BATTLE FOR BLAIR MOUNTAIN: WORKING IN AMERICA – Saturday 8:00PM-9:00PM, 11:00PM – 12:00AM, 2:00AM – 3:00AM
CNN anchor and special correspondent Soledad O’Brien reports on a battle that is dividing communities in West Virginia and beyond. On one side are coal miners, their families, and the mining industry who are collectively supportive of mountain top removal – a destructive, yet highly-effective form of strip mining. On the other side of this debate is a mix of interests: community activists, environmentalists, and the EPA feel mountaintop removal threatens the environment; and still others feel the practice threatens future coal mining. All sides feel their arguments support a way of life that has existed for generations. With nearly 50 percent of America’s relatively inexpensive electrical power still coming from coal, it’s a battle whose outcome affects everyone.

Dr. Gupta also puts his own heart under the microscope as to offer practical advice and hard science to show how healthy living could reduce heart disease. Includes interviews with Dr. Dean Ornish and Dr. Arthur Agatston (author of The South Beach Diet), for insights on how diet impacts heart disease – and how heart disease may be reversible with better nutrition.

CNN is forgetting what is at the heart of the
job fairs being conducted by the CBC. Some
politicians are actually trying to do good in
their communities. How is it that the only
elected official you see is Maxine Waters.
CNN only covered the story when they falsely
believe there is a racial element. It is a human
issue. Where was CNN in the beginning. Also,
haven't economists been saying it would take
anywhere from 5-10 years to get back to
normal. When you have a financial & housing
collapse all at once it is a disaster. Everyone
from the WH on down should be helping
Americans find jobs.Be it job fairs or training.
CNN failed to cover the news that the CBC
was actually teaming up with companies to
connect people with jobs.No way would CNN
ever do that. Everyone is angry according to
CNN only blaming and complaining.

Jeff Johnson is saying the media is taking out
of context what happened. How come Don
Lemon didn't have any of the people showing
up at the job fairs. Obama is the president
of all Americans. Why is CNN covering the
story as if blacks want preferential treatment.
This is the same network that hires tea party
types and rarely talks about jobs unless you
blame someone.By the way teenagers have
the highest unemployment rate in America.

I was just watching CNN and saw the incredible
reporting from Matthew Chance. Stay safe guys.
I know CNN reporters are trying to bring us as
much of the story as possible but I was afraid
for Matthew Chance. Too scary man.
