I don't know what happened to 'Your Views on the News,' as this is where this comment belongs and it is not about Nelson Mandela.
TVN is showing a clip of Megyn Kelly with Jay Leno, who asked her why she thought her program was doing so well on Fox News.
Her answer is one that I've waited so long to hear, and have never heard anyone on CNN EVER SAY, including Anderson Cooper.
Her reply was, "I consider and protect my audience. I ask the questions I think my audience wants me to ask."
Thank you Megyn Kelly. I knew there was a reason I always found you so engaging, and now I know why.
Viewers count and not only for the ratings. Thank you.

Consider this: America needs to be protected from Megyn Kelly's audience and Fox News in general.

CNN is in big trouble and it is all about leadership. CNN did improve with their live coverage with the Mandela memorial. I admire what AJAM is doing . The network has a mission called news. Nor does AJAM insult viewers intelligence. CNN forgot not to diss viewers. It would nice if CNN would show some journalism spine and stop turning their network over to what conservatives are complaining about. That's not news. If that is the case, why do you need reporters and it gets you distracted from the real story and what is going on. That's so disrespectful to viewers.

The NYPost is running two full page photos of Our President making an absolute fool out of himself. He is shown taking 'selfies' of himself with the PM of Denmark, a very attractive blonde.....and Michelle is giving him dagger looks, as in "you don't do this at a funeral, especially when you are an invited speaker at the Nelson Mandela memorial!"

American media is really pathetic. So glad that
old media is fading fast. The silliness of a
handshake and a photo that is not selfie. The
photographer who took the photo says the
lame American news media got the whole story
wrong about the the photo. Really media. I am
a part of the revolt fighting against the ignorance
that is spread by media bosses who went to
universities like Yale, Harvard, Princeton, Stanford
and others but tries to keep Americans ignorant.
I;m not buying . Jon Stewart is more credible than
CNN, FOX & MSNBC.

10:02 pm, maybe you ought to read the NY Times interview with the photographer who shot the selfie pic. He said he was surprised by the ridiculous overreaction of US media saying that it was a gaffe. He said there was NOTHING wrong with what the president did given the celebratory atmosphere in the stadium at the time and he wasn't out to take a gotcha pic. FLOTUS was laughing and talking with POTUS and the Denmark PM right before photo was taken and that you can't judge everything from ONE photo.

Megyn Kelly has made a fool of herself talking about Santa and Jesus!

4:10pm is right. Far too much was made of the selfie. Just another reason for the right-wing to whine and complain. He was with world leaders for pete's sake. It wasnt some groupie. It was one photo and clearly 10:02pm is taking it completely out of context... as usual. So many reasons in this world to complain and that's your beef? You have an abundance of useless outrage.

"you have an abundance of useless outrage."
If it is that "useless," why are you wasting your 'precious' time reading it??
And the First Lady was very angry.
The photos also appeared on Huffpost as well as the clip.
The POTUS showed poor judgement and was inappropriate and chidish.
Sorry, he was wrong.

Taking a "selfie" of yourself at a national event is something you'd expect someone like W. to do. Speaking of the (right wing)
Very childish and laughing about it at a somber event.
It was not to be a festive occasion!
Let's stop blaming the right wing, when the left is just as inept.

The selfie scandal was much ado about NOTHING and anyone with common sense knows it. We all know how the media and the right like to blow any little thing about President Obama up and turn it into some major scandal when it's nowhere near that. Some people just like to complain about everything. The crowd cheered so long and loud when POTUS showed up on the video screens, no one cared except for the usual suspects who ALWAYS nitpicking and digging to find something bad to say about the president.

Anyone who watched the Mandela memorial knows it was a festive atmosphere. This man lived to be 95 so it was not somber but more of a coming home celebration. THere are cultural differences. That just goes to show how clueless cable news is. Solemn is when someone suddenly or at the hands of violence.
Now you see how easily the right wing media machine controls cable news. CNN will fall for anything.

Yeah, I gotta go with those who said the Mandela event at the stadium was a celebration. That was the point to celebrate his life. Everyone there was celebrating his accomplished life. The event was then followed by a few days of mourning where his body was moved to its final resting place. I am not convinced the First Lady was all that mad but its really hard to tell the circumstances from a few photos.

That's why I am now a loyal AJAM viewer. So called cable news channels CNN, FNC & MSNBC don't follow the real news. They cover 24 hours of chatter not news. The Jesus and Santa comments show that Megyn Kelly is just like everyone else at FNC.

So does Megyn Kelly's realization that race is still a volatile issue in this country and perhaps the mythical figure of Santa Claus, who is always portrayed as white, be replaced by a "peguin," bother anybody?
Kelly said her solution to the dilema resulted in a 'firestorm' and it was all said in jest.
TVN has the clip.

Not to defend Kelly, but the reason she mentioned the penguin is because the original article on Slate was accompanied by a picture of a penguin dressed as Santa. Kelly also copped to the fact that Jesus's race is debated and generally accepted that he waant "white" as we know it today.
