
Nola.com is reporting that “State of the Union with Candy Crowley” will originate from New Orleans this Sunday (April 11). The program will arrive in town earlier in the week to cover the Southern Republican Leadership Council. The conference will be attended by 2,500 to 3,500 people and will be held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center from April 8-10.
A tie in to the premiere of “Treme,” a new drama from CNN’s Time Warner corporate cousin HBO, is also rumored to be in the works for SOTU on Sunday.Treme is new HBO drama series that takes place three months after Hurricane Katrina. It follows the lives of residents of NOLA, including musicians, chefs, Mardi Gras Indians, and others as they try to rebuild their lives, their homes and their unique culture in the aftermath of the hurricane. It's Official, Candy Crowley to Host SOTU
It has just been announced that Candy Crowley will be the new host of CNN's Sunday morning State of the Union. She'll be replacing John King who is slated to host a new prime time hour of news weeknights beginning in February.
The NYT's is reporting that SOTU will be cut to one hour at 9 a.m., "followed by Fareed Zakaria GPS at 10 a.m. and Reliable Sources at 11 a.m. An updated edition of State of the Union will air at noon followed by a replay of GPS at 1 p.m.”

President Clinton's Shout Out to CNN
After concluding his interview with former Presidents Bush and Clinton, about the Haiti relief program they head, John King thanked both President's and offered his help in the effort. President Clinton took the opportunity to praise CNN for their coverage of the disaster.
