Your Views on the News, September 6, 2010

We hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful Labor Day weekend. It's been a quiet week for CNN news. We still haven't heard when the roll out date is for the new Spitzer/Parker hour but it should be announced very soon. In a related story we've heard rumblings that the Piers Morgan deal may have hit a snag, one can only hope. If you've got news or a bone to pick with CNN put it in comments.

I did read that LK was asked to stay on longer because Piers was having trouble getting a work visa for the length of time he'd spend on his new CNN program. One can only hope Piers does not meet with success.

I have a feeling David Westin will be coming
to CNN from ABC. Westin clearly is being
considered for a job in other places. There
is not change coming to CBS or NBC. That
leaves CNN. News overall needs a mackeover
or else they are done. You have to tell people
what is going on in the world and have some
original content. You can no longer just read
to people and offer pro or con. Wake up CNN.

CNN needs a renegade president. Someone who
gets the digital age and knows how to work it
for CNN's advantage. CNN is the best news org
when it comes to digital media. They just don't
know the value of what they have. CNN needs
to find someone who can create a cable news
channel that is a Facebook for news junkies
around the the globe.

Seriously, if Piers really does replace Larry King, I'm gone. Bye Cnn!

This weekend I watched the Friday edition
of 360 and there were journalists instead of
pundits and the Andre Agassi interview, On
a Friday 360 had better ratings than it had all
week long. Hint CNN :that is what 360 should
be.It is not the greatest numbers but CNN is
gaining viewers at 10. Unfortunately the new
show with Spitzer will drag CNN down in the
ratings. Left vs right is playing out and this
is a train wreck waiting to happen. The big
winner here is Countdown because they
will get what is left of CNN's audience for
the hour.If CNN had confidence in this show,
the rollout would have been better.
