‘41’
– Airs Saturday 8:00PM – 10:00PM and 11:00PM – 12:00AM (Sunday 2:00AM)
Produced for HBO and written and directed by Jeffrey Roth and executive produced by Jerry Weintraub, ’41’ was filmed over a 17-month period and tells George Herbert Walker Bush’s story in his own words – providing an intimate glimpse of the life of the 41st president of the United States. Beginning with his childhood memories from time spent at his grandfather’s home at Walker’s Point in Maine, to his experiences as an 18-year-old Naval aviator during World War II, to being a Texas oil man, his time in the U.S. Congress, serving as President Nixon’s Ambassador to China, and ultimately, to his service as vice president and president of the United States, this film spans the very full life of the now 88-year-old former President Bush. Now the Bush family patriarch, the 41st President of the United States, reflects on the highs and lows of his life, from his summer compound in Kennebunkport, Maine, and his presidential library in Texas, with contributions and moving recollections shared with his beloved wife of 67 years, Barbara Bush, and including the presidency of his son, George W. Bush, and his own last election against President Bill Clinton, whom he now counts as a friend.

When President Barack Obama came into office he faced towering expectations, a severe economic crisis, and a bitterly divided nation. Obama Revealed, reported by CNN chief White House correspondent Jessica Yellin, looks at the pros and cons of President Obama’s cool demeanor and what happened when his lofty goals met the realities of Washington. In an exclusive interview, Yellin speaks with President Barack Obama about his time in office, the challenges he faced, and his ambitions for a second term. Included are interviews with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel, former director of the White House Economic Council Dr. Larry Summers, and former chairs of the President’s Council of Economic Advisers Austan Goolsbee and Dr. Christina Romer. Yellin also interviews members of the president’s inner circle of confidantes including senior campaign strategist David Axelrod, senior adviser Valerie Jarrett, and long-time personal aide Reggie Love. These voices tell the inside story behind the president’s efforts to solve the nation’s economic crisis, push for health care reform, and kill Osama bin Laden. In separate exclusive interviews, House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) and U.S. Senator Olympia Snowe (R-ME) offer their sharp perspectives on working with the president and the failure to bring Republicans and Democrats together in Washington. Obama biographer and Washington Post associate editor David Maraniss, Rice University professor and historian Douglas Brinkley, and New York Times chief White House correspondent David Sanger add independent insights from their research.

Hopefully when CNN launches it's new studio in Washington DC after the Democratic convention, they can also launch new graphics. CNN PLEASE CAPITALIZE ALL WORDS! I don't like the lower-cased headlines. Everything is so small. That could also play as a reason to why their ratings are plummeting...everyone has to scoot closer to their TV sets to read! At least I have to. Get rid of the news ticker and make the graphics slightly bigger and in all caps. Don't write too much. Also, get rid of the distracting animated program/segment box. What's the point of it? Just flash the show logo on screen before and after commercial breaks.

I totally agree. I was watching the HBO/CNN Ted Kennedy documentary and I noticed it wasn't in CNN's HD format which made the CNN logo and words bigger. Very simple and easy to read. Hopefully they can figure something out soon for new graphics. It's kind of like when there is political coverage or Hurricane coverage, CNN tends to put way too much information at the bottom of the screen taking up nearly half of the screen. Too much pointless information. Why not make everything simple? I want to listen and watch, not struggle to read a paragraph.

If CNN plans to partner with HBO and present documentaries, they are assuming that all viewers favor the Democrats.
So far they aired one about Ted Kennedy's life, which was more than one sided with none of his known transgressions, and one on President Obama's life which was less than critical.
CNN supposedly takes pride in its independent partisan stance, so their documentaries should at least reflect this feeling.
Showing to many 'feel good' documentaries about subjects is not a good idea if you're not "leaning forward."

@10:43, you should do your homework before spouting off at the mouth. Saturday, CNN played the HBO documentary "41" which was a wonderful, stunning portrait of our 41st president, George HW Bush. I watched it and enjoyed it very much - it was not at all critical of Bush 41 but it wasn't supposed to be. It was a glowing biography and they did a great job. Also, last week, preceding the RNC convention, they played "Romney Revealed" by Gloria Borger. In fact, they played Romney Revealed last night right before the premiere of Obama Revealed.

There is much to criticize at CNN but your kind of blatant bias lies are not allowed. You can't just make stuff up. CNN has been remarkably balanced in terms of the documentaries shown this past week.

Anonymous 10:43, CNN also aired a flowery portray of Romney numerous times last week as well as again this weekend. It also aired 41, a look at the first President Bush and allowed him to tell his version of the story. Both of these documentaries revealed much but were without transgressions.

"you should do your homework before
spouting off at the mouth."
I guess all those in media then who are critical, and there are MANY, are just spouting off at the mouth at poor CNN.
Yes, indeed. We do, do our homework.
Glad you're enjoying the documentaries....so you're the one.
And yes, CNN HAS PARTNERED WITH HBO.
I deal in facts.

@9:01 and @10:43, are you drunk? No one said CNN DIDN'T partner with HBO. Everyone clearly described the Bush and Kennedy shows as HBO documentaries, but I guess you missed that fact due to the trauma of your head injury. Speaking of facts, CNN and HBO are already business "partners" because they are both owned by TIME WARNER. So what fact are you trying to challenge?

I am correcting your erroneous assumption that CNN is catering only to democrat viewers because they played documentaries about democrats. Yet, you ignored the FACT that they also played documentaries about republicans. If you are going to make an accusation of bias, at least make a factual, coherent statement.
