I have noticed that the special shows that CNN is now airing on weekends is getting some decent numbers for CNN. Can't wait to see Parts Unknown. The art heist story was fascinating. Programs of this nature are a much easier sale for advertisers. It's a shame that CNN has now officially thrown in the towel for Starting Point.
It;s not smart to let the numbers fall making things more difficult for Chris Cuomo. Give the man a chance to have a successful launch. Why would you let there be a ratings fall when you are hoping to launch a new show. CNN keeps making the same mistakes.
I agree - I like the art heist special by Randi Kaye. Although, I wondered why Anderson got to put his name on it - he didn't do a thing. Randi did all the work. I was expecting it to be an AC special so I was surprised he wasn't in it. I still liked it but I thought it was trashy for Andy to put his name on it. What was up with that? I guess it was for promotional reasons but still.
According to TVN, Anderson Cooper got a 391 and a 318, in his two time slots.
I did not make this up.
Jeff Zucker is right in noticing.
If Anderson was that popular, his viewership would and should be higher.
It is true that all cable has fallen, but HE has fallen further than any of them, no matter what the CNN releases say.
They are paid to put a positive spin on everything.
And CNN is still falling and the other commenter was right about the mornings.
Chris Cuomo will have a zero following because of the lack of promotion and creativity in developing his new show.
I just read Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin shot a live audience talk show pilot for CNN. Has Zucker lost his mind?
