Ouch. According to Tv by the Numbers CNN
had it rough in prime time on Tuesday. 5th, 4th
& 3rd place finishes is not good news at all.

However. management seems to think the
problem is John King. Huh ? Isn't his ratings
better than ITA. TRMS is leaving Piers Morgan
in the dust. CNN clearly oversold a man who
is not up to the job.CNN is waiting too long
to fix 2 prime time problems. These problems
won't go away by sticking with that prime time
lineup. For goodness sakes. Spitzer & Morgan
lost to CNBC. If that is not writing on the wall.
I don't know what it will take.

The best part of 360 tonight was The Ridiculist.
Now if only Anderson & Co can figure out a way
to open the show in a similar newsy like fashion.
I also would like to see the return of the cool
bump music. Does 360 need the same format
each night. I noticed tonight at 11 PM there
was a new segment called The Connection.
When did that start. I did flip to Ed during
the pundits. Worse part of the show. I don't
understand why people from the Bush
administration are given a free pass when
they cause this mess in the 1st place and we
are suppose to believe they have the answers.
Not. That only damages CNN's credibility.

Andy Card, Paul Wolfowitz, occasional Bush-related pundits on 360 have no credibility. They should stick with Ed Rollins if they have to use pundits - they'd be better off without them, IMO. Rollins has been on MSNBC a lot, I'm not sure if he's still with CNN.

They used to open 360 with Anderson standing in front of a big display of whatever story they were leading with, they stopped doing that. They always do things for a little while and then abandon them. I didn't realize the bump music was gone too, they should bring it back. The Connection has aired off and on for about 2-3 months, they alternate it with Building Up America and Perry's Principles.

I love the Ridiculist.

Until CNN gets back to reality, their ratings will
continue to go downward. If you are going to
have a discussion about complex topics, at
least have people on who can talk economics
rather than talking points. CNN has absolutely
zero credibility. CNN put people on who come
on a lie to you and are given a free pass. CNN
is oblivious to the Lost Decade and the facts.
As Gomer Pyle says " fool me once shame on
you, fool me twice shame on me." CNN is so
arrogant that they think they can get away
with spreading lies. Mashable has a great
article about how social media is leading to
quality journalism. CNN just insults viewers
intelligence and they wonder why the ratings
are falling. CNN has endorsed the Ryan plan
and people see it. The still won't discuss
what is actually in the plan, but then again
this is the same network that tried to hide
video of the teas party chanting to shutdown
the government.CNN just makes stuff up.

I agree 360 needs a better opening. The 360
blog is kinda dull right now. Maybe they can
have a segment for 360 fans to select the
music for the show. Perhaps on Friday since
it is the weekend. The Ridiculist has become
the best thing about 360 lately. The Snooki
tweet was priceless. It would be cool for 360
to open each segment with a intro like the
Ridiculist but writing the news in a really
interesting fashion. It is not just 360. All
CNN shows have a problems with the intro.

If rumors are true about Chris Rock &
Aisha Taylor, you know something is
coming up. Not sure if Rock would want
to do CNN. He is friends with TW boss
Jeff Bewkes, it goes back to HBO. Aisha
Taylor would not be bad either. Heck
anything is better than Piers Morgan or
Elliot Spitzer.

CNN : hire George Stroumboulopoulos.
He does live tv, a show that has news and
great interviewes and does docs. Dude is
the total package.

April is shaping up to be quite interesting. FNC
is still getting 3 million with BOR but I think his
numbers might be down. Hannity & Greta are
not holding on to his viewers. There seems to be
slow shifting towards MSNBC. At 10 Greta had
only 314,000 in the demo. Ed had 272,000 in
the demo and 360 had 207,000. You have to
wonder what is going on with FNC. The sad
thing is CNN is too weak to do anything. AM
gets off to a slow start falling below 300,000.
Another mistake with the anchor changes. Tj
& Kiran were growing but for some reason
CNN had the bright idea to go with Ali Velshi,
Christine Romans and Kiran Chetry. Why ?
With those 2 I feel Kiran's pain.

There was nothing wrong with AM, so what
is up with that ? Yet another mistake for CNN.
If there is this shifting towards Rachel & Ed
that means there are channel flippers. Only
2 weeks remain in the ratings . It looks like
FNC & CNN will be down. Not sure about
MSNBC but CNN definitely needs to fix
morning, day, evening and night. According
to TVN, MSNBC won the demo during the
Obama speech despite being 3rd in viewers.
What is going on at 10 is the most curious
of all but you have to start keeping an eye
on 9. CNN won't be a player until it does
something about story count and content.
Could it be Rachel Maddow is gaining in
popularity because she doesn't have
those useless panels and actually gives
you news. You can see a lot of thought goes
into making the show with keeping the
viewers for the hour in mind.360 needs to
get it's act together and come up a much
better opening segment.

Personally, I think CNN is being lazy by
using the pundits. Is that all they got
when it comes to politics.

Okay Ridiculist people. I may well be in the minority, but I'm not a complete idiot.
There are times when the list is amusing, but AC's over emphasis last nite was in fact "ridiculous."
If this is any indication of what his daytime show will be like, Maury Povich's prediction, that Anderson Cooper "may just not make it in daytime," could be right.

I have a feeling 360 will be down tonight.
Now I know why I don't like Eliot Spitzer.
He is the guy on campus everyone avoids
because they can't stop talking about
themselves. Everything was about him
during that segment. Mike Tiabi would
have been fine solo. I thought it was
suppose to be about Goldman Sachs.
Rachel Maddow comes up with the best
show openers hands down. Last night
it was 3's Company. Tonight it was
Transformers.360 does need some
work on the the infographics.

Eliot Spitzer should STILL be Governor of New York and not an anchor on CNN.
He knows his "stuff" and we need him to legislate which is what he did and he did it well.
The only ones who suffered were the people of New York in his absence.
His agenda is simple. He was a former Attorney General and Prosecutor and he leans towards the left and if the left ever was ever in need of a friend, it is NOW.

Just saw Kaj Larsen on CNN. I will be watching
the doc he has this weekend. One of the best
hires for CNN hands down. Now if only CNN
could hire the rest of the Vanguard Team from
Current. They do docs that no one else does.
It is some of the best journalism on the planet.

CNN could learn a lot from the old Current TV.
It would be great if they could use the original
Current format for HLN. Air stories collected by
your reporters all day long. Current used to have
it so you could go to the website and find out the
exact time a story would be airing. They called
them pods. Unfortunately, a lot of people were
let go as the network revamped. Maybe CNN
needs to hire some of those people. Current
was new and different. Now there are some
upset people about the current direction of
the network. It will be interesting to see the
new Keith Olberman show looks like. I think
HLN is a bigger problem right now.

In the age of Twitter, Face Book & You Tube,
the pundits are irrelevant. There is no growth
with pundits. Who cares about left or right. I
just want to find out what is going on. I could
care lees what anyone on the thinks. It is their
job to report and they are not doing that these
days. People are calling for real news and if CNN
does not wake up soon they will lose to the BBC
and PBS.

TV Newser has an interesting item about John
King. I think it is great that he is topping Spitzer
The ratings are actually improving. I think it is
because they do more news now not a political
hour. I am glad that he is getting higher ratings
than Spitzer. In The Arena needs to go. I can go
with the women at 8 as well. If it is like The Talk,
i can go with it . Definitely not The View. The
View is annoying.

There just might be some shifting away from
cable news. Last night FNC was down including
BOR. Yes according to TV by the Numbers. CNN
needs to bring fresh faces into the mix. I am
joining the George Strombo bandwagon. April
2011 is going be something for cable news.
Not sure which network will be down the most
but it is going to happen. How do we get CNN
to bring us the Strombo show. A show like this
in prime would give CNN a boost.
