I have been enjoying Anderson Cooper's reporting from New Orleans. I strongly feel that he is a much better reporter than he is an anchor.

August 2012 monthly ratings have just been released. CNN took another pounding. As usual, FNC is way ahead, but MSNBC is opening up a sizeable lead on CNN. It has gottn so bad, CNN isn't even issuing press releases about their program ratings, whereas MSNBC releases a blow-by-blow breakdown of how badly they are thumping CNN each hour of the day. Why not let Walton go now? Why let him hang around? CNN needs to seriously clean house. IMMEDIATELY.

Wow! I just lost all respect for John Berman. Did I just hear what I thought I did? He was on the convention floor with former South Carolina governor Mark Sanford and congratulated him on his engagement. Isn't this the guy who lied to his state by disappearing for a few days, using tax payers money to go to South America to cheat on his wife who is heartbroken and be with his mistress? Way to go John! That part of his personal life shouldn't even be spoken about. I may be over-reacting but I just found it to be unbelievable.

@7:33PM: Republicans actually let Mark Sanford into the convention? Talk about family values!

Oh wait, just saw Newt Gingrich as I was typing this.

CNN will be LIVE all night covering Hurricane Isaac from 1AM to 4AM, followed by Early Start beginning an hour earlier at 4AM, according to TVnewser.

3:30PM: You make a very good point about the fact that CNN is no longer even issuing their "faux" press releases.
They just can't cover up their mistakes any longer.
Viewers laugh to themselves and see right through anything they say.
Now their building up the hurricane hoping this will ease their pain during the convention.
Yes, they need to clean house and that includes everyone...even those who became stars covering other people's misfortunes.

I was willing to give a pass to CNN's monday convention coverage even though it was repeat material but tuesday there was no excuse for lame coverage. The interviews from correspondents on the floor was good but it was interrupted far too often with commercials and a whole lot of hurricane coverage. The chemistry between Wolf and Erin was nonexistent and truthfully, I don't even know why she was there. Putting Piers in at all was a mistake. I am very curious to see how the ratings pan out - I think CNN is going to bad. In an event like this people flip channels all the time since other networks are covering the same event. After a while, I just stopped bothering to tune into CNN because nothing was happening and they skipped many of the earlier speakers. Isn't the conventions supposed to be the moment for CNN to shine? I bet they get their butts kicked in the ratings for Tuesday night. Sam Feist needs to be fired along with Walton.

Anonymous 12:16 and 1:33, completely agree with all of your statements.

And what is completely baffling is that CNN continues to find new mistakes to make, it's crazy.
I thought we already hit rock bottom with CNN, but they keep proving me wrong. Things will not improve with this administration.
