DVR list.CNN needs an upgrade
with a modern day digital look like CBS or MSNBC
or Current. Enough with the town halls. Health care
is a national story but not the town halls. There are
535 members of Congress. If you live in NY , do
you really care about shouting in Florida.

Yesterday's ratings for LKL VS. AC360 are in and it is NOT surprising that Anderson Cooper could not hold on to LKL's tremendous lead of almost a million plus with the Kate Gosselin interview. They did try to go tabloid and show part of the SAME interview on AC360 and it really didn't go over well. CNN has to learn to READ their viewership. Those who tune into Larry King, WANT Larry. They don't want Cooper....and those that tune into Cooper don't want Larry. So far they just don't "get it."

AC's ratings are bad yesterday because his lead
story was on if Dick Cheney was right about
torture. Anderson and Larry do not bring in the
same viewers for CNN. Right now Anderson and
Larry are the only safe people at CNN. THere are
days when Anderson does top King in viewers or
demo.AC is not the problem.

CNN's HBO Tribute to Ted Kennedy could have really been something out of the ordinary and special. But only they know how to mess things up. Every two minutes, there was a COMMERCIAL!! Hey, CNN, it's a tribute, not a chance for you guys to sell the kitchen sink because at last you have eyeballs!! Please, Ted Kennedy deserves better and the next time you show the HBO special, "Teddy In Own Words," let HBO do it.

Anon 1:12 am, you are right , it should have
been done with few commercials.

With regards the banners & logos, I don't get
why it can't all be on the same line and does
it have to be so big with the CNN logo and live.
Heck even MTV keeps it all on a single line for
everything to sync up at the bottom. Maybe the
crawl can be replaced with headlines in and out
of commercial breaks. Make the look like Yahoo
with the picture and banner of the news story.
I say MTV because for the AMTV they have
the banner, time and show logo all on a single
line.In this day and time the CNN logo needs
to animate. Maybe between CNN and live
Also, why can't the banner show the line with
regards to the story and every 10 minutes or
so say what show you are watching, the CNN
newsroom for and example.I don't get why
everything has to be shot off of a monitor,
since there are times when it gets lost. Say
like the fast forward on AM. People with
Final Cut Pro do cool graphics and transitions
mixed with music in a very short period of
time. Maybe that is it.CNN is still going with
Avid and Adobe and not Final Cut.We learn
all 3 in school but people tend to move in
the directions of macs because we like what
we can do with macs. Heck I-movie is pretty
easy as well.I think they do need to focus on
content and increase the number of stories
that make it to air.I believe I also saw one
of the apj's ( all platform journalists) do a
piece out of Seattle that was interesting.
Also, CNN has added a new Facebook ad,
maybe they are trying to build a news social
site in conjunction with Facebook.Also,
the have been airing medical features shot
by the photojournalists that I like. Only one
thing : can we see a picture of the people
who brought us the story.I do think there
needs to be a shake up in programs.

The numbers are in for yesterday and CNN
should have done way better.I knew CNN was
in trouble when Sanchez did not focus on Ted
Kennedy and kept Twitter on the screen. How
dumb can you be ? I think it hurt TSR and
CNN should have kept Brown out of the HBO
doc.CNN numbers should have been better.
Sanchez, Dobbs and Brown should have been
let go longtime ago.TSR also needs to be on
for only 2 hours.CNN needs to fix things from
noon to 9. Anon 9:56 I think you are right
about the graphics. Today there were times
when I switched to FNC or MSNBC because
CNN had to much junk on the screen and
did not show enough pictures as the body
made it's way to the library.
