Please tell me the reason Anderson dressed like a rabbit to show the intelligence of bonobos, run it by me once again.
Gee, for weeks now he's been promoting this segment, and hopping around in that suit, but when the segment finally aired, it made very little sense.
That's not News. We know that animal intelligence in some species, is at a higher level and almost human. This is not new and you don't have to play "dress up to prove it."
You did get it right with Thomas L. Freidman and we need more of that and less of the "funny, bunny business."
It's NOT "too cute," its Ridiculist, and it wouldn't bring it higher ratings.

CNN has to focus on the news. Cable news
has to grow beyond the predictable. Content,
writing, photography,etc. Let's hope 2011 will
be the year when CNN drops the crawl.I would
much rather see the Google News format in
and out of commercial.I can get more news on
Google in 10 minutes than I can get all day long
on CNN.CNN has to connect with the people not
pundits. Look like you want to bring me the news
and not the latest gossip and chatter. It would be
great if HLN would do this as well a real 24 hr
aggregated news network. Add the musical
elements throughout the day. Let's hope
CNN will also move to a single line banner
in 2011 and really work on the camera shots
when shooting video off of the monitors.
Presentation is important as well.

I'm currently watching CNN mid-day but had to change the channel. Incredibly, they dropped the Charlie Rangel hearing so they could cover the Chilean miners riding a bus through the streets of LA. Are you kidding me? It's nice that they'll be at the Heroes event, but c'mon... This isn't news, CNN. Who's making these idiotic decisions?

I had no problem with the bunny suit and
the animals. CNN is falling way behind in
the demos. MSNBC is getting closer to the
possibility of having 400,000 demo viewers
and CNN can't average 200,000. I am still
hoping CNN will wake up and launch a
women's news show at 8. Parker Spitzer
is not keeping CNN competitive. They have
to drop the show before next year.

@4:05PM "I have no problem with the bunny suit and the animals."
CNN is falling way behind in the demos."
Isn't this a contradictory statement or are you excluding 360 in your "way behind in the demos?"
If not, they are falling way behind in the totals and the "dress up business" for whatever the reason, has something to do with it.
Where is the Anderson that said, "Stand aside and let the story tell itself?"
Get Real. Would Brian Williams play dress up?
Would Rachel Maddow play dress up?
Would Keith Olberman or Larwrence O'Donnell dress up like a rabbit?
It's almost too laughable to write about.
Real News people don't do this and this just another example of how LOW, CNN has allowed its one good solid show to plummet.

CNN is trailing badly in the demo because they
have nothing but talking panels in prime time.
Nobody will watch that for 1, 2 let alone 3 hrs.
The programming on CNN prime time is just
awful and not worth watching.360 is the only
thing CNN has gong for it right now and they
keep messing around with the show. I set the
dvr to automatically turn to 360 the moment
he brings in the panels. I hit the delete function
and go to another channel. Bring back the old
360 and leave the show alone. Politics is
exactly what is destroying CNN in prime time
and just like they did not realize the problems
with Jon Klein, they crazily think this will
bring in viewers. So not going to happen.

My worst fears are about to become true.
Ken Jautz is bring crime to CNN just like
he did with HLN. Holloway, Smart. Who
cares ? Really CNN.

There is no way Larry King and AC360 can make
up the ratings deficit created by Parker Spitzer.
Television is a visual medium and video matters
more than opinion. Not too long ago CNN had
a political update that highlights how cable news
might be into 24/7 politics but not the people.
Their very own poling indicated this. Earlier on
MSNBC Joel Klein said it best. It is time for James
Carville and Karl Rove to get off the stage. Are
you listening CNN ? What is with all of the standing
on CNN , it is rude and not considered to be
inviting. It only works with 1 person.

James Carville is in enough hot water right now with his rude Hillary vs.Obama "balls" remark.
Just because Carville used it during the Obama campaign and got away with it, doesn't make him or his remark less crude.
He should apologize to both and CNN should use him far less, along with the other talking heads.

I have a pitch for a show that CNN needs to
consider when Piers Morgan flops.I know
some have talked about a women's show at
8. How about a show with TJ Holmes, Don
Lemon, Reynolds Wolf & Josh Levs. There
is the amazing chemistry on the weekends
and it is genuine and they are having fun.
First, the women's show , next the guys,
360 finishing things off.

Anonymous said...

CNN just does not get it. Don Lemon was just
on with one of the political guys talking about
how only 46 % of the public knows the GOP are
set to take over the House.CNN has to understand
that people are tuning it out. Nobody is thinking
about 2012 or political news 24/7. It is boring
and annoying. People turn to CNN for news and
CNN is to o busy politicizing all of the news.CNN
needs more news and interesting topics. Do we
really need a 24/7 Sarah Palin update. Try hiring
some VJs, backpacks, all platform journalists
whatever you call them. They are way more
valuable than pundits.I'm sick of Piers Morgan
already just from the promos.

The Promo for Piers Morgan, should be on AC's Riciculist.
It says Piers Morgan Tonite and under it, starting in January.
It is very confusing. It isn't tonite, Now??? So take out the word tonite until January.
