CNN RENEWS TWO-TIME EMMY AWARD WINNING
ORIGINAL SERIES “ANTHONY BOURDAIN PARTS UNKNOWN” FOR THIRD SEASON
New
Eight-Episode Season Debuts in Spring 2014 and Will Include Tours of Brazil,
Las Vegas, and an African Safari
CNN announced today that the multiple-Emmy award winning CNN
original series Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown has been renewed for a
third season, which will debut in Spring, 2014.
The eight-episode season of the popular weekend lifestyle series,
hosted by the world-renowned chef, television personality, and best-selling
author, includes trips to Brazil, Las Vegas, and an African safari.
“We had high expectations for this series when it launched back in
April, thanks to Tony and Zero Point Zero Production’s proven track record of
success,” said Jeff Zucker, President, CNN Worldwide. “Yet they keep raising
the bar - first with the spectacular series premiere in Myanmar, later in the
season with the groundbreaking Libya episode, and then at the start of season
two with a sensitive and incredibly informative tour of Jerusalem, Gaza and the
West Bank. ‘Parts Unknown’ is a consistent ratings and critical success and we
are so proud to be in partnership with Tony and ZPZ.”
Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown is produced by Zero
Point Zero Production with Executive Producers and Founders Chris Collins and
Lydia Tenaglia, along with Executive Producer Sandra Zweig. The Emmy award
winning Zero Point Zero Production has produced programs with Anthony Bourdain
for more than a decade, including Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations, The Mind of a Chef, The
Getaway, The Layover, A Cooks Tour, and Decoding Ferran Adria.

Go with what works. Parts Unknown shows what
happens when you put quality programming on
cable news. You actually will get viewers. CNN
really needs more shows like this. Also, there are
rumors that Jeff Zucker is looking to drop PMT.
Can you say Aisha Tyler from The Talk ?
CNN seems to get these episodes done rather quickly. It would be nice to see Vice on CNN too. Right now it is airing on HBO. Anthony Bourdain and Vice back to back would be some great TV. Both shows have their unique brand of storytelling. CNN should really team up with Vice for some original content. Do your viewers a favor and get beyond blah, blah, blah.

I don't want a talk show on CNN. It should have ended with Larry King. But if there must be one, have it on weekends. We all know how that turned out with George Strombo though.
I'm sure repeats of the Big Bang Theory would get good ratings, too... Or maybe some kind of show where Hillbillies run an Amish pawn shop in the bayou... It's not JUST about airing what gets ratings for goodness' sake, as I like to say: "The Middle N is NEWS!"
