Boy, did Nancy Grace have a good week.
The numbers for HLN are likely to be up
until Casey Anthony gets out of jail. Last
week Morning Express was higher as well.

The Casey Anthony verdict of not guilty certainly helped the cablers, especially CNN who too, trie hard to do wall to wall coverage.
Wonder what the daytime schedule was like on Friday with the last mission with Team Anderson and John Zarrella?

CNN needs to be careful about the 8 PM until
360 move to that time period. They shouldn't
risk the ratings getting so low that 360 won't
make a difference. E.D. Hill. Really CNN.

I think CNN will take a dive this week in the
ratings. This might just be the last week of
big ratings for HLN/Casey Anthony. Once
she's out and keeps quiet. Now if she talks
that is another thing. But I doubt she will.

Now this is how CNN will ruin 360. When it
moves to 8 PM I'll bet the show will open with
pundits. It's a mistake. KTH should never have
pundits with opinions. It is yet another CNN
walking contradiction. CNN will mess up a
good thing. What no historians or Iowa press
who can tell you about the group's political
influence in Iowa. 360 can't afford to be that
lazy once it move to 8 PM.If CNN turns 360
into a political show it will be history. Keep
the news the focus. The news is the reason
for the ratings jump. not pundits.

I don't understand the E.D. Hill anchoring on
CNN either. She just is not that good. Considering
how Kiran Chetry turned out why do that again.

I'm so sick of the heavy focus on Casey Anthony. The ratings are going to drop, but I'll be so relieved to not see so much reporting on that case. Unfortunately, I don't think she's the sort of person who can stay out of the news.

Is there a possibility Piers Morgan could get fired from CNN becuase of the phone hacking incident which also occured at The Daily Mirror? TVnewser is now reporting that he was involved.

Anderson came in third on Monday nite after The Ed Show, in demos and totals.
Not only are the pundits not relevant but he has a habit of dragging out The Ridiculist.
The Octomom was a good subject, but it went on way too long.
AC has to learn from Jon Stewart.
When it comes to joking, you get in, and get out, or the concept gets lost.
That is exactly what happened on Monday nite.

Agree ED Hill is not a good substitute for Eliot Spitzer or anybody else.
She is too brash and overly anti-Obama.
She offends.
But of course CNN, having no plan B. will keep her until 360 is on at 8PM. Let's hope she NEVER emerges on 360.
If SHE does, count me out as a viewer.

CNN should come up with 2 news shows after
360 in prime time. CNN can't keep PMT on
much longer. They need to be testing shows
to see if they gain traction. Interesting item
on TV by the Numbers about those ratings
for Ed. It seems Rachel Maddow ran over by
some 3 minutes. Smart move on MSNBC's
part. CNN is cutting back on live news in
prime time. Now that people know that 360
is going to be a repeat at 10 in the future
MSNBC is making moves to show they are
live in prime more than their competition.
Also, most nights PMT is not live. CNN just
handed MSNBC another gift. You can't be
committed to news with the recent moves
by CNN. Keep 360 but drop PMT and just
try some live shows.CNN should not put
itself in the position of having to defend
Piers Morgan. Nobody thought about the
CNN brand. It is like EPSN dropping sports.
Why would you abandon your strongest
weapon, which is news. Not too good demo
numbers for PMT with Bill. 360 still had the
top demo but this can't continue. it is real
easy to trace CNN's downfall down to 2 hires:
Piers Morgan and Eliot Spitzer. That signaled
that CNN no longer thought about the news
or what their viewers want. Without viewers
CNN is nothing. If image and substance really
mattered, Piers Morgan would never have
made it through the front door.

Anderson Cooper better step it up.
He came in fourth last nite with the lowest demos and the lowest totals after Joy Behar.
For someone who is looking to daytime, where are his viewers???
Naturally this blog wouldn't print this because like CNN, they are in denial.

360 came in fourth again on Thursday and while it may be due in part to the pundits, that is truly boring, it is CONTENT as well.
AC was always hard news. We liked him because he stood for something and he touched us with HARDNEWS.
Playing around with this Ridiculist is just that...playing around. Testing an idea for daytime during primetime, and in the meantime it is hurting primetime ratings.
Viewers don't know what to expect anymore and it is completely out of character!
I realize there are those who will say, "they like it," but hard core news junkies just don't "get it."
What would happen if Rachel Maddow suddenly started to "joke around" and stepped out of character??
Her ratings would take a hit because this would be completely unexpected.
THIS IS NOT WHAT CNN NEEDS RIGHT NOW! Snooki and the consequences of the debit ceiling just don't go together in the same hour!
Sorry!

Piers Morgan was interviewing Bill Maher Friday nite and it just wasn't the same.
First of all I was surprised Bill actually did the show with him.
He and Larry were/are so close, but I guess he still has to promote his show on HBO.
Larry always got a kick out of Bill and viewers called in and caught Bill off guard. So it was like watching a live reality/news program in the making.
Morgan is afraid of viewers obviously so they are not invited to call in and participate which is WHY MANAGEMENT should demand viewer participation from Morgan or he gets axed.
Who calls the shots here?
Something was lacking with Maher's interview. The table was too close and there was always a large expanse between Larry and the guest.
Piers must go and the sooner the better. Please put US out of our misery!
